I was just thinking about this. I'm a lesbian Aspie, so there must be others like me out there somewhere. Searching "LGBT Aspergers", I found quite a few results talking about the problems that they have to face, being both queer and on the autistic spectrum.

I honestly haven't had that much trouble, but mainly because I haven't come out to anyone yet. With my Aspergers though, I have trouble socialising. So if I came out, it wouldn't make much of a difference. No-one would care that much, except people who are homophobic to begin with.

On another note, when I went to a lecture on girls with AS, it said that some girls have a higher risk of being bi- or a-sexual. I'm not sure if this is true or not.

And if there are any people on the autistic spectrum here, hi!

I think that's enough of what I wanted to say.

I don't have a diagnosis, but I'm probably somewhere on the spectrum. I have sensory integration issues and some problems socializing. I just don't have some of the "classical" symptoms like language delays or problems reading body language or understanding social cues. Mostly I just have a lot of sensory issues. I get overwhelmed easily. I'm very introverted. I don't like to go out and socialize much, which does make things hard. It's hard to connect with the LGBT community because I avoid a lot of the events like dances and parties.

Its NOT easy for me being a lesbian. :/

Yeah, and when you think about it, people love using words like "gay" and "retarded" to describe bad things. So it kinda sucks to be homosexual and have a mental disorder.

Sure, it's not easy, but we do our best to get on in life. c:
