The sound of glass being tapped echoed throughout the hall.
“Daddy! Stop that! You aren’t supposed to tap on the glass!” Áróra exclaimed, pointing at the sign on the wall.
“But, but how am I suppose to get their attention then?” questioned Vilyum.
“I dunno… Just don’t tap the glass,” Áróra said sternly with a nod of her head and a furrowed brow.
“Fine,” Vilyum replied, feigning disappointment. “Ok, what type of fish is that?” he asked Áróra.
Eyeing the nameplate, Áróra responded,“Um, striped burrfish! Uh….Chi-chilo-my-cterus scho-epfi?”
“Very good Áróra,” Vilyum remarked with a grin.
“And that’s a summer flounder! Para-lich-thys dent-atus!” Áróra declared giddily. “Could I get a striped burrfish daddy? Pppplllllleeeeeaaasssseeee,” Áróra beseeched.
Vilyum grinned and replied, “Maybe when you are older. Come on; let’s go to the next exhibit.”
“Ok, daddy,” acknowledged Áróra as she skipped ahead.

"And here we are." Sabra commented as she walked hand in hand with Avani. "What do you think of the aquarium so far, Avani?"
"It's so huge!" The spawn smiled up at the woman before frowning, " I dun get it."
"Don't get what?" Sabra watched as she pulled free and pointed at the glass of the huge tank.
"Why in this and not home?"
"Well this is their home now, Avani." Sabra pointed through the glass, "Look, do they look sad?"
"Mmm." The spawn shrugged.
"Come on. Just enjoy this, okay?" She ruffled Avani's pale curls, "The fish are here now and we can find out about them this way. Don't you like looking at them?" The girl looked around thoughtfully and finally nodded. "Alright then. Let's explore." Sabra smiled and watched as Avani moved on ahead towards the next exhibit.
It was darker in this next room and Avani gaped at the walls of fish. There were so many! She pressed up against a glass to stare in at some seahorses before accidentally brushing her wings against someone. "Oh!" Avani flushed and smiled apologetically at the other spawn, "Sorry."

“Who would have guessed that an aquarium would sell cinnamon rolls,” Vilyum stated.
“I know, right?” Áróra mumbled, through a mouth full of cinnamony, doughy goodness.After swallowing the mouth full of cinnamon roll, Áróra inquired as she pointed to a dark room, “Can we go in there next?”
“Sure,” Vilyum replied, leading her into the room.
Áróra hurried over to the glass, her face almost pressed against it, staring at the fish swimming by.They are all so amazing she thought.
After what must have been a good 10 minutes or so of uninterrupted staring, she was suddenly bumped into.
Áróra turned to the girl who had bumped into her and exclaimed, “You’re wings are cute! Ooooo, hoofs! Hi! I am Áróra! Who are you? Aren’t the fish pretty? I want a striped burrfish!” then catching her breathe, she held out the cinnamon roll and asked, “Want a bite?”

At first Avani was terrified that she had upset the other girl, but then what she was saying started to register. "Re-really?" She blushed. "Thank you, Áróra - I like your wings too." Avani looked over at the fish and nodded, "They are really pretty." She frowned at the mention of the burrfish and tilted her head in confusion. "What's a burrfish?"
Then she just stared at the cinamon roll. A bite? She was offering her food? Hadn't Sabra said to be careful about strangers offering her stuff? Looking around the spawn tried to spot her guardian, but couldn't seem to find her in the crowd of people. Looking back at Áróra, Avani studied her quietly. She was a stranger. But this was a girl her own age....no harm right? Smiling she nodded, "Sure!"

Áróra fluttered her wings and exclaimed, “Thank you!” and then handed Avani the cinnamon roll while proclaiming, “They are just so cinnamony delicious!”
“Well…lets see.. a burrfish is a fish that puffs up when its scared…like this!” she explained as she puffed out her cheeks. “It is like a puffer fish but their spines are different,” she adds, nodding to herself. “Oh and the striped one is striped!” she blurted out as an afterthought.
Turning to the tank, she leaned against the railing and quietly declared with a smile, “I really like fish; I hope to one day get a tank with some fish of my very own.” She then turned back to Avani and inquired, “What sorts of things do you like? Isn’t the cinnamon roll yummy?”

Avani smiled sweetly before taking the cinnamon roll. Mmm. She was right, it was delicious. The girl took another bite before handing it back. She shouldn't eat all of it, but maybe later she would ask Sabra to buy her one. Though should she ask? Avani frowned faintly. She knew Sabra wouldn't mind, but would it be a bother? Hmm.
"Oooh. So it's puffeh?" She laughed lightly at the part about it being striped, "Cool!" Her wings fluttered behind her as she looked towards the tank, "I like seeing them at the ocean too. I like lots of things, especially animals and flowas." She grinned over at other spawn and nodded, "It's vera yummy!"

Áróra took back the cinnamon roll from Avani with a grin, took another bite, then proceeded to stow it away, wrapped in one of her face tentacles, for safe keeping, “Mmmhmmm, very yummy,’ she mumbled through a mouthful of food before swallowing.
“Yeppers, they are puffy; puffy puff puff!” she exclaimed as she hopped onto one foot and began balancing herself on it.
“Can you fly?” she asked Avani, tilting her head to the side slightly, still balancing on one foot.
“The ocean is beautiful! It can be hard to see all the fishies though.”
Moving her wings about as she continued to balance on one foot, she replied, “I like animals and flowers too! What is your favorite animal? I like animals with tails! I wonder if I could get a tail….”

Avani just laughed softly at the other girl. She was definitely energetic! The toddler couldn't help but to keep watching her. "Puffy!" She repeated with a grin before pausing to blink at Áróra, "Fly?" Her wings moved behind her and the girl jumped on her hooves before spinning, "I try!" She explained after coming to a halt, "But not much."
"But it's fweedom." Avani added determinedly, "All animals!" She answered instantly. There wasn't a thing she hated! Especially out of the animals. She giggled at the mention of a tail. "A tail might get caught in things." She commented suddenly, thinking of how careful she was with just her wings.

Still balancing on one foot, Áróra exclaimed, “Such pretty, feathery wings you have Avani!” Expanding her wings behind her, she stated, “I can’t really fly about yet, but if I flutter my wings about I can float a bit.” She then jumped up off the ground, from her one foot balancing position, and fluttered her wings vigorously. After hovering for a few moments, she landed gracefully. Using the face tentacle that it had been tucked away in, she then slid the cinnamon roll over to her face and took a big bite, “Doing that makes me so hungry though,” she mumbled through a mouth full of food before swallowing.
“Freedom is good, but I think the fishies are happy,” Áróra remarked as she turned to the tank. “Isn’t that right little fishy, fish, fish?” she continued. She then turned back to face Avani and declared with a grin, “I like all animals too!” After pondering Avani’s words for a moment, she twirled one of her face tentacles around a finger and asserted, “But if I had a tail and I could move it around like these, it could also help me get uncaught.”

Avani flushed at the compliments. It was true, she did really like her wings. Though she wished she could already fly like Roman could. "Cool!" She clapped her hands at the demonstration before giggling at the hungry part. It looked like so much work so she didn't blame her.
"You think?" Avani's eyes widened in surprise. She never thought that was possible! Sure they could live peacefully here, but with all the glass and people...she shivered. She wouldn't be able to be a fish in an aquarium that was for sure! The girl smiled happily at Áróra's agreement before pausing to consider what she said. "Twue. I guess it could be handy." Though she wouldn't be wanting one anytime soon. She had enough trouble getting caught in things already! The thought made her giggle.

In response to Avani’s clapping, Áróra grinned and then proceeded to curtsy grandiosely. She really hoped that one day she would be able to soar through the clouds, not just hover in place, and not have to expend so much effort to do so.
“Mmmhmmm,” Áróra replied, “I imagine they are safer in there, they don’t have to worry about food, they have workers to take care of them, and they get to share their beauty with the world!”
“Oh, who’s your friend?” Vilyum asked as he approached the two girls.
“This is Avani daddy! Look at her wings! Oh, Avani, this is my daddy Vilyum,” Áróra exclaimed as she closed the distance to him and then proceeded to drag him over.
“Pleased to make your acquaintance,” he expressed as he tipped his hat.

"Safe...is nice." Avani finally admitted softly, though she still wasn't convinced. Her fingers lightly touched the glass and she peered in at the fishes inside. I guess...as long as you're happy. She thought with a small smile.
Hearing the man, Avani looked up in surprise. "Oh!" She squeaked before smiling warmly, "Hi! Pweased to meet you too." She replied flushing lightly. He was nice. Just like her new friend. Avani thought happily. That was right, could this girl be a new friend? Oh she hoped so!
Though that reminded her... Áróra's daddy was here, but where was her mommy?

”Yep, yep, safe is nice,” Áróra echoed with a nod, “wouldn’t want anything bad to happen to the fishies.” She then lightly tapped Avani on the shoulder and asked, “Would you like to play together some time? Maybe you could come see my room!” Áróra hoped that Avani would be able to, she would like to make a new friend.
Vilyum then greedily pulled a small, wrapped object out of the pocket of his coat. Quickly unwrapping the paper that covered it, he revealed it to be a cinnamon roll. He then proceeded to hungrily take a large bite out of the doughy goodie. Looking about as he chewed, Vilyum surveyed his surroundings with a questioning look on his face. Upon swallowing, he turned to Avani and inquired, “Do you have a parent about by chance?”

"Definiwely." Avani agreed with a smile, "Souns like fun!" The toddler's face lit up at the idea. She hadn't visited someone else before! That would be lots of fun!
His question made her turn about thoughtfully. Surely Sabra was here somewhere right? But where - "Oh." She laughed and nodded, "Sabra is here!"
"Avani." Sabra reached down to pick up her daughter with a small frown, "I know you were excited, but did you really have to disappear like that?"
Avani just giggled, "Sorry! But I mades a friend, Áróra! An that's her daddy~ An she asked if I could visit sometime, is that okay?"
Sabra just nodded, "I'm fine with that." She waved her hand at the other two with a smile, "It's nice to meet you, I'm Sabra. And if it's really okay with you-" She looked at Áróra's father, "I don't mind Avani visiting later on. My number is under Sabra Knight." Suddenly she looked to her watch and sighed, "Looks like time is just flying by today."

“You should come over to my house!” Áróra exclaimed a wide grin across her face, “I can show you my room!” Áróra had never had a friend come over before and the prospect of having a guest thrilled her.
Áróra then turned to Sabra and with a curtsy stated, “Hello Avani’s mommy.”
Hearing Sabra’s comment to Vilyum, she turned to him, and started tugging on his sleeve as she asked, “Avani can come over, right daddy?”
“Sure, sure, it’s alright with me,” he replied with a chuckle at Áróra’s tug filled question.
“The pleasure is all mine, I am Vilyum Cth'fht'nagl; you can just call me Vilyum,” Vilyum replied; nodding, he added, “It would be perfectly fine if Avani came to visit.”
Upon hearing her comment about the time, he checked his watch, only to realize he wasn’t wearing one. “Time really had a tendency to do that or to stand still; never seems to be a happy medium when it comes to time,” he stated before adding as a question , “Does that mean you must be off now?”
