Tolin

Tolin leafed through yet another Tabloid. It was quickly added to the tall stack of tabloids that he had received for the month, along with every newspaper available in the kingdom. While Alfred was taking his sweet time, the Scyther was catching up with some reading to gather news from across the territories. After all, you never knew what you could find in the papers.

"What the...?" He paused as he opened the next one. It was the only one that had given him cause to pause; the rest had been full of useless information like was "celebrity" was dating who and what the latest trends were. This article, however, did capture his interest. He placed it back on the desk beside him before tapping it a few times thoughtfully and standing. If he hopped and skipped there through teleport, it would only take about an hour to reach. "ASAR, I'll be going. If I don't return by tomorrow, start up plan... D6, probably." Just in case.

A slight breeze flipped the tabloid back open as the door was opened, leaving the story of interest plain to see.

The next wonder of the natural world?
Scientists puzzled by rapid growth and unusual sightings of Flying-types in the northern regions...

***

Tolin hacked away at the unusually tall grass that came up to his waist. With the grass finally parted, he got a look at the base of the trees in front of him.
They were sealed. Perfectly. They had been locked together by their abnormal growth and the trunks had fused all the way down to the base. "'Natural world' indeed..."
He placed his scythe against the trunk, "feeling" out to the other side with the limited energy he commanded. He quickly and quietly disappeared, only to reappear on the other side of the trees.
The grass inside, unlike it's kin outside, had died. It probably got choked out, judging from the ring of trees. He had circled around it already once from the outside; it was perfect all the way around. They were too high, too... mutated to climb. If he were a Pidgey he could fly in... maybe.
It was a slight ruffle amidst the tangled branches that caught his attention. His eyes widened in a very rare fear. "Th... That's impossible..."

Flying types. Easily over a hundred of them. Each one bore a light blue necklace with a black wing stamped on the front.
His mind ripped back to the guild as he tried to calm himself. It was a big jump, but he needed to get there fast. It hadn't been long since this showed up... they didn't have the time to waste. As the image came into focus, a sharp pain crashed through his side as he heard his exoskeleton crunch under the impact of an expert strike. With another crack, he disappeared.

((weriowjerio sorry, I'm... derp today. Don't post yet, opening post will be up in a second.))

Solaris---Tolin

It was another day for Solaris. Except, this time... he had managed to get his paperwork done~ Through a burst of perserverance and a streak of good luck, he had managed to completely clear the piles and piles of paper that normally covered his office.
But, well, everyone knows that some things are just too good to be true.
He was barely out the door of his office when he noticed the commotion in the main hall. Some of the younger members had gathered around something, forming a large cricle. He pawed a few aside as he worked his way through the crowd. "'Scuse me."
Inside was.... a Scyther? "]Tolin!" The Espeon shoved his way past the innermost ring of the crowd. Tolin was lying in the middle of the circle with his eyes shut tight and his face screwed up into a deep look of concentration. The carapace that covered his body was cracked and bleeding readily, although a steady psychic glow was shifting the pieces back into place and stemming the flow of blood.
"Tolin! Are you alright!?" The Scyther was without response, prompting Solaris to lock eyes with one of the younger members. "You! Head to the hospital and tell them to send a team!"
It was a few minutes before the Scyther's eyes opened. "Relax, I'm fine. Gather the guild, there's someone we need to stop." He sat up with a slight grunt of pain.
Solaris glanced from Tolin to the alarm and back. Normally, he wouldn't let random members tell him to set off the alarm, but this was a bit different.
Tolin was practically stalked by trouble... or maybe he stalked trouble. If a god was killing things, he was there. Darkrai? There. Arceus? There. The only thing he didn't seem to care about was Nico.
And it was beyond that. Tolin was not weak. Tolin stuck his head into things that should kill him and came out fine. If he was hurt getting back... it was something strong.
The thought was disconcerting enough when combined with Tolin's legacy of "messing with politics and powerful enemies" that Solaris was pressed to smash the alarm, summoning the entirety of the guild.

Era & Ethfael & Sereni

At the sound of the alarm, Era gathered Ethfael and Sereni together to go answer the call. They entered the main hall, uncertain just what would await them, and were greeted by a shocking sight: Tolin lay bleeding on the ground nearby Solaris, who appeared to be looking on warily. Era gasped in alarm, and Ethfael and Sereni cringed with empathy at the sight. None of them had expected to see Tolin of all Pokemon in such a sorry state. Clearly there was something very wrong going on. "What could have done that to him?" Ethfael murmured, clearly disoriented by the sight.

"Whatever it was, it can't have been good," Era replied grimly. She was very concerned at the sight of such a wound, but Tolin appeared to be healing himself somewhat. They all knew that Tolin wouldn't have taken such a wound easily, and it even caused Sereni to fidget with unease although she didn't know as well as the others who this Scyther was. "I hope we're going after it," Era said darkly, "Whatever it is." Anything that attacked someone from the Guild, especially someone like Tolin had to be an enemy, that much was certain, and the sooner things like that were dealt with the better, or so she had come to realize. Not to mention she didn't take kindly to anyone attacking her friends.

Sereni looked at Era oddly, it wasn't like her to be so harsh as those words implied. Something had to have bothered her a great deal to make her say things like that. "We'll find out soon enough," she said soothingly, placing a gentle fin on Era's shoulder, "Solaris called us here for a reason after all." Era nodded, but Sereni still felt that she wasn't dissuaded. She sighed and looked pointedly at Ethfael, but the Dratini wasn't paying her any mind, instead scrutinizing the scene, trying to figure out what they were up against. Sereni sighed again, accepting the fact that she wasn't going to get a reaction from either of her leaders, and began to wait with the others as more Guild members trickled into the hall.

"BLIMEY!!" Quazi cringed as the alarm sounded. "What in th' hell was that blasted noise?!' Looking around and seeing pokemon make their way to the main hall, Reaver answered. "Looks like something has happened.. Seems serious..." he said, grimacing at the sight of the wounded scyther before them. Giving him an annoyed look, Quazi retorted, "O' course somethin's happened, Reave'! But what was that blasted sound?" "An alarm, obviously, and the smell of blood is lingering..."

Once they reached the main hall, Quazi looked at the serious faces of the pokemon already there. Curious, Quazi slipped between a pichu and dratini. "Gangway, gang way," he muttered loud enough for the two to hear. "Hmm, some lubber gone an' messed himself up..." Turning back to Reaver, Quazi grinned. "Ye think these lubbers would be a bit tougher, eh?" Reaver narrowed his eyes in the same way one would furrow their brow. "Hey, Quazi, don't assume he brought it on himself. And say s'cuse me'." Nodding to the pichu and dratini, Reaver bowed his head slightly. "Sorry about that.." Reaver spoke. Quazi rolled his eyes and looked at the Espeon before them but before he could speak, Reaver covered his mouth with his paw. "Don't even. Be patient and wait til we're told," Reaver warned.

((Now come on you guys. I know that plenty of you are busy, busy people and all that, but when the chapter has been bumped off the "recent posts" list there's something not right. Get postin', ya slackers!))

Ketsueki & Maisha

A pair of strange, rather unusual-looking females dropped in through the ceiling, floating around in midair for a moment as they examined the scene below.
"That's Solaris, our guildmaster, and Tolin, one of the strongest members of our guild." Suki informed the pale, almost translucent Ghastly next to her. Her voice was formal, rather uncomfortable with bringing such a new, and untrained recruit to answer the guild's alarm.
"Come on, we need to head down and find out what's going on, here. Tolin should explain most of it, since Solaris generally lacks knowledge of the goings on in an emergency."
"..."
Even the slightest glance back at the Ghastly, as she followed Suki, could easily distinguish the fact that she was not impressed with the idea. A leader should be knowledgeable in what happened around them. It was part of what made them a good leader, and not knowing these things made them vulnerable and ill-informed.

{{ I think everyone just expects chapters to fly, at this point. xD
I know that I was just patiently waiting for other people to post, so I could hop in later. I expected several pages by the time I woke up this morning. }}

Team Thundercloud

Lounging around the team room, Team Thundercloud was shocked as a whole when the alarm rang, lying in surprise, trying to work out what happened for a few moments before remembering what to do when the alarm was rung. A serious look on the faces of the three, they nodded to each other before leaving for the Main Hall, going at full speed.

User Image ~Raven

Having followed the rest of his team at the sound of the alarm, Raven arrived slightly later than expected but never-the-less in attendance; he not exactly having the same means of transportation than the two ghoulish females of his team. Granted he had a lot of experience fighting along side Suki, but the other ghost was another story. For as long as she had been on their team he couldn't even remember having a full conversation with her. The Lucario couldn't help but feel cautious around her... For now he just kept close on the side of Suki which wasn't already occupied by the other follower.

((Sorry for the delay, have midterms coming up this week and I was just planning on bringing in my NPCs which I was informed weren't until a bit later; but I guess if needed I'm here now with herpderp Raven~.))

Team Cupric entered the main hall with what would have been perfect normalcy had Celsus not knocked over even more things on the way there, possibly including a long-haired Mudkip, a black Lucario, and a white Mismagius, which just shouldn't be possible. Imiti stepped forward. "Alright, what universe-ending abominations are we killing this time?"

Zaru

Let's see, he was looking for Tolin... where was a good place to look? He hadn't the faintest idea, and was on the verge of just setting out in a random direction with the hope of getting lucky when suddenly the Guild alarm rang.

Though he had just gotten back to the Guild, Zaru couldn't help but go investigate the alarm, and as soon as he entered the Main Hall he caught sight of Tolin standing there right next to Solaris. Ouch, this was awkward. He needed the Scyther's help for dealing with Blade, but he couldn't let Solaris know that the Scizor was back just yet. Damn. Now what was he supposed to do...?

"ARGH!!" cried out Quazi as he was knocked aside by a gilded Gyarados.
Growling as threateningly as he could, Quazi was about to bark an insult at the golden creature until he realized what it was. Doing all he could to hide the fact he was frightened, Quazi began to walk backward, behind said gyarados, and went beside Reaver away from the gigantic figure. Reaver looked at Quazi and smirked slightly. "See? You shouldn't talk so big especially when you back down away from anything bigger than you."

"B-belay that..." Quazi grumbled angrily. "Use yer deadlights, ye fool.. What's a behemoth like that doin' in a place like this?!" He half whispered , half exclaimed to the snickering aron beside him. "Well, this place looks like it has plenty of different kinds of pokemon..." said Reaver as he looked about them at the oddly colored pokemon and the ghost pokemon that had floated in. "This guild seems to have pokemon from everywhe-"

Reaver was interrupted by a gibbering Quazi, who was gawking at the pale colored ghastly. "R-R-Reave'.... lookitthat! A-A-A spectre s-s-s-traight from ol' Davy Jones himself!" Reaver couldn't help but chuckle instead of censoring his unintentionally offensive partner. "What are ye laughin' at, fool?!" Whipping around to face the wounded scyther, Quazi gasped as though a brilliant realization just ran though his mind. "I-its come for th' ol' buggy lubber!" Immediately, Reaver jumped on top of his blabbering friend, sitting on top of him with his heavy weight. "Damn it, Quazi. Just relax and don't shout out things people would take the wrong way! And don't call that pretty one an 'it'. She's obviously a girl and obviously part of the guild. You never met any ghost pokemon on your travels? Now be quite and stop making a spectacle out of yourself. We need to listen to learn anything and..." Reaver sighed heavily at his friend's ignorant remark, making himself heavier on the flailing mudkip below him. "Never mind, Quazi. You just sit back and listen." Reaver waited for some form of protest from the mudkip below him, but when he recieved none, he felt content as though he got through to the rambunctious mudkip and sat quietly, nodding an apology to both the gyarados and ghastly. Quazi laid flat on his belly, the wind being crushed out of out of him as he was slowly losing consciousness.

Solaris---Tolin

"Y... You're kidding!" The Espeon stared at Tolin in disbelief as the Scyther merely shook his head.
"No, it's real. The balance is being distorted by someone incredibly powerful. From what I've seen, it's doing much more damage than Nico is."
Solaris's tail twitched with excitement. Worse than Nico? That was certainly scary, but if they managed to stop him it would go a great ways to repairing the balance. Arceus himself wanted the Weavile stopped, so what would happen if they stopped something even bigger? Solaris might get his position back as the guildmaster. Or maybe even more than that... "Let's go then~!"
Solaris turned away from Tolin to face the crowd. "[colorEveryone, we've discovered an issue with the balance. We're going to head off in order to deal with the threat." With that brief and uninformative statement, Solaris teleported to the door.
Tolin shook his head in dismay before addressing the crowd that had already no doubt turned to follow their fearless leader. "Everyone. The enemies in this case are powerful flying-types. We'll be fighting a small army if they all fight us together. Those that have difficulty with such pokemon should stay behind."
Solaris looked back at the Scyther. A... small army? That sounded bad.
Tolin apepared beside him with a muffled crack to open the doors. "Tolin... A small army? That seems a little..."
Tolin nodded; Solaris had reasonably fear today. "I'll be sending to the other guilds for aid. We'll be getting plenty of support."
Solaris gave a sigh of relief. "Very well, then."

Tolin stayed behind as the guild began to funnel out. That Suicune... he needed to have a chat with her. Once everyone else was gone.

Zaru

"Oh you've gotta be kidding me..." Zaru groaned, looking from the front door everyone was filing through to Tolin and back again in confusion and annoyance. So there was some army of flying-types they had to deal with, but Tolin wasn't even going along, and he just wanted to talk to the Scyther...! Dammit, he didn't have time to go on this stupid field trip, there had to be another way... didn't there?

Era & Ethfael & Sereni

Era and Ethfael gave the Mudkip that passed between them a curious look, but didn't mind too terribly. "It's alright," Ethfael returned to the Aron's apology, there were more important things to be concerned with when the Guild's alarm bell rang than a curious Mudkip.

When Solaris gave his report Ethfael sighed, just like him not to give them any details whatever. Tolin quickly remedied that problem, giving a hint more of an explanation, which was appreciated. Era grinned at the news. They were fighting an army of Flying-Types? She could actually be useful if that was the case, and much more so than she had been last time the alarm had rung. Also, Ethfael and Sereni both were not weak to Flying-Types, although they didn't have a type advantage like she did, making her feel fairly confident. "That sounds like the best news I could have expected," she said, pleased.

Ethfael furrowed his brow with concern, "I wouldn't be so certain," he said, "Tolin said a small army, and I doubt he was exaggerating. Also," he added, looking at Solaris who was beside Tolin at the door, "As much as I hate to say it, something almost always goes wrong when this happens."

Sereni flinched at those words, a twinge of phantom pain from the scars on her back where she had been burned by Heatran. Although they weren't very visible now, she would never forget that battle. "He's right," she said; better to proceed with caution than to underestimate the enemy.

Era nodded, knowing the wisdom of her Teammates' words, "I understand," she said solemnly. She didn't want them to think she was being rash, she was simply pleased that she would be able to be helpful. "Well then," Era said, "Shall we go?" The others nodded, and the trio headed out the door, following Solaris to wherever he was leading them.

"Flying type, huh? An army of them?" Reaver contemplated on the chances of he and Quazi being of any help to the Espeon. Quazi shot up with alarm, knocking Reaver off his back. "An army?! O' flyers?! I'm out. I know better than any th' tempers o' th' flyers."

Standing back on all fours, Reaver disregarded Quazi's remark and thought aloud, "We wouldn't have any disadvantages, but we could only attack if they got close enough to us..." At this Quazi turned to him and scoffed. "EH? Ye sayin' we'd them to come to us? Belay that! I can shoot 'em down with me bullets o' water, quick an' easy!" Reaver glanced at Quazi with amusement. "Yeah? And then what?" Quazi puffed out his chest and stood rigid, posed as though he already won the battle. "Then they'd come rainin' down , right in yer line o' fire! Then ye can take 'em out wit' th' ol' steel attackary! Ya ha har ha har!" Smiling, Reaver made his way to the door and began to follow the espeon and the rest of the crowd. "Hurry now, captain. We better get going or we'll be left behind."

Taking the lead, Quazi hopped in front of the aron and strutted out, momentarily forgetting his intimidation and fear of the others around him. "Aye, an' there's treasure to be had. No feathered fellow can resist pickin' up a piece o' treasure or two. After ye knock 'em out, be sure to pick up anything they be droppin'. Th' spoils go to th' victors!" With a soft chuckle, Reaver followed him out. "Hopefully we're strong enough o help. Or at least strong enough to get out with our lives... that scyther seemed like strong business, and we've just joined..." Reaver thought to himself. Then, looking up, he smiled slightly at his overly confident friend. "... We'll be fine as long as we don't go in way over our heads." And with that, the two followed after the group.
