I fully support this habit of yours! COMPLETELY AND FULLY! We should fish together some time <3 Though lately I've been spending too much time in Bass'ken A bit on the slow side but the fish are in high demand xD I should be in Durem though >.> Going for a diamondback mask <3

@Lusty - what rod did you try using? Sometimes that can make all the difference when you're starting Especially since your first buckets of a day all baits (F and D included) act like A bait and so you have more big fish biting and they're harder to catch. The rod that you get for free when you start gaia is a bit hard to catch fish with, especially when you're just starting.

I've never been into fishing - but recently theres been a huge craze, I think. Is it good to use A grade bait all the time? Which kind of rods would be best?

@Eradicative - when you're just starting, I think the strength rod plus would be your best bet as far as rods go (it bends the least). The first 2 games of the day use F bait (it will act like A), then 3 games on D (again it will act as A) then A bait. If you're wanting to catch large fish (worth more) your best bet would be to use the distance plus rod or the performance plus rod. With rods it's really all a matter of personal preference but know that the strength rods have the shortest range so are less likely to hook large fish.
The recent fishing crazy has to do with the update I think. They doubled the number of kinds of fish there are <3333 And there are LOTS of new items Plus it's now more feasible to be able to make a rare fish (1,000 of the same large fish instead of 10k of the same large fish) so you can either make bank selling your fish to people trying to make rares or you can make a rare and sell to a collector or go full out and try and make the rare mask yourself (I personally am on a slow sidequest to make a diamondback lion fish mask <3) All of this brought back old fishers who stopped fishing for a while and brought in new fishers alike
Sorry about the wall of text D8 I just get excited about fishing <3

If you have the power user menu, when you choose lakes to fish at, start with bass'ken It's the easiest <3 Some people I talked to used to think all three areas were the same and one person actually forced themselves to learn at durem (the hard lake) I would never wish that upon someone x.x

Oh, and when you said first 2 games of fishing use F bait - what would be 2 games of fishing? Would one game be until you close the window?

When you get into fishing it will have 18 slots per bait off to the left of the screen. When that all gets filled a little captcha save box will pop up. Each time you fill it up and save that counts as a game.
*you cannot leave midbucket and return to that bucket later. You can however save what you have caught (and in the process lose the rest of your space in that bait) to your inventory by clicking the red x on top right corner. That way if you have to leave before you fill your bucket, you don't lose all your fish <3
