Hand on the doorknob, Val cast a lingering gaze at the Queen's empty throne. "Oh, Ursula.." A grim frown touched her lips, her emotions conflicted as to their new ruler. There were so many questions left unasked, answered left unexplained and words left unsaid. As she left the room, she closed the door behind her with a gentle click.
Sigh.
Leaning back against the door, she stood there in empty silence.
The darkness was illuminated by the crystals in the room, their light throbbing dimly in the dark. Shadows, almost as if they were monsters seemed to flash across the room devouring all within the darkness. It felt as if one could be easily engulfed into the darkness. Gaze downcast, Val lost herself to her thoughts succumbing to the shadow of silence.
So lost that she was, she seemed not to notice someone else standing within sight.

If there was one thing Alkaid had learned to use in this maze of a place it was the ability to read energies. She'd become pretty accustomed to feeling someone before she saw them and although the signature swiftly approaching had nothing on the massive swell of a corrupt's dark aura, she recognized it as one of her fellow negaversers.
She turned towards the oncoming stranger, ready to greet anyone that was walking these lonely halls. She opened her mouth to say something, but the only thing that came out was a stuttering groan-like noise. That hat, that uniform.. it all seemed eerily familiar. As with most of her memories that tried to resurface, it was all just a little tickle from the swelling emptiness inside her mind. She knew that she should know this person but had no idea why. She didn't know her name, or where they'd met, or on what terms they stood. She knew nothing but that at some point in her life she had seen her. The fact that she knew her in her negaverse form probably meant the meeting hadn't been particularly.. kind.
"Are you lost?" She offered finally, putting the best smile she could manage on her bright face. If their meeting had gone badly in the past, the best she could do was try to be kind to her now, right? It was hard making up for things you couldn't remember but she'd try her best in case the girl really didn't like her.

She had't expected anyone to be there, so it came as a startle to her when she heard a voice emerge out of nowhere. She stiffened at the adrupt intrusion, but she was quick to regain her composure— Forcing herself to relax, "If I were to get lost within these halls, I'd really have to be an idiot." She laughed. She sent the stranger a smiling glance..
.. that soon faded away as she realized who it was.
That blonde hair, those golden eyes, the striped tights.. The resemblance to Sailor Alkaid was un-mistakable. In the battle against both senshi, she had been left severely wounded after that. His fists clenched in anger, as she remembered that night. Glancing around, she was aware that there was no guards to defend against intrusion. "Aren't you.. a senshi?" She said, suddenly wary.
Her voice was filled with disdain, "What would you be doing here of all places?

Well, the girl definitely recognized her and with the recognition also came a confirmation of Alkaid's suspicions - she and this lieutenant had definitely not met on the best terms.
It seemed that this girl had not heard of the recent addition to the negaverse ranks, though Alkaid could not blame her for that. She doubted it was sent out in a bulletin and, well, she couldn't blame any of her former enemies for being skeptical at the sight of her. So, instead of replying with some snarky comment, she moved her arms out of the way to show the ghastly crack on her chest, framed by the dipping neckline of her fuku.
"I belong to the negaverse now," she said with a weak smile, trying her best not to appear upset by the lieutenant's accusations. "You don't really think a senshi could just waltz into the negaverse headquarters without any trouble, do you?"

Frown fading away, "Hm." Val murmured, as she regarded the senshi before her with wary suspicion.
The heart, or lack of heart rather was rather telling. She had met one or two corrupted senshi on occasion, but they had been brief encounters. The interaction between senshi and negaverse was minimal, at best, because of their exclusive nature. In fact, most were kept in confinement at the negaverse quarters. Beryl, it appeared, kept a close eye on her precious, precious weapons.
"Apparently not, it appears." Val replied, with a reluctant grin. Val sensed her thoughtless remarks had hurt the girl-- and seeing such a pained smile, she regretted her actions. She had become all too familiar with the Negaverse; their cynical nature, cruel manner, and harsh words, She had forgotten what it was like to interact with a girl of such innocence..
She reached out to pull the girl into an comforting embrace, "Sorry about that, I can be complete a** at times." She admitted, with a sheepish, awkward laugh. "In fact, it'd be better to say I excel at the art of it." Than there was a hesitant pause, ".. unfortunately."
Starting off anew, "Allow me to introduce myself again, I am Lieutenant Valleriite~!" She declared, with a grandiose bow.

Alkaid had been about to tell the lieutenant not to apologize, that everything was perfectly understandable and okay, when she was suddenly pulled into an embrace. For a moment she simply stood as still as a statue, surprised at the tender nature with which she was being received - something she was not accustomed to with most of her new comrades. Then, slowly, she relaxed into it and even returned it before the girl finally pulled away. When she withdrew to look back up at the festively attired lieutenant, she had managed a more heart-felt smile.
"Please don't apologize, I suspect that you.. have met me before, even if I fail to remember." She crossed her hands one over the other, finding that this lieutenant was actually quite polite and kind despite their rather.. nasty beginning. She could understand that level of protection though, she would not want any other senshi wandering around in her new home.
"And I am Sailor Alkaid," she inclined her own head in response to the bow, then smiled up pleasantly at the lieutenant. "It's a pleasure to meet you, regardless of the miscommunication."

In remembrance of the last meeting, "All's well that end's well." She shrugged.
Despite Alkaid's sincerest apologies, Alkaid, she doubted, wouldn't have wanted to remember that night.. Val had taken malicious delight in beating the girl until her friend Saiph had arrived to save her. Forced to concede defeat to the senshi, she had left that night with the impression of Alkaid, as a weakling-- She couldn't protect another, if she couldn't protect herself.
Her compassionate nature would get herself killed someday. Or so Val had thought.
Never had she predicted that the senshi would come over to their side. Reaching out a hand in a soft caress of the girl's cheek, "As long as you're on our side, I've got no complaints." She whispered in her ear, before drawing back with the most pleasant of smiles.

Alkaid fought the kneejerk reaction of pulling away as Vallerite's hand reached out for her cheek and her head leaned in to whisper against her ear. She certainly wasn't accustomed to such things - she couldn't remember being close to anyone, let alone complete strangers.
Once Vallerite pulled away, however, Alkaid did her best to smile (strained as it was). She crossed her arms over her chest then, in an attempt to put something between them but without making it obvious. It wasn't that she didn't trust the lieutenant, it was just that.. she had made her a little uncomfortable. Still, being aware of her place in the negaverse meant she was aware that she had very little right to complain about anything.
"That's comforting to hear, some other don't take my being here so kindly." Comforting might not have been a word she was associating with the eccentric lieutenant, but her welcome was. Sort of.
