__________[Sting]¬ "Forget the past, you can't change it so there's no use in thinking about it; live the present, because you could be dead; and dream the future, because it's not set in stone."
__________[Prologue] There are some things that are a part of the reality in which people live. There are some things that are not a part of reality. Separating the two is a fine line, a border, a gap in space-time, a void. What lies along that border, what fills that void, what makes up that fine line, was unbeknownst to many people with few standing as the lone exceptions, those that had the Sight. Bridging that gap, breaking that which forms a strict barrier to separate reality from that which is not, shattering all of the rules and twisting the world into exactly what it could potentially be, that was her job. Their job. To blur the line that divides reality from that which is not, while infiltrating the mind in its most vulnerable state, was her job, for they were the elite. They were the people who could bend, twist, or shatter people in mere seconds. By assaulting the mind, they had harnessed the power to manipulate and bend reality. She and her team were the top espionage agents of Sting. She had done a lot of things in my part that she wasn’t not proud of. She had done terrible things. She had sworn her alliance, her soul, her physical being, to a dark empire. She had committed crimes in its name. Slowly, one by one, she had annihilated everything and everyone who had a chance of standing in her way. And with no one to stop them, Sting brought entire metropolitan cities to their knees. Their strength was raw and at times, it could not be controlled. At times, it wrought havoc on the reality in which people have found themselves imprisoned like animals. The few times that such had happened, the dictatorship that Sting had been suppressed by, properly named the Rising, had to cover their tracks, relocate families, erase memories, and pay to keep people quiet. They kept trying to find them, but there was no way to pin down that which lurked in the corners of the peoples’ mind, hovering on the edge of peoples’ subconscious. There was no way to pin down that which had not yet become tangible. Her name was Viper, and she did terrible things. She held the most powerful people in the world at gunpoint, forcing them to do Sting’s bidding. She burned homes to the ground, took children from their families. She annihilated everyone who dared to stand in her way. She caused people to bow to her will. Her name was Viper, and she did terrible things. And she had absolutely no regrets.

__________[Introduction] Location: Milky Way Galaxy Mother Planet: Mars Moon: Deimos Tartatus Control Center 04:34 16th, March
[“C]an she hear us?” The whisper echoed louder than thunder in her head, muffled by the thick viscous liquid that she floated in, suspended in a place that was neither life nor death. A deep breath, exhaled through her mouth, forced open by a tube that descended down her throat, caused a thick gurgling noise to reach her ears. Where was she? She didn’t know. All that she knew was that she was breathing, which meant she was alive. Just how “alive” was she? She couldn’t recognize the tactile sensation that floating in the thick liquid evoked in her, reason being that she had simply been in the liquid for too long. How long was too long? An hour, a day, a week, a month? A year? Five years? Yes. That sounded about right. Instinctively, she sighed through her mouth, making a stream of gurgling noises surge through the liquid. Somewhere, an irritating machine was beeping, a sluggish steady pace monitoring her heart. The voices fell silent as her body continued to awaken, her heart rate accelerating as she came out of sedation. Anger flared within her chest as she heard the men continuing to talk about her as if she wasn’t there, comatose or otherwise. “I have no idea. I would assume so, considering her brain activity.” Unseen by her, the doctor in charge gestured towards a screen that displayed an anterior-posterior view of her head. Different parts of her brain glowed in their own separate colors, the red medulla oblongata glowing the brightest. Someone in the vicinity cleared their throat softly. “Should we sedate her again, sir?” A new voice, this one a woman’s, whispered, as if fearing that she would wake up the girl in the tank, suspended in a state that could be classified as neither life nor death. How dare they? How dare those men speak in her presence, let alone about her as if she wasn’t there? How dare they… Crimson eyes, the color of hellfire, snapped open, squinting against the diffused light of the lab that seemed so harsh to her eyes that had not been used in years. The people around her stood silhouetted against screens that showed her heart rate, her brain activity, her pale face. Someone gasped and pointed to the monitor displaying her face, scarlet eyes burning, sunken into her pale, angular face. And then there was the fire.
