It was early evening and, like clockwork, Carthusia, demoness of Pride and all things Long of Hair was out and about in the demon dorms, walking her partner in crime, Amethyst. She was the only one of her kind, much like her master, and was ten times more devious. Usually, she sat on Carry's shoulder and chittered sweet nothings in her ear. Now the crow fluttered a few feet in front of the demon as they made their rounds in the dorms. It was relatively quiet, somewhat peaceful and overall, unusual. The demons were likely in their dorms, plotting their next big takeover of sorts or something. Maybe doing homework? Carthusia didn't really care. Many of them never left their dorm rooms, so she hadn't met very many of her dorm mates.

That was about to change, however.

Picture this scene, if you will: Carthusia, with a train of hair, walked slowly amongst the halls and decorations of the ancient and stylish demon dorms, a purple crow out in front. She was unaware, oblivious, and a prime candidate for mishap, as she always was. The lighting was set, the stage ready and...

...action!

Tsetsiliya, too, was walking the hallway as she was making her way back to her room from the bathrooms. Her long hair was wrapped in a towel, but unfortunately rather sloppily, with long strands peeking out here and there and trailing water behind her. It was early evening but she was already in her bedclothes, thanks to dropping a planter in her room and needing an emergency shower. She wasn't used to taking showers this early in the evening - if anything, walking around in her pajamas embarrassed her to no end.

What if somebody saw her? She had shower times pinned down to the minute at Madam Morrigan's, but she was still getting used to the cycle here - to her, busier times in the halls meant better chances of being seen. Being seen meant opportunities for getting teased. She hadn't exactly run into that here yet but she certainly dreaded when it would.

As though to answer her paranoia, Tsetsiliya heard a door click open behind her. With a fluttering heart and a quick glance over her shoulder, she took off and was moving down the hall quickly, banking around the corner to the safety of her room.

Her downcast eyes did not see the taller demoness around the bend before it was too late, nor did she feel the towel slip from her head and her calf-length hair come spilling out. She did catch a glimpse of the girl when they collided.

Now she'd done it.

"Amethyst, don't go too far ahead now. You're one-of-a-kind. Irreplaceable! Someone else might snatch you up for their own, and then who would I have as a shoulder companion?" The crow chirped to her in response, sailing just a few feet in front of her, enjoying the wind. Suddenly, though, Amethyst squawked and dove for the nearest designated safe spot, as she spotted an incoming white missle on her radar and abandoned all hope for her master. Everyone for themselves!

Carthusia was too busy watching out for her bird rather than herself, for before she could say a word, a white blur came sailing into her. A blink later and she was on the ground in a pile of blonde, blonde and more blonde. Plus some wing, some towel and a whole lot of embarrassment. Carthusia sputtered and flailed for air, cursing the fact that she let her hair grow out as long as she had. It was times like this (and showers, for Jack's sake) that long hair was Really Not Good. As soon as she could see the light of day again, the pride demon looked down to see who or what had crashed into her.

"Are you... okay?" she asked gingerly, trying to help the girl turn over. She was awfully white. Was she supposed to be that way?

Amethyst perched on the girl's shoulder. Chirp~

"Glad you could join us, Ame."

Tsetsiliya groaned softly from her position on the floor, rolling over when she felt a hand touch her arm. Suddenly she sat bolt upright and her face flushed a deep shade of cherry when she realized what had just happened.

"I-I am so sorry!" She kept her eyes firmly on her feet and scrambled for her towel, trying to arrange herself to not look like such a mess. She felt that if she looked the taller demon in the eye that she would find rage burning there. It was only natural when somebody dare run into them, wasn't it? However her eyesight strayed towards the demoness' trailing locks. She had long blond hair, much like herself, and as she saw now.. it was a tangled mess.

"O-oh.. your hair..." she said with dismay, holding up the ends for the demon to see. As she did so, she chanced a glance at her. The demoness was very pretty, and seeing such beautiful hair in disarray made Tsetsiliya feel doubly guilty.

Amethyst quickly took to the sky once the white ghoul had sat up straight, a shock of white skin and light hair making her stand out like a beacon in the night. She was stuttering and looked positively spooked. If she wasn't in the demon dorms, Carthusia could have sworn this girl was a ghost rather than a demon. Pride leaned over to see the girl's face, despite her insistence at staring at the ground. "There's no need to stutter." she said simply. While it would probably be proper to become some flaming ball of rage at this younger (supposedly) ghoul, that was West's job and it just didn't suit Carry. "I'm Pride, not Wrath! You don't have to worry about me decking you or something."

The purple crow lit on Tsetsiliya's shoulder and nuzzled her with a feathered cheek, causing her master to laugh. "Oh look, Ame likes you."

It was then that Carry noticed her hair (and the other girl's hair too, for that matter) was a complete disaster after their collision. This simply fueled Carry's desire to either get it cut, or have it in some elaborate up-do the entire day. It would save an awful lot of hassle. With a dismissive hand, Carry shrugged. "It's not the end of the world. Worse things have happened to me." Placing a friendly hand on the ghoul's shoulder, Pride introduced herself. "I'm Carthusia, by the way. Your name is...?"
PostPosted: Thu Jan 13, 2011 9:28 pm

"O-oh," Tsetsiliya replied simply and nodded. When the girl's crow landed on her shoulder, she was momentarily startled but calmed when it nuzzled her cheek. A slow smile crossed her lips and she reached a hand up to stroke it. When Carthusia placed her hand on her again, this time she didn't jump in shock but instead did her best to look at her. She had been awfully nice to her, after the smaller demon had run into her and all.

"My name is Tsetsiliya." Her cheeks were still reddened, but she held her polite smile. "It is nice to be meeting you." Careful not to disturb the crow that Carthusia had called Ame, she stood up slowly. Unfortunately for the two demons, their hair was a mess. The curse of having long hair, it seemed. She thought it was quite a shame just to disregard it, still having some lingering guilt over the situation. Amiable as Carthusia seemed to be, Tsetsiliya was still the one at fault.

"P-Perhaps I could help straighten it out? It seems we are both needing some brushing." She held out the strands of her own tangled hair and dropped them back down. "Four hands are very much more useful than two, yes?" She had left her brush back in the bathroom, which seemed comically appropriate for this solution.

Oh boy. Carthusia frowned, trying to mimic the girl's pronunciation of her own name. It was foreign, it was long, and it sounded like it had an awful lot of vowels all strung in a row. Eyes widening, Carry knew she'd Jack this girl's name all to hell and back without a handbasket. Or guard rails. But it was best to give it her best shot, to show that she'd been paying attention to a fellow demon, right? So, taking a deep breath, Carry attempted her best at the very fair-skinned young girl's name.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Tet... Tetsil... TSETSILLYUH. Whew."

Breathing out, Carry wiped some sweat from her brow. She gave it her best shot! "Sorry, your name's just... difficult." she admitted, raking a nervous hand through her tangled hair. How embarrassing. She just meets the girl and thoroughly butchers her name. Fantastic. "I definitely agree that four hands are better than two." Carry nodded and looked in the direction of the bathroom. It would probably be easier if they could get their hair wet again before attempted to untangle the whole mess of it. Brilliant idea!

"My disastrous attempt at pronouncing your name aside, Amethyst has taken a liking to you. That means you're one-of-a-kind. She doesn't take to just anyone, and not easily either." Carry could tell this girl had even less self-confidence than she herself did. Thankfully for her, Tsetsiliya didn't have the great name of Pride to worry about. She didn't have some ridiculous standard to live up to (that Carry knew about, anyway). Wrapping an arm around the girl's shoulders, Carry started to walk back towards the restrooms. "How's about this - I help you, and you help me. There we go. Problem solved and no hard feelings. That sound good?"
PostPosted: Fri Jan 14, 2011 9:56 pm

"T-that is alright," Tsetsiliya replied, flushing a little further. It wasn't the first time others found pronouncing her name difficult. "If you like, you may call me something shorter, a little bit? My mother calls me Tset.." She didn't want to cause Carthusia much trouble, especially since she was so nice. She was rather flattered her to hear that her crow, Amethyst, had seemed to like her so much, but even moreso when her owner had said that she didn't take to just anyone.

"I am glad, then," the poludnica answered with a shy smile, once again patting the bird. Letting Carthusia steer her back towards the restrooms, she nodded gently in agreement to the deal proposed. "I would like that, very much." Her smile widened. This was much more pleasant than working the knots out on her own back in her dorm.

She pushed the door open for the two of them. The bathroom was just as luxurious as the rest of the building, with the rich tiled floors, marble counters and mosaic walls. Her brush was resting atop her folded clothes on the counter outside of one of the showers. Tsetsiliya turned towards her companion. "Shall I warm the water?"

Thankfully for the both of them, whoever built the building in which they now resided understood something about taste. Everything in the demon dorms was richly decorated and aesthetically pleasing to the eye, which made living there that much easier. Truth be told, Carthusia was a little jealous of their design sense and wished she had some of her own. "I'm glad you don't mind me butchering your name. And you're not my servant. You don't have to warm the water for me, but if you insist..." Carry shook her head and smiled. This girl was very subservient! Pride was the kind of demon who wanted to prove that she was amazing all by herself, so the thought of having some sort of assistant never crossed her mind. She didn't want Tset to think she had to bend to Carthusia's every whim.

The hair brush that was left behind was in plain sight, and Amethyst decided to make use of the small pile of folded clothes and lit on them, nesting. Carry clicked her tongue at the bird, who chirped in response. "I hope you don't mind Amethyst sitting on your clothing. She won't soil them, I promise. Even if she did, I'd clean them up. Still, I'd like to think I trained her better than that, right Ame?"

Chiiiiirrrrrip! (She has such soft clothing~ Oh man, this is so nice~) Coo...coo... (So soft! And it smells good!) Chirp! (She has such pretty hair! I bet her hair would be really nice to nest in but... Mistress gets mad when I do that! But this girl's skin is so white, my lovely markings would stand out so well against her!)

While the bird was having her own internal conversation no one else in the room could understand, Carry went about taking the pins out of her hair. She wanted to make some sort of conversation with Tsetsiliya, considering her a friend-in-the-making. "Are you new here, Tset? I transferred not too long ago myself. It's not so bad here, I think." Pins clinked against the porcelain of the bathroom counter. "I've met some interesting people so far, and met a few people I already know. The classes are nice too. What do you think of Amityville so far?"
PostPosted: Sat Jan 15, 2011 9:40 pm

"It is not a problem." Tsetsiliya reached over and turned the knob to the shower, smiling a little to herself. She tested the water and decided to give it some time. "And I do not mind. Hopefully my clothing is very much comfortable for you." She directed a fuller smile at Amethyst and moved away from the running water to join them. As Carry began a conversation, she sat in one of the chairs near the mirrors, tucking her nightdress as she did so.

So she was new too? For some reason hearing that put Tsetsiliya at ease; perhaps because it gave them something in common.

"I am new here also," she replied, toying with some strands of her hair as she reached for the brush and tried to work a knot out. It didn't do much good now that it had dried a little. "So far I do not know many others, but it is very much better than my last school." Rather than sour the conversation with any complaints about Madam Morrigan's, she simply moved past that in her mind. A slight grimace may have escaped but she was not aware of it, if that were the case. "I think it is.. very nice here. I am looking forward to more classes." The steam was already starting to drift over from the showerhead, so the poludnica took that as her cue. She hopped up from her seat and moved back over towards the tap. After placing a hand under the running water, she made an adjustment and tried again. Perfect.

"I think it is ready now," she said, turning towards Carry with a smile.

Chirrrrp~ (Hey, this girl's pretty awesome. I should do something nice for her too!)

That, of course, was something completely different in a minipet's mind than it was in a student's, as they would come to find out later. Moving away from the mirrior, Carthusia continued the conversation with a smile on her face. It was nice to find someone else who was not only a demon, but was truly nice. At least, Tsetsiliya seemed to be nice. Carry gave her the benefit of the doubt though. "You went to a different school before this one? Me too. I didn't like it as much as here, though. There are more people here and the student body is more... varied. As much as I like our kind, it's nice to see something different every once in a while, you know?" She didn't add in that her last school had a reputation pinned on her family that she didn't want to partake in (or potentially ruin).

Walking over to the running water, she tested it with a hand before deciding it was warm enough to wet her head. "Alright, here goes." Bending over, the demon stuck her head under the water and began to run her hands through it, attempting to untangle some of the lighter knots. The water felt very pleasant against her scalp and she smiled, humming while she did her work.

Amethyst saw this as an excellent opportunity to impress Tsetsiliya and lit on Carry's back, causing the demon to squawk in surprise. "Ame, what're you doing?" she asked. The crow's feet weren't sharp, but still. Amethyst seemed to like to be mischievous when Carry was in a precarious position such as this one. The crow turned to the demon in white and would have grinned had she the lips to do so. Instead, she announced her intentions in her own language.

Chirp! Chirp chirp chirp~ (And now... for my greatest performance!)

Turning about, the crow began to move in a way that resembled a dance. She hopped to and fro, wings furling and flailing in a way that would impress anyone. She tweeted, chirped and squawked to music only she could hear, all while tickling her master with her feet.

"Ame! That---that tickles!"
PostPosted: Tue Jan 18, 2011 8:12 pm

"I think so too." Tsetsiliya nodded in agreement with Carthusia. "This place is very much nicer. It is easier to get along here." If only she knew how much nicer it was than Madam Morrigan's. At that school, she didn't really have any friends. Here, she.. well, it was a work in progress! And progress was certainly better than none at all!

As Carry went over to wet her hair, Tsetsiliya returned her attention to the girl's chatty crow. She smiled at the minipet, giving a soft gasp when she flew and landed on her owner's bent-over back. The smile creeped even further when the bird began to dance, and Carry's protest made the girl burst into a fit of giggles.

"I -- I d-do believe she is dancing.. !" The poludnica hunched over between giggles, clapping her old woman's hands together in amusement. "You are very talented, Ame!" She had to hand it to the bird - that was quite a surprise performance!

As she was still catching her breath, Tsetsiliya moved over towards the decorative bins near the side wall, where extra towels were kept. She did not think it would be good protocol to give her new friend her used towel for her hair. Pulling one of the towels from the top of the stack free, she gave it a soft pat and went over towards the shower and held it out to Carthusia. "Here, I am saving you a trip," she offered with a small smile.

Ame, naturally, knew her impressive dancing skills were being commended, and so she danced even more. She shook her tail feathers and bobbed her head, chirping and trilling with delight. Even when Carthusia started to lean back, the crow simply bobbed backwards until she was on the demon's wet shoulder. The crow squawked at being interrupted and Carry flicked some water onto her pet in protest. Amethyst sputtered and fluffed herself as only birds could before flitting back to the counter. She needed rest after that performance. Carry rolled her eyes and smiled at Tset.

"Ame's an attention hog, but I'm glad her feet aren't sharp!" Indeed, her back would be screaming right now if Amethyst had the typical talons most crows had. Taking up the towel from Tset, Carry thanked her and began to dry her hair. "She liked to impress people with all sorts of odd things she knows. I didn't teach her any of that... Speaking of teaching, though, have you heard of the minipet training class? I think I might sign up for that. I could use some help. Right Ame?"

The bird cocked her head and trilled, flying up and landing gently on the white demon's shoulder, nuzzling her with her feathered cheek. Carry laughed and continued to dry her hair. "Seems like Ame thinks you're cuddly! I'm so glad she's not mean. I'd be so embarrassed..."
PostPosted: Wed Jan 26, 2011 5:55 pm

Tsetsiliya smiled and patted the crow gently as she landed on her shoulder. "Then I am very much happy." As Carthusia ran her hair under the water, she nodded along to what she was saying about a minipet class. She blinked, glancing at Ame on her shoulder. "I-I am hearing of this class.. are you enrolling with Ame?" This seemed a little surprising, as she thought the crow was very well-behaved. But perhaps this was her assumption. Not everyone just had one minipet. But Lucja could probably use it. As much as she loved the fae dragon, she was.. temperamental, to put it nicely. Possessive would probably be a better fit.

As Carthusia moved away, Tsetsiliya readjusted the running tap to her liking, then gave Ame another pat. "You might be wanting to move, unless you are wanting to get wet.." She shook her hair free, running a few fingers through it to detangle what she could. She waited for the crow to take flight again, turning to Carthusia as she did so. "Oh, if you will wait a moment, I will be right over to help you with brushing!"

Truthfully she had been initially very nervous of the pride demon and her pet, but now she knew them to be decent folk. She wanted to help her if she could, and admittedly she was decent at getting tangles out, thanks to years of practice on her own head.

Help her with brushing? Goodness, if Carry didn't know any better, she'd be furiously blushing right now. But wasn't this something she wanted? Right, be confident! She had to keep telling herself that or she'll lose all the progress she was trying to make. People liked other people with confidence, and those without it, like Carry herself, were relegated to the background and were generally unhappy. She didn't want to be unhappy anymore. She didn't want to be the forgotten middle child, Jack dammit! Amethyst completely ignored her mistress' inner monologue and stayed with Tsetsiliya, bathing in the mist of the water splashing out from the faucet. The crow fluffed and fanned her feathers, cleaning each one she could reach while hopping around on the white demon's back.

"Truthfully, Ame's well behaved most of the time, but she has a certain... attitude about her as I'm sure you've noticed. I'd like her to listen to me more than she does, if that's possible." Carthusia looked at herself in the mirror and began to brush the tangles from her hair with her hands. Her wings were folded in the back as she shifted her weight, working on different sections at a time.

Amethyst, meanwhile, tittered to Tset, explaining in her own language that one day, she would like to find Tset a nice crow too and they could be best friends and it would be so amazing~

"Any help is appreciated but let me concern myself with your hair first!"
