If one were to listen closely, the sound of singing could be heard coming from the Home Eek kitchen, as Myr stirred the ingredients for his cookies together. He had woken up craving homemade cookies, and after making sure the kitchen was free, claimed it as his own.
He was just making plain chocolate chip, since that was all he had ingredients for at the moment, but they would do. He wasn't really that picky when it came to cookies, and really there wasn't anything better than a still hot freshly baked chocolate chip cookie. Well, except for perhaps people to share them with, but, if nothing else, he could always leave a plate of them in the reaper common area. Surely some of the other reapers would appreciate that.
He skipped the next song on his Eyepod, not in the mood to listen to it, and then began to drop the batter onto the pan. They could go into the oven as soon as it was preheated, and, almost as if it had been listening to it, had beeped to let him know that it was. He slid the pan into the oven. Now just to wait.

Roaming the halls seemed to be becoming something of a habit for LW. She got too bored in her room (and too tired of the constant squabble between Callix and Lucifer, her minipets). Not to mention that walking the halls was a great and innocent way to scout out new potential prank locations. Not that she was always thinking like that or anything...
Her nose twitched and the she-wolf paused in mid-stride. What was that smell? It was delicious and..sweet? Oh Jack! Looking about her, she noticed she was near the Home Eek kitchen. How had she wandered all the way over here without realizing it? No matter! Nose sniffing the air, the she-wolf stalked into the kitchen area to see just who (or what) was lurking about in here. To her pleasant surprise, it was a boil. But not just a boil. It was a boil baking..."Cookies!"
LW moved closer on light feet to peer around and see what kind of cookies. Who cared if she had never met this boil before! There were cookies about. And cookie dough. Belatedly, she realized she was leaning close to him and sniffing at the mixing bowl. Taking a step back, she stood and let her tail swish behind her while she gave him a sheepish grin.
"Uh, howdoya do?" Best she introduce herself before fawning over the cookies too much.

He could hear the sound of someone exclaiming cookies just barely over the sound of his music, and he turned it off, pushing his headphones down to his neck.
It was a ghoul, a pretty red haired one, and he smiled at her. Apparently he wasn't the only one craving cookies at the moment. He only watched in amusement when the girl leaned over and sniffed the mixing bowl, and he giggled. "They're chocolate chip if you're curious."
He returned her sheepish grin with a happy grin of his own. "I'm doing very well at the moment, thanks. How about you?" He had no objections to her invading, he was in a public location and there was always a chance of someone else showing up. He was just glad that it was someone that seemed to approve of him baking cookies. "I'm Ilztmyr'ree, but you can call me Myr if you'd like. Would you like to wait for a cookie? They should be done in about ten minutes or so."

Chocolate chip? She didn't think she'd ever had those before. But it smelled sweet and made her mouth water. It was oh so tempting to lean further over and lick the gooey substance from the mixing bowl. That was not very ladylike manners though! Good thing she wasn't very ladylike on most days. However, she would refrain since she didn't know this boil. At least this once.
"Very curious. They smell soooo good." She looked back at the boil and blinked. He wasn't one she was familiar with and judging by his scent, possibly a reaper? Definitely not a monster or a ghost.
"I am doing fine and dandy, thank ya." LW curled her tail around her legs to keep it from wagging like an overexcited pup. "Myr? Don't believe I've seen you around. Names LW." The she-wolf extended a hand in greeting and those bright eyes lit up even more. "You mean I can wait here with you until they are done?" Myr had just gained bonus points in her book! "Youaresosweetohmygodohmygod." The she-wolf shut her lips tightly before her rambunctious sentence had gone on even more. coughing a little she tried again. "I'd...love to stay and wait. Never had a...chocolate chip cookie?"

It was nice to see her so enthusiastic about this whole cooking thing, even if she didn't know what a chocolate chip cookie was. "They're the best kind of cookies in my opinion." He dipped a spoonful of the dough out and offered it to her.
"I'm pleased to meet you to." He shook her hand gently, and then grinned at her. She really seemed to like the idea of sticking around for the cookies, and that was a good thing. He was making far too many for just one person to eat. "We'll definitely have to change that." He peered into the oven, checking on the cookies. "Looks like they'll be done in a couple more minutes."
A nose peeked out from under his hat, sniffing the air, and then crawled out from underneath. "Merr?" he chirped into Myr's ear, and Myr reached up and petted him gently. "Do you want a cookie too?"

She probably looked much more like an excited house cat with the personality of an overexcited puppy. LW could not wait to try this...chocolate chip cookie. He said they were the best. Well, that was sure a good sign then, wasn't it? And then, he was offering her a spoonful of the gooey substance. Oh Jack! Remembering some of her manners, LW politely took the spoon with a, "Thank you." She sniffed at it again before letting the tip of her tongue stick out and taste it.
Sweet and delicious. Just like it smelled. She continued to lick (or lap, since she was a canine) at the spoon almost like a lollipop. "Pleasure to meet you too." The she-wolf moved towards the counter and hopped up to sit there, legs crossed at the ankle and floofy tail lazily thumping against them. Enjoying her tasty treat, she regarded Myr.
"Can't wait. By the way, you knew around here?" She tilted her head a little. "I don't recognize your scent. And I've not seen you about before." Mid-lick she stopped and stared. There was a...furry something, emerging from his hat. What in Jack's name was that?! A minipet? If it was, it wasn't one she had seen before.
"Who might that be?" LW asked curiously, sticking the whole spoon in her mouth to get the last bit of cookie dough off.

"Yeah, I'm pretty new. I've only been attending school here since about the Christmas Raid. Did you participate in that?"
He was rather enjoying the conversation with the ghoul, and wondered a bit about what species she was. Would she be offending if he asked? He didn't think so, but sometimes people were really picky about that sort of thing. He thought that she was probably a Monster, not that he really cared or anything like that, but most of the others didn't have the fluffy tail that LW was currently wagging.
"Oh, him?" Myr reached up, and moved Sneak from his hat, holding him close. "This is my familiar, Sneak. He's a ferret. Would you like to pet him?"

At the mention of 'Christmas Raid', LW visibly shuddered. Oh Jack how she had hated that place! "I...guess you could say that." She replied, after removing the spoon from her mouth. If the dough was anything to go by...chocolate chip cookies would be soo good, ohmygod! "I'd call it 'forced into' more so than 'participated in'." New topic!
She probably looked like a little kid sitting up on the counter as she was, legs crossed and tail wagging. LW didn't care. It was just part of who she was and you could get over it.
Her eyes were still looking at the furry thing that Myr reached up and removed from his hat. It was cute. And looked like a rodent. Rodents were fun to chase. "Familiar?" What was that again? The word was vaguely familiar to her. "Sneak. Nice to meet you too, Sneak." A childish grin appeared on her face when he asked if she wanted to pet him. "Could I? He looks very soft. I love soft things." Her tail thumped for emphasis as she giggled. "Like my tail!"

As much as he wanted to ask her about her adventures there, her tone of voice warned him away from the subject. He hadn't found the whole thing that bad, but maybe he had just been really lucky.
She was rather adorable, and he couldn't help but grin at her. "Yeah, it comes with being a Warlock, having a familiar."
The oven beeped, and Myr sat Sneak down on the counter. The ferret proceeded to sniff at LW, and then crawled on her lap, chirping up at her.
"He enjoys being petted." Myr said, as he pulled the cookie sheet out of the oven. He moved each cookie onto the cooling rack, and then began to add more cookie batter to the tray. He had made enough for a few batches, and that had only been the first one.
After a moment to let the cookies cool, he picked one up and offered it to LW. "Here. It'll still be a little warm, but that's the best way to eat them, when the chocolate's still all melty."

Myr was indeed wise not to ask her about that horrid trip. For most of them it had been an utter disaster. Some of them were still recovering from that...venture. LW would be quite happy if she never had to see snow again for many years, thank you! Ugh it had been sooo bloody cold!
Her nose twitched about the time a 'beep' was heard. Ohay! Cookies! "Interesting." She murmured, watching the ferret come towards her and sniff at her. "I've not known a Warlock before." The she-wolf smiled at the ferret and began petting the little creature. She leaned towards it and sniffed him herself. The scent was a tad spicy but sort of earthy as well. LW snorted softly at Sneak and rubbed noses with it in a wolfish type of greeting before sitting back up.
Still petting Sneak, LW watched as Myr pulled the cookies out and put more globs of batter on the pan. She was not skilled in the cooking arena, though she had joined the Skulinary Club in hopes of learning to make at least a few things. Maybe Myr could teach her how to bake these delicious smelling cookies?
Bright eyes watched the cookie he offered to her and she carefully took it, wary of it being warm still. No need to burn herself and make the poor boil feel bad! LW sniffed at it again and felt her taste-buds ignite in want. Raising the cookie up, she took her first sweet bite of a chocolate chip cookie. Oh man was it soo mouthwateringly good! She unashamedly ate the cookie up and licked the little bit of chocolate off her fingers.
"Those are super good! Thanks for letting me try one." Her tail swished a little in appreciation as well. "Do...do you think you could teach me how to make them?"

Myr nodded. "Sure, that'd be no problem." He took inventory real fast, checking to see if he had enough ingredients for them to make an extra batch. He did, and once he slipped the tray into the oven, he moved over to the cabinet.
"Let me just get a clean bowl, and we can make an extra batch. I'm sure we can figure out something to do with them."
He pulled down a bowl, and set it down on the counter. "This is one of the easier types of cookies to make in my opinion, so it shouldn't be too hard. Why don't you start by adding a 3/4 of a cup of the brown sugar and 3/4 of a cup of the regular sugar to the bowl while I get the butter and the vanilla?'"
He motioned over to the sink, where the two bags of sugar were lying nearby. "The measuring cup should be over there too."

LW was all but ecstatic when Myr said he could. The she-wolf grinned hugely and slid off the counter, careful not to jar Sneak. After a final nose nuzzle she set the ferret on the counter and watched as Myr moved about the kitchen to grab up a clean bowl for them to use. "Thank you very much, Myr!" Her tail was moving in that way that a happy pup's might, though not as fast.
"Easy is good." LW chimed up and moved towards where he pointed out the sugar bags. Oh Jack. Sugar. Best not to be tempted by that. It tasted better in the cookies anyways. And sure enough, the measuring cup was still in there. "Alright, I can do that." Hopefully. The she-wolf did know a little about cooking. She grabbed up both bags of the sugars and carried them to the bowl. Being a little more cautious than usual, as she didn't want to disappoint Myr, LW measured out 3/4 of a cup of brown sugar and then regular sugar.
Sugar added, bright eyes turned to the boil. "Sugars are added. What's next?" She paused and thought on what he'd said before. "If there are extra, I can take some to the monster dorm."

"That'd be great," he said. " There'll definitely be enough for you to take some with you." He looked back at the directions, looking to see what they needed to add next. "Um, let's see, if you could get the flour, I'll get the rest."
He mixed the butter and vanilla into the sugar, and then added the eggs. They were almost done with the batter, and he added the last ingredients, other than the flour, to it. "Go ahead and add that to the mix while I take out the batch that's in the oven."
He pulled out the cookies, and transferred them over to the cooling tray. Now they would be all ready to start cooking the new batch once the flour had gotten mixed in. "Cookies really are my favorite thing to make since they're so easy. It doesn't take a whole lot of effort and they get done fairly quickly. Plus it's really hard to screw them up, unless you burn them or accidentally forget an ingredient."
