Able rolled over unto his stomach. The forest was quite and heavily laden with mist. The leaves under Able’s back crackled as he wriggled a bit. It had been a rather uneventful day in the woods. He didn’t have anything to do or worry about in the nice safe forest he had decided to take as his home a few months back. Able wasn’t really all that happy in the forest though. He hated to admit it but he was lonely; he wanted someone to talk with and laugh with. Mmm… I’ll head down the deer paths down to the stream later. Maybe I’ll catch some fish for dinner. It would be a nice change from apples and berries. He waved a paw in the air following the path of a bird in the branches of the trees as it hopped from limb to limb working on a small little nest. I wonder if it has a mate nearby. If so it’s a lucky bird. It’s important to find someone to connect with. Whether a mate or dear friend. A small bug of some kind somehow found its way into Able’s fur and he rolled back over and tried to get the bug out in vain.

Ryari sighed as she sat on the shores near a lake. The day had been long... long and lonely. She had traveled far and she still hadn't found a place to call her own yet. When she left her friends behind to find her own place in the world and a mate she never knew it would be this hard. She had gone though so many things and still had nothing to show for it. No home and no one that cared for her. She sighed as she laid flat on her stomach and her tail gave a flick.
She stared out into the lake ahead of her. For moment everything was still until a fish jumped out of the water. Her hears perked up as her stomached growled. Standing she figured wile she was their she mine as well get something to eat. She walked to the edge of the water and waited. When the fish go close enough she batted at it. Of course with how horrible she was at it she ended up juggling with it until it splashed back into the water and splashed her getting her wet. She glared. "You are so dinner..."

Able sighed as he walked. He had gotten up and walked along the deer paths in the woods to the river but didn’t see any decent sized fish within reach. The little meals preferred to stay to the center of the river and Able didn’t want to have to go swimming for his meal. Instead the black and white male padded along the side of the river until he ended up at the end of the river were it feed into a lake.
Plodding along the water’s edge Able stopped. Ahead of him still quite some distance down from his was a vixen. She was fumbling around in the water for something. Able looked carefully at her. The tail ring and pattern on her legs caught his attention. Her soft cool fur colors made Able a little jealous. She was a subtle kind of beautiful that was rare to see in the forest. His own black and white markings were dramatic and not the least bit pleasing to him. He tilted his head slightly as he continued to stare at the vixen before him not quite sure if he should be distracting her at whatever she was trying so hard to do.

She growled as she lunged at the fish wrapping her paws around the fish's body. She had felt the slimy feeling of the fish beneath her paws wiggling around. "Ha!" She smiled as she tried to pull the fish out but just as she pulled up she felt it wiggle out of her paws. Fighting to keep a hold on it she tripped and it went sailing out of the water. Just as it popped out of the water before she could swat at it it turned tail and slapped her in the face with it a few times before vanishing in the water. "Uh! ow, ow, ow." She comically glared as it slipped back into the water.

Able did his best to suppress a laugh and nearly choked doing so. The noise seemed loud to him, but with the vixen’s obsession with the fish it might only come across as barely audible. He wasn’t too sure. Still he treated the situation as if she could hear him. It would probably be best to speak to her now. I don’t think she is here with anyone or she would have help. And it looks like she could use a little help with the fish. He covered his smile with a paw. “Well miss, you might have more luck with the fish if you weave a few branches and vines to make a net.” Able hoped he didn’t shock her to much.

At the moment Ryari was glad that she was the only one around at the moment. The stunt that had just happened would have possibly killed her if any one had seen. Though unknown to her there happened to be a male standing somewhere behind her and being too into her little spat with the fish didn't quite hear him speak. "Oh you think you're so cool don't you!" She glared at the fish who then jumped out of the water. She could have sworn there was a smirk on its face. "Don't you mock me!"
Just as she was about to go on the attack again a male voice caught her ears making her jump. "Eeep!" She jumped not expecting anone behind her and toppled face first in the lake. Not that she wasn't already wet.

Able blinked and trotted over the water’s edge where the vixen had fallen in. “My apologies I did not mean to startle you. I had thought you heard me the first times and ah… I’m sorry.” Able glanced down in slight embarrassment before stepping aside so the attractive vixen could more easily get out of the water. “Ah, as I was saying when I uh.. startled you. It might be easier to make a floral net and use that to catch the fist. Or have a friend help you heard fish toward the shore so you can take them out more easily.” Able shifted the weight on his paws uncomfortably in the presence of this strange female. She argued with fish and fell into water at the first sound. Should he have come over to speak with her?

"Oh... I'm sorry..." She blushed at her clumsiness. "I didn't see you..." She stood and managed to trudge out of the water. She must have looked like a fool in his eyes. "I was just... um..." She looked at the water. "Trying to get food..." She looked back at him. "A net?" She blinked. "I haven't thought of that. Do you know how to make one?"

Able stared at the female. She looked so cute dripping with water. “Why are you apologizing? You did nothing wrong Miss. Yes I do know how to make one. Would you mind helping me gather vines? It will go faster if two foxes are working on it.” Able turned not really knowing what to say. He had wanted someone to talk to and here she was. Yet now that she was here he didn’t know what to say. Should I try to make a joke? I don’t want to say something wrong and upset her though. I don’t even know anything about her.

Ryari managed to shake most of the water off of her then looked up at the male. She honestly didn't know why she was apologizing... then again she didn't see him before and that made her think she was being rude. "Oh i... I don't know... I guess I just felt like I was being rude when i didn't hear you. Sorry..." She apologized again. "Oh you do?" She said excited that he knew how to make a net. "Of course I'll help." She smiled as she passed him. "there are some really good vines over this way."

“Oh I didn’t think you were rude at all Miss.” Able actually managed a kind smile despite his mild embarrassment. She seemed so excited about getting a net so she could fish. He nodded and followed her to the vines. They were certainly thick enough. He padded one to test its flexibility. Then he grinned and used his teeth to rip the vine and tugged on it ripping it out of the ground and pulled back pulling this particular vine out of Its tree that it clung so desperately to. “mmhf” He dropped it. “We will need a bunch of vines about this length.” He pulled the end of the pulled vine to show that it was approximately 1.5 meters.

She was happy to hear that she hadn't been rude to the male. A first she was worried that she had been and that was never good for a first impression. She smiled as she followed him to the vines and watched him pull one down. "Right... leave it to me!" She smiled as she began to follow his instructions on pulling the vins out. At first she had some trouble but then she got the hang of it. Soon she had a few vins that were the same length as the other. "This wasn't as easy as I thought it would be..."

Able allowed himself to smile a bit. The vixen was a diligent worker. Still it was for her own food so he supposed that he should jump to any conclusions. It was best to wait until he knew the pretty vixen a bit better before than. He stopped pulling vines and started focusing on knotting and tying them. After a while a net started to form. It had long extra bits of vine on the end that could be used to haul it in. “Yes it was a bit difficult, but if you want to make a net that will last more than fishing trip it’s important to use strong thick but still bendable vines.” He chuckled a bit remembering his own blunders at trying to make a fishing net in his past. “Well shall we go test out the fruit of our labor?”

Ryari watched eagerly as the male began to tie the vines together. Before she knew it a giant net was forming. She had never seen anything like that used before. She was vary interested to learn where the fox had learned to do such great things. With her tail wagging in excitement she nodded. "Yes. Lets go get those fish." She walked over and grabbed part of the net to help him drag it toward the river. "So... where did you learn to do this?"

Getting back to the river. Able dropped his part of the net. “My parents preferred to fish first and hunt second. I picked up the trick from them. They made quite the team.” Able looked over the water. “Alright I’m going to drag part of the net to that side over there. I’ll spread the net to the bottom and we’ll catch all the fist headed downstream. I’ll be on the side chasing some fish to the net and maybe flip a few over the net to the other side. You can reach in at your leisure and pluck a few that you think look good. Sound ok to you? ”
