Sora: *grazes on what she can find digging through the snow. searching along the ground for patches fo snow that the wind had whipped low for easier grazing. Though, what she pulled from the ground could hardly be called edible. But it would be enough to sustain her. She had not been able to find any good shelter this winter, as her last one she spent in a warmer cove with greens and crisp water. He was a gentleman, and had taught her a lot. Sadly, she had not run across him again, and did not know these lands well, so she did not find shelter.Bookmark

Ziazan: *is mostly just wandering around when he spots the mare and heads for her, hoping for perhaps just a little company on this chilly night. He nickered a soft greeting to her, wings fluttering a little* Hello, miss, I hope I'm not bothering you

Sora: *Lookes up and smiled as the other draws near. It was too cold for the stranger to be an enemy. It would take too much effort to attack.* Not at all. A little company is always appreciated. My name is Sora. What is yours?

Ziazan: *smiles a little* I'm Ziazan, but you can call me Zia if you like. It's nice to meet you, Sora~ What brings you out on this cold evening?

Sora: Out looking for food. With the snows we've had this year, it is harder then before. And I couldn't find a good shelter this year. So, I'm afraid I'm rather stuck out in the weather for this season. *she shrugged good-naturedly*

Ziazan: *nods* I can understand that. It's what brought me out as well. *smiles* I found a shelter the other day, it's big enough for two if you'd like to share with me. Might make the long nights a little easier to endure.

Sora: *smiles* And warmer too. I wouldn't mind going there if you wouldn't mind sharing. And I really do appreciate the offer. *shakes a bit, clumps of snow falling off her back*

Ziazan: *swishes his tail a little and nods* Of course~ Would you like to go now, or do you want to keep looking for something to eat?

Sora: *looks around her* Not much to find here, sadly. I think I would like to see this place you are telling me about

Ziazan: Heh..yeah, that's unfortunately true. *smiles a bit sadly, winter being his least favorite season and one of the few things able to bring down his normally hyper mood* Alright then, follow me. It's a bit of a walk, though.

Sora: I am a traveler. My life is a constant journey. I do not stay one place for long. I am used to long walks. *she smiled*

Ziazan:*nods and smiles, wings fluttering a little* Sounds like an exciting kind of life. What kind of things have you seen?

Sora: I have been to the ocean. I have crossed the great plains. I have been to the edges of the desert, and to the great rocky mountains. I have seen the sun slowly sink as a ball of gold, and I have seen it burn the sky a red so vivid, it burned the eyes, and the mountains and valleys were stained the same color. But I have still not seen it all.

Ziazan:*smiles* Wow...that all sounds so amazing...and there's more for you to see? Wow. I can't even imagine what kind of things can be better than any of that, heh.

Sora: *grins at her new audience. Someone who had not heard any of her tales yet.* Places and Soquili yet to meet, though I have met so many colorful characters already. Though, usually, I seem to come across them when it rains. I love the rain. *imagines the summer rains warm on her, and shakes her head* I will tell you of them while we walk. Would you like that?

Ziazan:Heh, I like the rain. *looks at her and nods, smiling softly* I think I'd like that, yes.

Sora: Okay. *starts in the direction that he came from.* You would not think the rain has different sounds. But I have heard it talk through the needles of the pines, a soft whisper. Even at it's gentlest, the winds of the plains tear at it, making it like the stingers of bees that drive into the hide and sting the eyes. By the ocean, it is almost drowned out by the crashing roar of waves, and in the deserts, it almost never reaches the ground as it is so hot, it goes away, even at night. *she giggled* Of course, with rain comes mud, and there are lots of different types of that too, so I have discovered.

But it seems the mountains have some of the best water, fresher then anything I have tasted in the valley, and crisper. of course, it is also colder there, and it is nice to be there during the summer. There are all sorts of plants that I have never seen before, and great trees that are covered in long friends of moss, that hangs down like the branches of a willow tree, but are as fine as spiders silk. There are giant trees in some areas that a Soquili could stand nose to tail with 8 of its friends, and still not encircle the trunks. And in the high mountains, some trees don't grow any taller then my knees, and the completely stop growing at all, so only bare rock is exposed, and grass has problems growing on the rocky slopes.

I have seen rivers that are deeper then imagination, and as the rains come, drive the water over the banks to flood the plains with such power that the land is scoured bare. And I have tried to avoid them as much as I could, sometimes getting stranded on islands of land that were once hills, and were now my only safety, and my greatest threat. For the flow of the wild river is swift, and could easily drag me down, and drown me. *shakes her head* I have seen it happen, and wish not to be one that it has happened to.

Ziazan: *walks with her and listens intently as she speaks, trying to imagine the different sounds of rain, almost able to feel it on his back as she describes it all, and wondered what kinds of dirt made the different muds. Her description of mountain streams made his mouth water a little to taste it, and his blue eyes grew wide at the size of the trees* Nine Soquili? Really... *he murmurs lightly, listening to the rest of her tales, ears flattening a little at the mention of such wild rivers* It all sounds both so amazing, and some, frightening. *smiles a little* I think I'd like to see these enormous trees you speak of. *by the time she'd finished talking, they were about 3/4 of the way to the shelter* Looks like we're almost there~

Soraven: Well, it's quite a journey to get there, and it really isn't all fun and games like some adventurers will try and make it sound. But if you have the courage to explore, and not know where your going to be sleeping, who you will be meeting, or when you will be eating, there are many wonders to behold in the world. *she grinned* I hope I never run out of things to see. *she shook herself again, more for the phantom feeling of snow on her back then anything. I would be nice to get warm for the first time in the season* That sounds wonderful.

Ziazan: *nods* I can imagine. *frowns a little* It sounds exciting, but it also sounds like it might be lonely at times...do you ever get lonely? *walks a little more before he spots the hidden cave and noses the hanging, dying, vines aside* Ladies first~ *smiles lightly*

Soraven: *nods* It does get lonely sometimes, but I'm almost always running into new soquili, some good, some bad. And it's nice to be off on your own sometimes, with no worries about who is demanding attention of you, or things like that. I guess some love it, but I have never been much for it. *smiles, and cautiously steps into the cave, pulling freezing air into her nose to taste it. Though, it was hard to catch any scents except for frozen.*
