There was a rumor. She wasn't going to believe it until she saw it with her own eyes, but she'd heard from a fellow student that there was someone new in the monster dorms who hadn't left his room for days. She didn't want to get her hopes up, but it was this exact amount of time that she had not seen Jericho, and he was a monster... still, it could be anyone.

Yet there she was, in front of the door she'd been directed to, knocking quickly. If anything, she would simply say she'd gotten the wrong door. This wasn't a big deal, she tried to convince herself.

But if it was Jericho.. she was fairly certain she was going to attack him for making her worry so much.

The trip to Christmastown had apparently been much more taxing on the dragon than he initially realized. Soon after venting his frustrations and warming up upon arriving back in Halloweentown, Jericho found himself practically hibernating in his room for quite some time. His body needed the FEAR, especially after all that JOY that he had been exposed to. He hadn't even removed his pin upon arriving to his room so he was in his humanoid form all this time.

Sometime after passing out, he finally awoke but hadn't had the chance to realize just how much time had passed. And it seemed he now had a visitor, as he heard a knocking at his door a few minutes after he regained consciousness. Groaning, he rubbed his head and made his way towards the door. His hair was a mess, and his clothes were tussled and whatnot as he opened the door with half-closed eyes.

"What do yo-" he started to say before he realized who was standing in the doorway before him. Immediately his eyes widened at the sight of the Mindflayer. He hadn't seen Riley at all since the incident with the giant Death Charm. It was rather relieving to see she was alright after that.

"Riley! You're ok!"

Riley let out a hiss, but it was impossible to tell if it was a sound of relief or a sound of anger. It may have been equal parts of both. When she was sure that Jericho really was standing in front of her, she went with her instincts - which was to immediately lurch forward and wrap him up in a hug.

You jerk. She whispered harshly. You're a complete jerk. It's been days since we've been back. I've looked everywhere for you. I thought you- She growled, pulling back from her hug and holding his head between both of her hands. She glared at him eye to eye, and got a good look at him. Then, she let him go, and her chest heaved in a heavy sigh of relief.

Well, she murmured, non-chalance returning to her voice. At least you're not dead. That's good. I guess. Perhaps not as non-chalant as she'd like, after all. She uncurled her arms and crossed them in front of her, in an attempt to act like she didn't care. It was a little late for that.

Though the sight of Riley had done well to increase his mental awareness, he was still on the sluggish side from having just recovered from days of hibernation. Surprised by the sudden hug, Jericho soon relaxed and patted her on the back with a grin. It was definitely good to see she had survived the hell that was Christmas. However the grin faded as her first words were rather harsh.

"Days?" he repeated. Had he really been out that long? His expression softened up somewhat as he could only imagine the concern she might have felt. There was that aloof tone to her voice again, but he had a feeling she was more worried than she had let on here.

"Yeah, I'm alive. The Death Charm was taken down before it could fry me out of the sky. It's good to see you're alright after that," he said, ".. Has it really been days? I could almost swear I came back here yesterday to rest after all that nonsense."

Riley took stock of the immediate area, instantly curious to the surroundings. She shut the door behind her with one foot, and took a few steps around him.

It has indeed been days. And who, exactly, took that monster -down-? She briefly considered that perhaps it had been Jericho himself, but the sheer size of the Death Charm.. she couldn't picture it.

She swiveled around on her heel, and looked at him directly. Are you telling me you've been asleep in this room all this time? You're so lazy. Her voice took on a teasing quality. What am I going to do with such a lazy dragon? I'm not going to carry you to classes in return for the favors you bestowed upon me at Christmastown. She chuckled softly, and reached her hand out to rest it on his shoulder. Her voice lost it's tease as she continued in a more earnest tone.

Honestly, though. I really appreciate all that you did for me when we were there. I'll make it up to you, some day.

Stepping out of the way to let her in, Jericho turned while she walked around him.

"It was one of the residents of Christmastown; the snow ninja, Jingleberry," he replied, "As unbelievable as it may seem.. he literally took out the Death Charm with a single punch."

The dragon was fairly envious of the ninja's power. There was absolutely nothing he could do against the giant monstrosity aside from trying to evade its attacks. He was going to need to do something to try and change that... should something like that ever arise in the future.

"What can I say? All the JOY and running through that freezing weather took a lot out of me," he chuckled before looking up as she thanked him, "You did in a way. I didn't freeze to death, did I? Besides, I wish you didn't have to be burned by the Death Charm... since I managed to get away if you had been with me at the time.. maybe..."

Jericho shook his head. Did he feel a little guilty about that? Perhaps.

"Well I guess that doesn't matter a whole lot now. And ah... welcome to my room? Sorry if it's a little too toasty in here for you."

A single ninja? Riley's eyes widened as Jericho told her the tale. That giant monstrosity, that had rained down death and destruction from on high, was taken down by a single punch from a ninja? I must have this ninja, this.. Jingleberry. Her eyes flickered, as her mind clearly went to work. The experiment.. Malodore's experiment in Christmastown. It might take a very long time before he actually manages to do it, but when he does.. she was going back with him. And she would have Jingleberry on her side if it killed her.

That is some ninja. She whispered in reverence.

She heard just a touch of guilt in his voice, and the hand that rested at his shoulder crept up and patted his cheek gently. I'm alive now. And so are you. That's all that matters. Now, show me around. She dropped her hand and slipped her fingers into his, tugging him forward. And don't sorry about the temperature. I like it hot.

"A single ninja," he repeated, "It's no wonder that ninja managed to take out groups of students single handedly."

Grinning again as she mentioned liking it hot, he just realized that the outfit she was wearing was rather different from the one he last saw her in. It was more... revealing, and Jericho seemed to take notice of certain.. features that didn't seem so prominent before.

"Alright," he nodded while taking her hand to lead her around. The first stop was what seemed to be a heap of treasure essentially. To him it wasn't a whole lot, but it probably was more than what many of the students around here had. It was several feet high and was filled with various items. There were the standard gold goings and jewels, but there appeared to be a few other odds and ends as well, "Ah... this is where I usually sleep. And over there is my dice collection. Along the back wall is some lava.. just kinda a touch of home there, and there's where I do my homework and stuff."

The dice collection mentioned was also a pile of hundreds of various dice. From d3 to d100's, they came in all shapes and sizes. A few of them seemed to be made out of precious gems or other highly valuable materials as well.

The workplace had a metal desk with a laptop in a box. There seemed to be a number of fans around there... likely to keep the machine from overheating easily in the room. There were a couple scattered books around that area as well; most were on the desk or ground instead of in the small bookshelf near there.

There weren't many decorations in the cavern-like room, unless the small lava pool could be considered as such.

Do you sleep on the treasure? She eyed the pile suspiciously, cocking her head. Was that comfortable for him? It -looked- beautiful, but.. ow.

You have such lovely collections. Such a good hoarder. She bent down and scooped up some of the dice, letting them roll within her palm. There is a gaming club you might be interested in, here at Amityville. If you haven't signed up yet, you should. She let the dice fall between her fingers back into the pile, and then straightened up.

And lava. Inside of the building. That sounds so deliciously dangerous. Who lives in the dorm below you? I wonder if they realize the danger they're in. She chuckled gently, while getting a good look at the pool. If I ever have something, or someone, I need to get rid of in a hurry, I'll be paying you a visit. She squeezed his hand as she spoke, clearly putting forth a tone of amusement - although in truth, she was dead serious.
PostPosted: Tue Jan 11, 2011 7:34 pm

"Yeah. Though.. usually in my true form."

His body was feeling a little stiff at the moment actually thanks to sleeping on it in the human body for days straight. It wasn't anything too bad, though.

Now, if Riley had been any other person, Jericho would have likely snapped at her for touching his dice without permission. But, he let it slide here, making the exception for her. Besides, the mention of a gaming club caught his attention. He was going to have to see if he could look into this when he had the chance.

"I'll have to check that out. As for who lives below me... that's a good question. But I doubt it'll burn through any time soon," he chuckled, "The lava does work pretty good for quick disposals."

The dragon thought she was joking. If only he knew.

"That's about all there is to my room. There's not much to it, but it's enough for me... Except maybe the treasure. Could never have too much of that."

Somehow, Riley instinctively knew that there were certain things Jericho would let her touch that no one else should do without asking. Otherwise, Riley wouldn't be so bold around him. This was further evidenced by how easily she took his hand, and was comfortable with his touch.

Well it's a lovely room. She assured him, moving to stand in front of him. It's very fitting. I'm glad you have what you need to make yourself at home. You know, you should come and see my dorm sometime. No one's come to visit me yet, which is the way I like it. But for you, I'd make an exception. Her eyes crinkled at the corners in lieu of a smile.

I'd mind the Cthulhu, though. If you ever do choose to come visit me. It bites.

She led him to his treasure-bed, and eyed it hesitantly, before gesturing to it with one hand. May I sit down?

Nodding to her, he went on to sit on the heap of treasure while shifting some of the pointier things away for her. He was fairly aware that metals and the like weren't all too comfortable for most people.. which was why the chair at his desk was -not- made out of gold or anything like that but a fairly normal desk chair.

"I'll be sure to drop by sometime. I came to this school pretty much right before that field trip so I hadn't had much of a chance to get around," he started, "Speaking of... did I miss anything while I was ah.. asleep?"

Seeing how he was out for some time, he didn't really see how anyone was after the whole thing. He didn't even know how Amrita was and he was the one to bring her back more or less.

Riley did not presume she was going to be comfortable, sitting on Jericho's treasure. She did it as more of a gesture, than anything else. Her backside settled in, squirming lightly until the coins below her shifted to make a depression for her. Well, she lied smoothly. That's not as bad as I thought it would be. The mound rose in an incline behind her, so she used it as a backrest and leaned back into it. Her hands rested behind her head as a pillow.

Well, yes. Actually. You missed something rather horrendous. You should be glad you stayed asleep. She shuddered visibly. There was a school play. They said they were performing the cultural classic "The Nightmare Before Xmas" but instead they just butchered it. The worst part is.. the reason we were in Christmastown to begin with? Was this dreadful play. They kidnapped Sandy Claws, just to have him on stage.

She shook her head in disappointment. I have never questioned my decision to come to this school more than I did that day.

Furrowing his brow, Jericho listened to the bit about the school play. This did not make him happy to hear.

"Seriously? They made us fight our way through that hellhole of a place for a JACKDAMNED PLAY?!"

Letting out a groan, he banged the back of his head against the treasure pile as he thought on how stupid that was. They hadn't even really gotten away with any real treasure! What a complete waste of time. Well, that wasn't completely true. If it weren't for the trip, he may have not met Riley or the others. They were treasures in their own right, but it still would have been nice to have some more materials.

"What the hell was Hellma thinking with that?"

I'll never know. In fact, I don't even know if I ever do want to know. That woman is crazy. Not the good kind of crazy, no. Just the useless kind.

She stared up at the ceiling, and shook her head. To put us all in danger for something so trivial. So pointless. This is the woman in charge of our education. She rolled her eyes. It will be a wonder if we learn anything at all.

She perked slightly, turning to give him a side glance. Oh, also. I would be careful with those gifts you received while we were in Christmastown. Malodore and I have uncovered some interesting facts concerning the effect that being in this environment places upon them. They should be very unusual by now, wherever you have stashed them. Her eyes crinkled in lieu of smiling. They're charmingly vicious.
