Lahr had to admit that sometimes...he missed L2. He really did. It wasn't really the PLACE itself that he missed...just the people. He missed his wonky family, especially his baby brother. He also missed old Haward and the leopon Haward watched after. But...well, he didn't miss L2 otherwise. The Sanc was peaceful, and welcoming. And it was beautiful and not crowded at all.
The cheetah sighed in relief, smiling slightly. Well...that got his homesickness off his chest. Lahr's yellow eyes closed as he just enjoyed the feel of the wind coming off the lake, bringing with it the scents of the island-colonies. Life was good, and he was going to take advantage of that, and try to hold onto it for as long as he could. It was, after all, the best an L2 brat like him could do.

[cert here when gotten]
Rerena was not the sort of 'ruler' to sit idly and watch things from the background. She preferred being out among her people, getting to know them and what they needed. After all, a ruler had a responsibility to her people, not to herself. For a little, however, she was going to enjoy some time to herself on the shore. Not a lot, just enough to relax a little and center herself.
That plan got dashed rather quickly when she noticed another feline in that patch of shoreline. And it was one she recognized. After all, she'd welcomed him into the Sanc a season or so ago. Rerena approached the other carefully, smiling. "Lahr. It's a pleasure to see you again." It really was, even though her plan had been derailed! She remembered he was an entertaining cheetah who smiled easily.

The cheetah started a bit, as he hadn't heard the Crown Princess until she spoke up. He relaxed, reminding himself that this was the Sanc and not L2. Smiling at Rerena, he nodded. "Good t'see ya, too, Princess. How're ya doin' this fine 'n' wonderful day?" There wasn't a trace of sarcasm in his voice. He really was happy to see the Crown Princess. She was, after all, a good feline. She seemed to really care about her part of the pride, and he'd yet to talk with anyone in the Sanc that disliked her.

"I'm doing well, Lahr." She moved to sit next to him, tail wrapping around her pink and white paws neatly. "I saw you here, so I thought I might check up on you. Have you been doing well? Settling in with no troubles?" She hoped so. Rerena promoted acceptance of any who sought refuge in the Sanc, but she knew there were older members who thought outsiders were nothing but trouble. She prayed they hadn't given Lahr any trouble.

Lahr nodded, grinning brightly. "I've been doin' pretty good! No one's really made me feel unwelcome, 'n' I've made some good friends. D'ya know Nuit le'Croix 'n' Saburo Kihaku?" Despite Saburo's general grumpiness at Lahr, the cheetah knew his leopard friend really did care.

Oh! She did know who he was talking about! Rerena nodded, laughing softly. "I do know them. They're quite an odd pair. And if I remember correctly...Nuit has a mate from outside the pride?" She hadn't met the female personally, but she sounded like a good lioness from the stories she'd heard.

"He does indeed, Princess!" He'd talked with her, actually, not all that long ago. "She's a nice gal, has a good head on her shoulders. She doesn' really get pacifism...but she doesn' cause trouble, and respects Nuit's wishes. Shame she'll only be a visitor." He chuckled. "Sabby'll certainly pull Nuit outta any funks while she's gone, though!"

Rerena blinked. "Sabby?" Who was Sabby? It took a moment for the nickname to register. "Oh! Saburo." She smiled sheepishly. She hadn't used a nickname since she was a cub! So hearing one used was...interesting. "Yes, I'm certain he'll keep Nuit from getting too depressed. And it is a shame the lioness won't be staying. So...have you found anything to keep yourself busy with?"

It was Lahr's turn to look sheepish. "'Fraid not, Princess. Other than makin' sure Nuit and Sabby don' get too bored." He sighed, ears drooping. "I'm really only good at fishin' and gettin' others t' smile. Or annoyin' 'em and gettin' 'em to worry about sommat other than their problems."

"That sounds like something to do to me." Rerena gave him a calm smile. "Fishing is always a good thing. And it never hurts to help take the minds of others from their troubles. It helps them deal with things. Not everyone has the talent to make others smile or forget their worries." To her, it sounded like he had found his place in the Sanc.

The cheetah looked thoughtful...then nodded and grinned. "Yer right! And it's nice, t' make others smile or laugh when they've had a bad day. Even if it's me they're laughin' at sometimes." He could deal with that. Even if he pouted about it when it happened. "So...wha' brought ya down here originally, Princess?"

Rerena almost tried to change the subject. But Lahr was such a friendly cheetah...she couldn't bear to not answer his question. "I was originally planning on relaxing a little down here. It's such a nice day, and I'm afraid I haven't had much time to myself lately." She didn't entirely mind it but...well, sometimes a girl just needed some free time! "I had to make sure you were doing all right when I saw you, though."

Lahr was flabbergasted. He was not used to having someone high up actually worry about him. At all. When he first showed up, that was understandable. But...now? A season later? It was...surprising. His look slowly went into a grin again. "Well! Let's have you some fun than! Come on! I know this great spot where you can frolic in the water while I catch you a fish!" He started off, feeling rather lighthearted. She had worried about him, now he was going to do something good for her!

Rerena was uncertain for a moment, wanting to decline the offer on principal. But...it was a good offer. And she did need a little time where she wasn't worrying about things. So she nodded and smiled again, and started after him. Mind, she didn't intend to 'frolic' in the water, just rest a bit.
