"Let me go!!" Joey shouted, jerking away from the evil gym teacher. Seemingly unaffected he simply sighed, dropping her onto her feet. She went for a groin kick but he ended up catching her leg, and black fire sprouted from his hands, burning her right above the ankle. She instantly fell back, and went to grab her katana which was strapped to her back, but when she looked up the teacher had vanished in a flare of black flames.
Joey, shocked and uncomprehending, was left there alone for the moment.

((Welcome back ^^))  Some shadows slowly gathered and Zeph formed next to Joey, laying on the ground. "I'm sorry I..." He cringed in pain, the holes were still in him, "I couldn't protect you." he said.

Joey looked to Zeph, and she sighed lightly. "I didn't know the teachers were such d-bags here. But I'm just glad you're okay." her eyes fell on the holes where he had been wounded from the light. "Oh... This is all my fault..." she whispered. "I'm so sorry Zeph..."

Zeph dragged himself up. He hugged her from the side and put his head against the back of her neck, "I told you it was ok." he said, starting to lose consciousness.

"It'll be fi..." he started, but he collapsed on the ground behind her. His head was hot and he was breathing heavily. The holes in him that looked like they were healed were now smudged between being black and the normal color.

Joey gasped, she turned and was kneeling beside him. "Oh my gosh, Zeph? Please wake up!" She cried, looking around frantically. No one was around to help though. So she looked back to him and placed her hands gently on the sides of his head. It was hot to the touch, she noticed. "Zeph? Talk to me, what's wrong?" Joey asked, keeping her voice steady.

The sun started to set and Zeph slowly started to disappear, becoming harder and harder to see. "I wish I could have stayed with you longer." he said as he kissed Joey. He hadn't noticed that the sun was about to set.

Joey felt tears streaming down her face. She was losing possibly the only person in the world that actually cared about her. She silently cried, and held Zeph close to her as he became transparent. "I've got you, you're not alone... I love you, Zeph." she whispered, watching as the last slivers of the sun sank below the horizon, and the sky turned from purple to dark blue.

Zeph's eyes opened wider when the sun came out, and instantly he was whole again. Shadows from around them started to spiral into him, fully healing the wounds on him caused from the light. He smiled after that, and immediately hugged her.
