The room in the castle called the Great Hall was intended for the main meeting and dining area and used by everyone who lived in the castle. The Great Hall was a large one-room structure with a loft ceiling which was located in the Inner Ward. At the end of the Great Hall was the Dais which was a raised platform for the high table where the highest ranking Lord and Nobles were seated. The Lord's family at first slept at the extreme upper end of the hall located beyond the dais. These sleeping quarters were only separated by a curtain or a screen. This sleeping arrangement quickly changed and private rooms were added to a castle called the Lord and Ladies Chamber.
At the end of the Great Hall was the Dais which was a raised platform for the high table where the highest ranking Lord and Nobles were seated. In medieval England salt was expensive and only afforded by the higher Nobility. These Lords sat on the dais at the 'high table' and their commoner servants at lower trestle tables. The salt was placed in the centre of the high table and only those of the appropriate rank had access to it. Those less favoured on the lower tables were "beneath) the salt".

Eponine Culver Eponine walked into the Great Hall, it seemed to be empty, she laughed with excitement, and skipped around the large table, this had been her most adventurous adventure yet. She had an urge to get onto the table and jump, but that would be childish, she examined the decorations of the room and smiled, it was so fancy here, "Hmm." she mumbled.
She took a few steps around the room, it was bigger than her own house together. She sat at the table and smiled, closing her eyes, if only she live in a house like this. She stood back up, oh yes...this is where Arthur lived. she poked at a plate that was displaying, and knocked it to the ground, "Oh... No." she whispered.

Evelyn hurriedly opened the door to the Great Hall, to clean up, only to find a girl by one of the broken plates. "Excuse me." She said, taking a step closer. "But may I ask why you are in here?" She pulled her hair over to one shoulder with one hand, and waited for a response. She girl had brown hair unlike her blonde, and piercing blue eyes like hers. It surprised her that another girl would be in the castle. But did look a tad; well, older.

Eponine Culver Eponine just stared at first then looked at the broken plate, and back up at Evelyn, who was she? She needed to think up a good, believable lie. She cleared her throat and looked at Evelyn, "My name is Eponine." she stated, true, "I was invited here." she added, lie. It was like playing a drama game, she stuck her hand out, "It's nice to meet you." she said quietly.

Evelyn nodded. "And by whom were you invited by?" She asked, streching her hand out and skaking thegirl's before letting go. Her hand fell back to it's original place by her side, anxious for the awnser.

Eponine Culver Damn, Damn, Damn! Eponine's mouth hung wide open as if she were going to saying something right away. She frowned then looked up, hmm, lie!
She folded her arms across her chest, "The Prince guy." she stated. She kept her poker face on, but was prepared to make a run for it, she smiled, "I see he's not around." she added quickly, inching around Evelyn, "So, I'll leave, sorry for the burden..." she trailed off.

Evelyn scoffed, laughing. "I'll strike you a deal here, alright?" She asked, "If you tell me the real reason you were here, I won't drag you to the dungeon and leave you at the mercy of the king."

Eponine Culver Eponine nodded, and laughed a bit, "Positive." she leaned her weight onto one leg and smiled, "I wouldn't come into a place like this and steal or plan to kill anyone." she stated, "That's just downright...mad." she smiled wider, "I got bored."
