Julius began to carefully set up the ritual. The light of the moon shone down onto the snow at his hoofs, illuminating his work. The unfortunate soul before him had met an accidental end earlier that day. The snow was still red and seemed to him that it almost glowed in the moonlight. He was totally unphased by the gruesome site before him, and his face remained solemn and serious. This was his work, what he was trained to do.
He nosed open the clock that hung at his neck, revealing a secret compartment that contained a small bag and his wrench. First he took the bag in his mouth and walked a circle around the body. He stepped lightly so the snow only made a soft crunch as he stepped. As he walked he tipped the bag upside down to spill the herbs onto the crisp snow. When he returned to his starting point he put the bag back into it's compartment and carefully inspected the circle he had drawn, making sure it was completed accurately. He drew a long breath, then puffed it out, watching his steamy breath raise up from his mouth. He closed his eyes, preparing himself to recite the rites.

The moon hung low in the ink colored sky as the the soul less appearing eyes searched for something to bid her time with, it was rare for her to find herself rather restless but she was. She let a low hum of a dirge linger in her voice as she made her way around the ghost lit like trees that seemed to reach their ugly knotted hands to the sky. Tinkerbell loved how the moon turned even the most beautiful like landscape into a haunted wonder land. The only thing that would make the area even more beautiful was the sight of some pitiful creature breathing one last breath of air before their life passed on into the other world.
However no one was around, or so she thought as her ears twitched towards the direction of a rather familiar noise and scent. Someone wasn't too far away lingering in the scent of blood however the sound of a weeping voice was lacking. There was no sound either of someone crushing the bones of their kill leaving Tinkerbell rather curious of what was going on. Following the sounds of the movement the white colored mare noticed a stallion moving around the corpse of a creature. He seemed to rather inclined to dumping herbs and playing in the dirt instead of showing interest in what was in front of him, didn't he know that he couldn't do anything to those who were dead? Stupid, however Bell felt the need to linger longer she wanted to see what he would and could do.

After a moment of meditation Julius began to speak slowly in a rhythmic fashion. "This is a place which is not a place, in a time which is not a time, halfway between the worlds of the Gods, and of mortals." He stepped slowly around the circle and his voice slowly rose up over the snow clad land. His hoofs planted in the snow of the west he chanted, "As the sun sets, so this soul has left its mortal form." Bowing his head once and then moving on to the south side of the circle. "As life is a day, so this soul passes into the night." He bowed his head again before continuing.
Pausing again in the east he continued his ritual, "As all that falls shall rise again, so this soul will be reborn." His head bobbed down as he stepped along his circular path coming to his final stop in the circle. "As the Earth forms us, so this soul shall return to the earth." Now he touched his nose to the snow covered grass before turning to face the corpse and spoke directly to it. "You are dead. None should ever die alone. I am here to help you with your death."
