Aeria was in a foul mood. It had been a week since her last run-in with the negaverse agent that carried a horse-stick. But her inefficiency infuriated her. Normally, such an incident might be brushed off but every time Lumiere took a step on her injured foot, the thobbing pain constituted as a constant reminder to her failure and lack of battle experience.
But remarkably, it hadn't taken too long to heal. In less than a week, the bruise faded in almost half the estimated time. Curious. Aeria didn't even feel a twinge of pain, her foot healed up as if nothing had happened. She took a few testing steps curiously, determining that it seemed suitable enough to leap on.
She jumped up to the nearest building, her hand placed on top of her hat on her head to keep the white hat from blowing with the wind. Quiet night, it seemed.

A quiet night indeed. Not too far from Aeria's vantage point, Sailor Saiph stood on the ground, carefully keeping to the shadows as she watched the people walking by, hurrying to get behind closed doors before the monsters came out to play.
She wanted to reassure those people that she'd help keep them safe, but she knew deep down that they'd never listen, much less believe her. No, if the senshi were to get the people of Destiny City behind them, they'd need a massive, visible victory against the Negaverse. A victory that didn't destroy property or risk lives.
Saiph wanted that victory so badly she could taste it. But she also knew better than to try and find ways of manufacturing something like that. No, for now, it was better to silently patrol and help people out one at a time.
And so she waited.

A dark silhouette in the shadows caught Aeria's eye. Normally, she wouldn't even have caught such a well-disguised figure-- But it was only because she was looking from one of the few perspectives that revealed the shadows were amiss. Any other direction and Aeria would have ignorantly leaped past the other presence.
She came up from the side, where her pristine white fuku could be seen, the breeze lifting her pink ribbon, the sound of bells ringing.
"Who are you?" The question and her tone was simple, like asking the other if she would have liked a cup of tea. but her posture stood readily guarded, a curious frown on her expression. Purple eyes narrowed, one hand holding her hat in place while the other kept her skirt from lifting with the breeze.
One of the many downsides to a scout's uniforms. Short skirts and winter didn't make an ideal combination.

Not so long ago, Saiph would have jumped and yelped as another person jumped down behind her. Now, she simply sighed and turned, silently appraising the girl in front of her and trying not to smile as she held onto skirt and hat.
"Saiph. Who are you?" she fired back, to all appearances completely at ease, as if conversations on deserted back streets were entirely normal. Everything about the other girl's outfit screamed senshi. But to be fair, a lot of Negaverse uniforms screamed senshi too. And under that calm, she was tensing, ready to fight if she had to.

"Aeria." Her shoulders dropped, releasing their previous tension as she walked forward to lean against a nearby wall. Turning her gaze to the side where Saiph stood, she was silent for a few moments.
"Your presence feels different. Sharper.. defined.. In fact, it's somewhat like.." She ended the topic with a low murmur, her hand placed on her chin in a gesture of thought. ".. Might you be one of those super or eternal scouts?" She asked politely, giving the other an equally silent appraisal.
On first impression, Saiph hadn't made a bad one. She lacked the qualities that proved themselves as flaws in other scouts-- Incessant talking and the rashness that came with being new to the job.
Aeria was new to the job as well. But there were other flaws that accompanied the blue-haired female than the typical newbies.

With a wry smile and a bit of a theatrical bow, Saiph nodded and held her hands out, palms up as if to say, yeah sorry can't help it.
"Super Senshi of the Primordial at your service, Aeria. And you're already one better than I was when I started. I hadn't ever heard of Supers or Eternals then."
Granted, it wasn't like she'd had a whole lot of guidance when she'd very first begun. She'd had to figure a lot out on her own and with the help of friends. Perhaps this Aeria had had a councilor to nudge her along. Or she'd just gotten lucky. Who knew.

"I'd wager that you started when there was very little information to be found. Now, it seems to be in abundance." Aeria shook her head, one hand lifted to flip her hair to the back of her shoulder.
She couldn't deny that this girl's "Super" status intrigued her, sparking a tiny flame of curiosity. Aeria predicted that her request might have sounded rather odd to anybody's ears other than their own, extending a practiced smile towards Saiph.
"Would you consider a sparring match? As they say, learn from your superiors-- I'm reluctant to admit but in this case, it's the simple truth. As much as I'd prefer to get back to a normal semblance of my life, it seems I'm not going to get out of this one." If she was forced to go up against it, it meant that she couldn't lose. Even if she simply wanted to return to modeling and move on to higher heights of acting or singing, none of those goals would be accomplished if she was dead.
".. Besides, the difference between us intrigues me. I, for one, would like to see the difference between a regular and supered scout. Is it as impressive as they say?"

For a moment, Saiph was nodding in agreement to Aeria's assumption of the lack of information at first. Then, her head paused mid-nod as she stared wide eyed at the blue haired girl. Was she crazy? No, she couldn't be crazy, just... not terribly informed.
"Well," she began in a slow, worried voice. "I don't know about impressive, but your attacks do get stronger and sort of.. evolve, I guess you could say. But honestly, unless you're really good at dodging or you particular want broken bones, I wouldn't recommend trying to spar with me."
Certainly, no other senshi had ever requested to spar with her before. But then again, most senshi by now knew exactly what her attacks could do. Clearly, Aeria was a total newbie.

"Broken bones.. Oh, I didn't mean with magic. Magic is quite the risky endeavor. No, we'd leave the battlefield with scrapes, cuts and injuries on both sides." She shook her head, reflecting that her crystal attack.. certainly wasn't something she needed to spar to improve.
"I meant some physical sparring." Lumiere corrected her previous question, responding to Saiph's worried tone. "I thought a higher rank might have a bit more physical experience in terms of offense and defense-- something I lack. I came out tonight in hopes of increasing my reflexive time in attacking and defending. I'm afraid that flaw earned my opponent a chance to flee in my last encounter." She said, with a hint of bitterness.
A silly lieutenant that only owned a stick with a horse's head. How in the world did she allow such a inexperienced negaverse agent get away? Especially after falling for her bear trap trick-- It was inexcusable, really. She should have seen through that trick.
