It looks like it's mostly atheists or agnostics, with a few pagans...Where are the Christians, or even Muslims and Hindus? confused Don't they make up the majority of world religions? How can you debate anything with such a limited base? I lurk, but I don't want to say anything because there's such a limited base and I don't want to against ten people at once.

As long as your intentions are true and your point valid, why fear speaking? I'm sure they don't mean to intimidate you. I know we've got our share of haters, but use their flames to light your cigarettes and just keep rolling, you know?
Actually, I've noticed a lack of Christians and Muslims around the boards I lurk around, but that's probably because I hang around the Atheist board. Just saying.

I just get nervous...didn't someone quit over an issue about civilness or something? Everyone also seems to know a lot; I like reading it, but I feel like I'd be in over my head. I'd just like to see some other perspectives.

There's plenty of religious members here, it's just not black and white.

I don't like to think of this guild as all of the different religions coming "against" each other, I like to think of it as coming together and then discussing how lifestyles are affected depending on your belief. There's debating there, obviously, it's in the guild's name, but I think trying to see from another religion's point of view is a big part of that also.

Ha, seriously rmcdra. You provide a lot of the Christian side.
I'd have to say that there are many religions here, but most of them know a good bit about Christianity so they "make up" for it.

I can name several active Christians on here, I think they're pretty evenly matched with the atheists.
As for other religions not too many end up showing up, but you do have to bear in mind most of the members of Gaia are American and the primary religion in America is Christianity, so it's not surprising that the other religions that show up are fewer.

Yeah, I am a Christian.
Not quite a fundamentalist though...
I just haven't found anything I am real interested in posting in lately. The "validate your side" discussions have burned me out honestly, which is pretty much all I see that is recycling in the active threads. Why try proving things that can't be proven outside of personal experiences?
I haven't thought of any topics to start recently either. I haven't had much spare time recently to ponder the greater truths of the universe. LOL
If I see anyone whose ideas coincide with mine "getting ganged up on", you can bet I'll be there. If it looks like they are holding their own alright, or if it is one of the over-posted issues I am tired of, I'll probably just stay out of it.

I think you need to be here longer, because I am a Muslim...I know a lot of Christians...And there are a handful of Jews.
I think Christians, Atheists & Agnostics do make up a large majority.

I've seen a variety of people from all belief systems posting and lurking in this guild. I am a Christian. I try to post, but most of the time, I lurk until I find a topic that interests me.

I mostly lurk of late. I just haven't seen anything that really interested me as a discussion. A lot of the topics seem directed at atheists and Christians and I'm a pagan.

I'm none of the above, and mostly lurk. I like reading and seeing different view points. I don't always have my own thoughts to contribute however. Or I maybe have a thought but want to go look up something first and then get distracted and don't post. This happens more frequently then I should probably admit.
I think the religious discussions on Gaia as a whole tend towards specific groups (Christian, Atheist, Agnostic, Pagan, Muslim and the occasional Other Religion - actually come to think of it I see very few Jewish threads... must not hang out in the right places) because this is more or less how the population of gaia shakes out. And people are more likely to talk about the religion they are most familiar with. I know a little about a lot of different religions, but usually not enough to make strong statements about any of them.
