User Image
It was going to be a beautiful day. Didn't matter what the sky looked like, didn't matter what the wind felt like, the temperature, nothing. It was going to be a beautiful day because he was determined to enjoy it. Whatever happened, he'd see the best in it. Thinking that way, he'd already met so many fun new Soqs here. Maybe he should have come here ages ago. Well, no maybe about it, he should have. Maybe. He slapped a smile on his face and pranced along. Happy. It was a good day, everything was beautiful, there was art in everything and he was having fun.

User Image Amaya crouched in the bushes, fully hidden and waiting. Her trap was cleverly set up and hidden, a deep pit that would swallow anyone who was foolish enough to step on the leafy carpet that hid it from view. She had mastered this particular trick when she was younger, so she knew it was perfect. It was well thought out. Now all she needed was a vict....er....friend to test it.

A pretty day, pretty leaves on the ground, pretty leaves on the tree... Wait a second... He looked at the leaves on the ground, then up at the tree. They didn't maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa OW! He found himself sliding down, then landing in a pit. A trap. He should have realized, if he had noticed the leaves earlier... But what was the point to the trap? A friendly prank, or something darker?

Laughter filled the air as Amaya lost control. She giggled as she inched forward to peer down at him.

He heard the laugh as he peered upward. Friendly prank. He could handle that then, "Mind giving a fella a hoof up?" he called to her.

"Sure," she giggled. "Just......a.... minute...." She dissolved into more giggles.

Yeah.... he knew what he was going to do as soon as she passed him a rope. Was it petty? Yeah. Was it small of him? Yeah. Would it make the situation worse? Yeah. Could he resist? Nope. She was going down... or rather... coming down to join him. He kept the grin off his face. She liked pranks so much? Fine, he could play too. And she'd land on him, so not as far to fall and a soft landing, a tame prank then hers, but would catch her unawares. It should, anyhow.

When she finally got herself under control, she nudged a coil of rope into the hole, still grinning and mentally patting herself on the pack.

"Got a good grip?" he called up, once the rope was in reach.

"Come on up," she giggled in response.

Oh yeah, even if he had trusted her before, he wouldn't trust that now. The problem is, whatever she had plotted could be just as bad for his plan as for if he had actually intended to just climb up. But in case he was playing this straight and just still laughing over his being in the whole in the first place, pushing now could tip her off. So what could she be up to? Well, the rope could be attached to nothing. No, that would make no sense, after all he'd discover that before putting any weight on it if he were climbing up. to a stone, so that he'd pull it in after himself? Well, that was a danger he'd have to face either way, since the alternative was to stay down here until some one trust worthy came along. He had to hope she was the one holding the rope. He took it in his teeth and... PULLED. If she were planning to brace the rope herself, that should pull her in after her, giving the prankster a taste of her own prank, however, he was having serious doubts as to if she would fall for it or not.

The sharp yank would pull him up a bit because he was right. She had tied it to something. She'd tied the other end around a tree trunk well before he had ever come along, and just just tossed in the free end. She'd peer over the edge to grin down at him, with an almost angelic look on her face. One that didn't quite go with her personality.

He gave the smallest of twitches. She was playing it straight, and consequently, that made it harder for him to mess with her. If course, he was in this hole because of her in the first place. That was fine, he was good at improvising. Slowly he began to climb, not fully trusting the vine, but having little choice, as remaining in the hole had little appeal. For one thing, it would be hard to get revenge from down there.

The vine would remain steady until he gets up. She'd would stay at the top, still fighting with giggle fits to keep from breaking out into full laughter. She did so love when a good prank went flawlessly.

Once he was near the tip, he dug in his hooves the smallest bit, wouldn't hold him for more then a second, but a second was all he needed. He let go of the vine as he pulled his head up, grabbing her hair in his teeth. He fell, pulling her with him. Good thing about the rope being anchored, they'd be able to get out. Funny how he hadn't thought of that before....OOOFFF! He'd probably land first, and under her.
