User ImageClermeilli-Pie had saved a bit of her hunt for a certain lion that had not shown at the Pride meal. She had figured he would rise by then, but something either had kept him asleep or kept him away from the meal. She carried the meat in her muzzle as she went to look for Kaym'itan. After seeing him come in the way he had that morning, and his comment about not eating while he was out, she was determined to make sure he ate before he went out again.

Clermeilli-Pie was just about to give up her search when she found him. He was on his way out of Home Tree, so she had caught him just in time. She laid the haunch of her evening kill down in front of him and gave him a stern look. "You were not at the evening meal, I noticed. Eat." She looked determined to stand over him to make him do so if she had to. She did not think that she could take him in a fight, but she was no less convinced that if she gave him a stern enough look he would eat just to make her happy.

The lioness had learned that look from her own mother and used it on her cubs. Now the look was being applied to a full grown lion that stood a good head taller than herself. The golden eyes did not waver as she sat in his way and nosed the meat toward him. "If you do not eat when you are out, then I shall make sure you do eat before you go out." She sat tall and tried to make herself look imposing as she stared at him. She really did not succeed in looking scary, but she might have succeeded in looking a bit regal.

Kaym'itan lifted an eyebrow, and amused expression crossing his muzzle as Clermeilli-pie threw down the chunk of meat as if throwing down a challenge to a fight in front of him, and using the same tone on him his mother had so very many turns before. It always amazed him how females could use that tone as easily as he could use his claws to let you know you were in trouble, or close to it. Though how he could be in trouble for sleeping his normal hours he was not sure. However, looking at the Huntresses para-language it appeared he was.

Kaym'itan resisted the urge to chuckle, but only barely. Clermeilli just seemed so very young some days, despite having two cubs, or perhaps he just felt that old, and that was what he found amusing about the whole situation. A youngster scolding him, though he was not that much older then she in years.

"Oel ngati kameie, Sister," he rumbled at her, placing paw to forehead and bowing slightly, " Nga nìltsan fì'u txon?" the Scout asked politely as he sat back on his hunches, his tail curled over his paws as his crimson eyes regarded her calmly.

If she wished him to eat, then she would have to behave properly. Meals should always involve civil and warm conversation, or what was the point?

* I see you, Sister, I take it you are well this night? *

Clermeilli-Pie pulled herself up to look a little bigger and chuckled at his polite greeting. "I see you, Brother, and yes, I am well tonight. How are you yourself?" She might not often speak the formal language of the Pride, but she did make sure to use proper format anyway. "I do not mean to be pushy, but I would not wish you to forget to eat. It is not good for your health, Brother." She remembered his name, but she wasn't sure she was allowed to address him by it.

Of course, Clermeilli-Pie could have probably found out his rank to use in addressing him, but it just seemed so... unfriendly? She was not sure she was allowed to address him by his name, but she certainly did not wish to seem distant and cold by using a title or rank for him. The lioness tilts her head to the side and regards the lion a bit longer. Her determination was no less, but her stance relaxed a bit.

He did not seem like he was going to bolt without eating like an idiot, so no need to be ready to pounce him. Had he been one of her friends like Zimo, she would have batted at him playfully by now and told him to just eat and not worry so much about her. She just didn't think this lion would take too kindly to her being so familiar with him without his friend around. That had been a rare occurrence earlier she was sure.

Kaym'itan stifled the amused chuckle that wanted to give itself voice at the obviously perplexed young female, Ewya above, had he ever been so young?

" Irayo, Sister. For looking out for this poor night scout, a full meal is a rare treat before my patrol." The male gave her his typical half smile, " However, eating alone is never pleasant, would you care to join me Sister?"

He waved one massive paw toward the eating area, before he bent down to gather the hunch in his mouth. Nodding to her to take the lead, he waited patiently for the young huntress to move forward.

The eating area, of course, was empty by this time. Most of the pride was either enjoying a quiet evening with their families/mates, or turned in for the night. Clermeilli-Pie would have been off with her cubs sleeping if it had not been for this. She doubted the cubs would mind since it meant they got to spend extra time with Jubes before being chased to their beds. If Jubes didn't chase them their herself, Clermeilli would enjoy chasing all of them including Jubes to bed when she was done here.

The lioness pads forward and leads the way to the eating area to sit down again and look back at Kaym. "It should not be a rare treat, but a normal occurrence, 'poor night scout.'" She let a soft smile creep onto her muzzle. "I am sure you could find better company for your meal than I, but I certainly will not protest sharing such good company." She was so very tempted to flirt, but was trying very hard not to over step her boundaries with him.

Kaym'itan followed her to the eating area, a chuckle escaping him as he set down his meal and made himself comfortable around it.

" You forget Sister who my usual dining companion is, you are far easier on the eyes, and much smarter." There was a fondness in his voice that spoke volumes to the deep bond the two males shared, like true brothers of blood and not just of friendship.

Leaning in he took a bite, happy to fill his belly before he had to leave on his night rounds.

Clermeilli-Pie chuckled at the male. "There is nothing wrong with your usual company. You and your friend seem very nice." The lioness ducks her head a little at the compliment of her looks. "I doubt I am smarter than he.. I am not sure I can argue the first, though since to a male I would likely be the better choice for gazing upon." She actually put her front paws out to settle down.

Kaym did not seem to mind her, but she was pretty sure he did not mean the easy on the eyes comment as flirting. There was something in the way he said it that showed his comment was more to make fun of his friend than to hit on her. She was glad now she had not taken the temptation to flirt. The male was not likely to take it so well.

"I do wonder at the fact that you and your friend are both such handsome strong males, but neither seems to have a mate and cubs. And yet, a lioness like myself gets such luck as cubs. I think you boys must be slacking if I can beat you to such things." She laid down and watched him with amusement. The comments were meant to be playful and teasing but not flirtatious.

Kaym'itan swallowed the piece of meat he had been eating, and snorted gruffly, " Toruk is almost pretty enough to be easy to look at, but you are right, a female is far less shaggy."

The night scout tore off another bite, chewing thoughtfully as she teased him, swallowing he chuckled, " Hardly slacking Sister, more like not finding the time. He and I grew into adulthood during the wars. So many of our Brothers and Sisters were killed, and others...well, others are not sure what to do with two soul lost males."

He sighed heavily, " Toruk seems happy enough, waiting for young Jubes to grow into her fur. I am happy for them both, as I am for you and your cubs."

Clerm started to say something and paused for a moment. She wondered if she should say what she almost quipped out. Probably not. It would not sound right to mention Roth and that situation, she did not think. "Toruk is certainly is pretty to look at, but so are you. I would think there would be plenty of females to know what to do with you. I would just pester you to eat."

She purred and looked smug at that. "Then again, I would guess that you to 'lost souls' think of me as more a lost sister than a potential mate..." She had not realized that Toruk was interested in Jubes. With the way Jubes had pretty much become one of her cubs or at the very least a little sister, Clerm's protective streak tried to come up. She squashed it down some, but not the whole way.

"I did not realize Toruk liked young Jubes so much... That must be whom she has been mooning over, then." She would not speak ill of the age difference. Obviously the older lion was willing to wait until Jubes was old enough, so it made no difference. Clerm had faith he would not be doing something he should not until she was fully an adult rather than when she was still an adolescent.

Kaym'itan finished his breakfast in a few more bites before he turned his calm crimson eyes on her, " Toruk will be careful with Jubes. He will treat her with the care and attention that such a gift from Eywa should be. We both have seen far to much death to not see a second chance when it is given into our paws."

He reached out a large paw, laying gently across the female's shoulders, " Besides, if he hurts her. I will kill him." His tone was deadly serious, but the humor in his eyes showed he was teasing...mostly.

Standing he shook out his mane and fur, the inclined his head to Clem, " Ikou again Sister, it is rare I get so good a meal before my 'day' begins. It was much appreciated."

Leaning over he licked her cheek affectionaly , like he had his own younger sister when she was alive, " Rest well tonight, Eywa hold you in her arms."

With that, the large male took his leave, his dark fur quickly being lost within the jungle's night.
