 Poi's little family was always much louder than what was necessary. At the time being however, Poi's stomach was roaring a sound so loud it trumped even Baji's booming voice. It suddenly came to his attention that the cub was more than a little hungry. Supposing it was time to hunt, because Celile didn't appear to be stopping any time soon, Poikilo broke away from his small family to snag something small to tide him over. He'd share the remains with his brothers. The little meal might even keep Baji's mouth preoccupied for once.
The bright colored cub crouched to the earth and dove gracefully into the nearest cover. Almost instantly, he caught a grasshopper in his mouth, crunching the legs away and swallowing the rest. He already felt the pang being dulled, but the squirming bug wouldn't be enough... Poikilo took a whiff of the earth, and caught the scent of a foreign animal. Poi wasn't picky about what it was... as long as it was smaller than him, it was considered a meal. The cub stalked on, peeking through the foliage with his bluish eyes...

It was the first time in a long while that Sihisevaliekki had managed to slither away from the loud crazy lion she called a friend. Of course it was to be expected, since he did ask her to scram so he could have some alone time with that pretty new lioness he had sort of adopted. It was good for him. Maybe she would calm him down where Sihi had failed to.
As much as the snake liked to admit she was the calm to his storm, she couldn't always keep a lid on the rascal. She chucked at the thought, her forked tongue flickering in and out of her mouth as she did so. Silently she slithered along, searching for something to eat.
She had all but slithered into a bush to stop to hunt a mouse, the only thing that could be seen of her was her tail tip sticking out of where she just entered the bush. She was quite a large snake after all, not the biggest, but definitely not the smallest either. Though by the tiny bit of her tail that stuck out, one would think she was as small as a garden snake.
As the rest of her body grew still, the tip of her black tail began to flick back and forth, signaling she was preparing to strike upon the unsuspecting mouse. However, she was quite oblivious to what was sneaking up behind her....

There it was. Poikilo could see it clearly now. Or the tail end of it, at least. It looked to be a garden snake. Or perhaps an extra fat rat. Either way, it'd make a perfect meal for him.
A grin split the little cub's blue-striped cheeks as he crept closer, extending his claws to mark the earth as he went. It was tempting to taunt the creature, to torture it with the last words it'd ever hear... but he knew far too well that it'd just alert it of his presence... and then most likely, the thing would be gone. And Poi would be left without a meal at all.
Finally when Poikilo decided he was close enough, he sprang into the air silently. His white paws aimed towards the black shadow within the bush where the tail would lead. Then he waited for gravity to do it's job and bring him down until there was a juicy slab of meat impaled in his claws.

Sihi was just moments from attacking. The mouse was in her site and her tongue flickered anxiously. With a silent hiss, she poised to strike.....when she felt something odd about the presence around her. Suddenly, a dark shadow loomed over the entire bush. Her meal was now gone, and something was descending on her quicker than lighting.
Darting to the side as fast as she could, the snake uncoiled herself so that whatever was incoming would at least miss her vitals. And thought it was a narrow escape, she had avoided any contact....so far. But what her green eyes beheld was a small, brightly colored leopard cub. Letting out a hiss, she gave a warning strike at any point she could reach on the cubs body. Not aiming to bite, just scare him to back off a little.
"Why, how dare you!" she hissed again, doing her best to slither around his claws and paws so that she could right herself up to her full hight. "Do I look like dinner to you, young lad?" she said defensively.

The cub thudded against the ground, and his grin of triumph vanished from existence. He gazed at the dirt beneath his paws... seriously lacking in any blood or flesh at all. Where had his snack gone?! Poikilo snapped his eyes towards the source of the hiss. The huge serpent before him was not at all what he envisioned it to be. It was... well... huge.
"Gah!!" The pink cub stumbled backwards to avoid the strike, taking in a sharp breath of air. Several more doses of adrenaline made an impact, forcing the cub to his paws and into defensive mode. His fur stood, and his lips curled backwards to expose his threatening fangs. This was a little more than he bargained for!
Poikilo gulped, his ears drooping as he watched the snake appear to grow in size... "I-I'm sorry!" He stuttered, slouching like a terrified kitten. "I thought you... I thought you were a-" Poikilo stopped himself, realizing that calling this serpent a rat might not be the best thing. Who knows what she would do if he offended her further! "I thought you were something else!"

Sihi sighed with a hiss and shook her head. "Ssssomething elssse? Ssssomething ELSSSE?" she hissed again. She was going to strike at him for good measure, but she composed herself. It really wasn't in her nature to be mean, however, the cub had caught her terribly off guard, not to mention scared the living scales off her. She was merely reacting in defense.
But when those green eyes gazed upon the cub, she couldn't help but feel a sort of sense of motherhood swell inside her. Offering a warm smile, as best as a cold blooded reptile could, "There there, its alright deary. Its only natural for your instincts to kick in and well..." she was going to ramble on with this big speech about maturity and instincts and how he had to hunt to survive just like she and that they really weren't all that different, when she stopped to actually look at the creature before her.
He wasn't a lion, like she was used to, being bonded to a rather childish male lion herself, but smaller. A leopard, she thought. She had really only seen a few of those in her life time, but what was equally as odd was that he was pink. And quite vivid too. "My... aren't you a lovely shade of pink. And blue too. Oooh, you are a handsome little fellow if I may say." she grinned and chuckled to herself, slithering a bit closer. "Come here, come here, let me get a better look at you lad. "
