Amrita didn't want to be in her room.
Her room was a terrible place. It had that...that thing in it. That floating smoldering star of death. It reminded her of everything bad that happened in ChristmasTown, and it was something she hoped she could have forgotten. She forgot a lot of things! Why couldn't she forget the absolute terror and stress from a trip to a strange overly JOYful white world? It had taken some great and cunning manuvering to get out of her room without the charm following her; Okay, so she had ran out her door and slammed it shut. Same thing. But the fact was, she was out of her room and soon out of her dorm, taking up a seat on a short cobblestone wall, staring in a blank but oddly worried way straight ahead of her, her reversed hands playing with a fold on her sari.
She wondered if she could get a new dorm room but keep everything in the other room. Start over new. That would have been amazing, really.
More than that, though...she wanted to know where her friends were. Where Lizzy was, where Petro, Christof, Johan...everyone was. She hadn't seen them since materializing in HalloweenTown, and she didn't even know where to start looking for them! Her best bet would be to wait and hope for the best...
But the waiting, coupled with that thing in her room, was probably more stressful than that room of fire.

It was an odd feeling, materializing in Halloween soon after having been burnt to a crisp and sent to an infirmary in the JOY-filled land of Christmas. While the sensation of being blown into FEAR-particles and reassembling was something she would not forget anytime soon, Lizzy could not help but wonder if her body aching was just a product of her own imagination... After all, she had been reassembled correctly - a head, two arms, two legs...
Still, she had spent a good amount of time laying perfectly still in her Dorm, just to be on the safe side. After gathering the energy to write a ridiculously long letter home to a bemused mother, Lizzy was less than thrilled to receive a care package a few days later, with a note attached that said something along the lines of 'Oh, toughen up, dear! Have some necklaces!'
Now, she found herself wandering the school grounds, not quite sure what to do. That was, until she spotted a comrade ahead - a friend who had seen one of the darkest days in her school life through with her recently. Practically running towards the ghoul, the Demoness embraced her in a hug, "Amrita! You're alright and in one piece!"

The sound of her name being called clearly startled her, her zoned expression snapping into focus to look for the source of the voice. She saw the pink hair, and her brain instantly connected the dots fast enough for her expression light up happily and for her arms to open wide.
"LIZZY!" She cried happily, hugging onto the Demoness in a very tight hug, nuzzling her face against her friend. "I...I was...so worried!" She said in a broken voice, so relieved that her friend okay and in one piece that she felt threatened by tears once more. "You weren't there when I woke up and I couldn't find you and I don't know where your room is and..." She cut her rambling off with a little choking breath, not going to let Lizzy go until the Demoness let go of her first.

"I was so worried too! I wanted to look for you but my body felt weird and- and- I'm just so glad that you're alright!" She replied, whining a little at how horrible the whole experience had been. She enjoyed having someone solid to hug; it was comforting. However, it was difficult to talk in that position and with a pout, Lizzy begrudgingly let go and joined her friend in sitting on the wall. She wiggled close to the Undead ghoul and hooked arms with her before sighing.
"I thought everyone was toast for sure when that... That giant dragon appeared," She winced, remembering the incident on Candy Cane Lane; half the students were wiped out by the fiery breath of that beast! She then smiled gently and nodded, "I'm glad you didn't appear in the infirmary though! Christof was there and he was in... Pretty bad shape. He should be fine now though! FEAR fixes everything!"

When the hug ended, Amrita considered whining...but before she could, Lizzy was sitting beside her and their arms locked. How odd, a Demoness fawning over and hooking arms with a child Zombie! The little Vetala didn't mind regardless, Lizzy was her friend and they both needed comforting. Shuffling closer still, she put her head on Lizzy's shoulder, holding onto the Spider Demoness' arm firmly. Something solid to hold onto...was definitely a plus.
"It was horrible." Amrita whimpered out, flashing back to that terrible time when Lizzy urged her to run...and then disappeared. "I...I dunno WHY I didn't end up there...Just...so much fire and...and running!" Sounding broken up and understandably so, Amrita was still mildly amazed that she managed to survive the whole thing, and not once end up in the infirmary. Why couldn't her feet work so well in HalloweenTown?! Apparently pure terror helped her ability to run like everyone else...but still. It was strange.
She was so sure she was useless as a Vetala and a Scareling...and yet she headbutted an elephant so hard it imploded, she may or may not have been the one to bring down the Yellow Scout, and to top it all off she dodged raining fire and outran - and received the very much unwanted spoils from - a Fire Beast. As horrible as it had been, she had experienced quite the amount of luck...and for all that, she still wasn't sure if it was a good thing or not.
"Thank Jack for FEAR! I was so so worried." She repeated, her lip wibbling. "Wh-when you disappeared I didn't know what to do!" Other than run, of course.

"I can imagine so! What was something like that doing in Christmas anyway?" Lizzy frowned; it was like someone just wanted to bring pain and suffering to the students, and looting Christmas town was the excuse. Thinking back to the time in Candy Cane Lane, there was utter chaos - even when she was still there and running about trying not to get burnt, she didn't really know what she was doing... Being afraid really does bring out her instincts to run and survive - especially to run.
"I agree! I mean, I didn't know what was going to happen to me when the fire ball hit too," She admitted sheepishly, patting the Undead ghoul on her head with her free hand as she forced a chuckle, "Being blasted into FEAR particles was not as scary as it sounds... In fact, at least we were 'safe' in the infirmity."
After experiencing the horrors outside of the infirmity, being stuck there sounded - and felt - pretty good at the time. Of course, she felt a little selfish for thinking that, since her friends were out there risking their lives, but she had already 'died' once... And once was enough for her.

"I don't know" Amrita stressed in clear distress, what was left of her lip jutting out in an unhappy pout. She understood the trees and the elves and the toys and the reindeer and the scouts...but a fire beast? That didn't fit. Not at all. The pat to the head was nice, and a little bit of her unhappy whining subsided, her head still leaning against Lizzy's shoulder.
"I'm glad you're not dead." Amrita repeated to her friend, scratching lightly at her own cheek with her free hand, pawing at her eye to get rid of a couple lingering tears and hoping Lizzy wouldn't notice. "When you disappeared I ran...and then...and then I fell, and this ninja stepped in and punched it and it went away. Then this crystal floated to me and..." There was a pause and a bit of a hiccup; terrible memories were terribly fresh still.
"Th-then I woke up in my room." She finished in a tiny voice; she'd passed out cold and she wasn't sure how she even got home, but she was so thankful to have gotten there it was fantastic.
"...What about Petro?" Amrita asked suddenly, looking up at her Demoness friend. "H-have you seen him? ...A-and Johan, and everyone...?" She hadn't seen anyone since waking up!

Maybe its time to not talk about a mysterious fire dragon that had mysteriously appeared in a place that was supposed to be JOYful - and what was that about a ninja? And punching? And crystal? It was starting to get confusing; she was sure she didn't miss that much in that dreadful encounter!
How mysterious!
"I'm glad I'm not dead too," Lizzy nodded with what she hoped was a reassuring smile, holding the Undead ghoul closer to herself as she laid her head on Amrita's head, "And I'm sure that everyone made it back safely! After all, we're made of FEAR and all of us managed to reassemble ourselves even if we had been... Well, out of commission. Plus the gnomes did a headcount before we left that place for good, and I'm sure they wouldn't want to get into trouble with Hellma, so they must had counted properly and made sure everyone was there before leaving!" She nodded again, like she was agreeing with herself.
"Also, speaking of Petro..." Lizzy's voice faded as she paused, not quite sure how to broach the subject; since she asked about the mohawk-horse-boil first, she must be worried about him right? Was this really the right time to ask that question? Then again, she had to make sure that Petro was really the right guy for Amrita! Taking in a deep breath, she straightened up, turning to face the Undead ghoul with a serious expression, "Are you and Petro an item?"
There! She said it!

Hearing about the head count made her feel so much better. If the gnomes and the staff counted everyone there, then her friends were fine! They were all okay, and all she had to do was, well, find them again. It would have to be a random encounter, unless...unless she made posters! That was probably a good idea, too! Make missing posters with her skellyphone number on it so they could call her and tell her they were okay...that would be nice!
Oh, wait, Lizzy was saying something.
Blinking, the little undead lifted her gaze to her pretty friend. Speaking of Petro? Had she mentioned the monster pony? Oh wait, she did, didn't she? Hmm, okay, well...wait, what? An item? What was left of her brow raised in surprise and then furrowed in confusion.
"...Item?" Amrita parroted curiously. "What...does that mean?"

"Well, I mean... Well..." Lizzy looked as confused as Amrita did as she tilted her head and stared back. However, her confusion stemmed from the fact that the Undead ghoul didn't understand what 'being an item' meant. While Lizzy understood that Amrita had taken the body of a child, she had always thought that she wasn't all that young mentally... Then again, could she really be ready for a relationship? Then again, that's why it was important for her to ask! The Demoness chewed momentarily on her lower lip before she continued, "Being an item means being a couple... In short... Well, are you and Petro dating?"
She looked serious as she waited for an answer, failing to consider the fact that she might had jumped to conclusions... She just (chose to) remember seeing Amrita hugging a nearly naked boil, and the boil not even protesting - that was enough evidence for her!

Amrita was older, mentally...but she was also a recluse before coming to school. She studied the important Vetala things, not...relationships; she had enough knowledge of them to pass off as a normal ghoul, but it wasn't enough. Romance novels were foreign to her; she didn't understand how addicting they were, or how the corny actions by those in the novel made your heart melt. Sadly she was lacking, and it was now painfully obvious to her friend.
When it was explained to her though, and the question asked in a blatant manner, she did understand. A dark blush flit on what was left of her face, her lips drawn into a thin line; her expression could very much be described as: O_O
"WHAT? N-no! We're not! That's...that's not it! Why would you think that?!" Her loud, repeated denial probaby wasn't helping the situation, was it?

Normally, Amrita's expression would have caused Lizzy to melt and possibly fawn over the ghoul... Not that she doesn't already do that enough. However, her denial caused Lizzy to be rather relieved at first - and then there was mild disappointment at the fact that no, her friends are not dating despite having had such a physically intimate moment. Still, while part of her wanted to say that Amrita was in denial, she knew that the the ghoul was not one to lie.
"A-ah, really?" It was difficult to tell if she was more disappointed than relieved, or more relieved that disappointed. Perhaps it was a healthy mix of the two, but she didn't look upset at least, "Well, you were clinging onto him quite a lot in Christmas... And he didn't protest... Despite being rather naked..." She begun slowly, the last sentence being said in a hushed whisper, like that was really the cause of the misunderstanding.
Smiling sheepishly and feeling rather silly at having made such a mistake despite having read a number of romance novels, Lizzy bowed her head in shame, resisting the urge to face-palm, "Sorry, I guess I kind of jumped to conclusions... I'm actually sort of relieved that things were not what I thought they were!" She decided to leave the part about her being slightly disappointed out; Amrita did not need to know that.

Had Lizzy been more disappointed than relieved, Amrita would have only been more baffled; she didn't know much about relationships, but she did know it worked best when the two in question looked the same age. There was a pretty clear bodily age gap between her and Petro; even if there was something, it would never work. Besides, a nice guy like Petro was probably already someone else's pony! As it were she was still pretty baffled though, staring up at Lizzy as the Demoness explained how in Halloween she got to that conclusion.
"I...I only started after you left!" Amrita rushed to her own defense, surprisingly eager to clear this misundertanding. "A-and in the warehouse he...he saved me from the fire and I just...couldn't help it." Her lip wibbled and she shook her head somewhat. Clinging to Petro made her feel safe because he'd saved her several times, that was all. But, Lizzy's next set of words just begged the question from the undead's lips:
"...Do you want to be an 'item' with Petro?"

"I'm sorry for leaving! I really am! I'm glad Petro protected you though - I'm thankful!" The Demoness nodded with a pout, not sure if she should tell the Undead the real reason why she had to go hide in the tent; she did feel pretty guilty about leaving so suddenly... She would have felt scared too, if Amrita left as suddenly! She unhooked her arm from the ghoul's and wrapped her arms around her shoulders for a belated apology hug - besides, it was another reason to hug! Not that hugging really required a reason...
However, she was caught off guard by her friend's question. Immediately, she pulled away, mouth slightly open as she shook her head and her out stretched hands at the same time. Ignoring how comedic it looked, Lizzy continued to 'flail' until she found her voice again, putting her hands back on her lap as she blushed slightly, "N-NO! I mean, no - he's a nice boil, but I don't feel that way for him. He's a friend! Just a friend! I'm only relieved because I thought you and Petro were not ready, honest!"
It seems like she's not that great at being convincing either.
"Besides, he's not really... My type..." She finished rather lamely, her voice fading as she twirled a loose lock of hair around her finger - a sign that she felt nervous, but had no idea how to deal with it. This was quite the topic to touch on!

"It's okay." Amrita murmured to her friend, patting her arm again. "I understand! You...you weren't feeling well, so...it had to be done?" It was a very stressful time in the trip, but it was just one of many in the end...and at least the Demoness came back! That was always appreciated. The hug was happily returned, but before she knew it Lizzy was making funny panicked flailing gestures. The little Vetala smiled, giving a surprisingly rare chuckle to her friend.
"Not ready?" She parroted questioningly, her chuckle disappearing into a confused tone. "You have to be ready to be in a couple?" Clearly she needed to read more romance novels. Clearly. Outright asking what all these things were about was making her feel silly and a little bit more of a failure for her age; just because her body was younger didn't mean her mind matched, honest! She was just...unpracticed? So instead, Amrita tried to be clever and decided to ask questions around the subject, and hope she'd understand a little better in doing so.
"Soooo what is your type?" She pressed innocently - honest innocence, actually.
