She didn't want to do this.
She really didn't want to do this.
But she had been picked, and if they had taken the time to seriously consider her long enough to cast her, she was going to do it.
She still really, really didn't want to.
So much had been going on lately she wasn't sure she could handle the two lines she had been given...and with the excitement of a pending fieldtrip in the future, it seemed like memorizing was going to be out of the question entirely. Yet she still had to try because, again, they had taken the time to choose her from all the better suited candidates.
Thus, she sat in one of the empty practice rooms; the one that had been set aside should the cast members actually try to, you know, act. The little Vetala was sitting near the door at a desk that was much too big for her, holding the script out at arms length and starting at it with all the intensity she could muster.
Commit it to memory, commit it to memory, oh please don't fail me, brain! Please please please ple---Oh right, my lines.
Amrita was pretty sure she was doomed.

G couldn't have been more ecstatic.
His very first play, and he'd been picked for a very important role! And the best part was, he could remember his line! Still, practice was very important, and as a member of Student Council, the swamp beast thought it would be bad if he didn't do well on the night of the play.
It didn't occur to him that he'd have to be on stage again in front of all the other students. He might not have been so eager, if he had.
Quite literally nosing one of the doors open with his broad skull, the swamp beast peered this way and that, and gave a little start when he saw someone tiny sitting there.
"Hullo." He said happily, and didn't think twice to lumber closer to her until he realized what she was holding in her hands.
!!! "You in play too?" The beast sounded thunderstruck, and he promptly flopped right next to her without invitation.
...Hopefully Amrita hadn't wanted to be alone. G's head fin was still bright red, too--and it looked very odd against his green body!

By some crazy miracle, the Undead child didn't notice the door open, or that someone massive walked in. She was very intently staring at the script, those two lines that could make or break her...but probably just break her, at this point. It wasn't until she heard the happy 'Hullo' that she realized she wasn't alone, and his joyful greeting was met with a mild cry of surprise and a snapping sound as her head suddenly lifted to look at him. Her grey eye was wide and staring at the giant that was lumbering towards her.
"H-hi!" She sputtered out real quickly, jumping a little bit when he sat next to her. Whoa, he was...he was the biggest student she had ever seen! Also the greenest student. He was very green. Except for his headfin. That was red. Amrita was very observant.
"Y-yes!" The Beast, as nice as he sounded, was intimidating in size, and that was enough for the little girl to panic just a little. She probably wasn't going to stop her wide-eyed stare any time soon, either. "I'm, uh...T-the Mayor. O-one of them. Uhm...Are you?" She completely missed the 'too' part of his question, and just in case she started to put her script face down on her desk. It was supposed to be a secret!

Oh! She made funny sounds, and the thick tip of his tail twitched with delight as she responded very enthusiastically. He liked friendly people! Of course, he didn't realize that she was... well, probably intimidated. That was okay, he was nice! He liked to cuddle! ...Not that that was a good thing, not here, but that's why he was going to school!
The Mayor! Gargantuan's jaw gaped a little before his tail pounded even harder against the floor. ""Oh! Oh! G is Barrel!" He puffed his chest out importantly, beaming at her. "Gonna be in play with you!" But he hadn't even introduced himself, and that was bad of him. At least he'd remembered!
"Am G." He said after a moment, peering at her script as though he was wondering where his had gone. ....It had tasted delicious, he remembered that much.
...Whoops.

This Monster was starting to remind her of something...something much smaller, and furry. Sadly the name of this mysterious creature was lost on her as the intimidation failed to go away instantly, but hey...at least it was starting to ebb! For his massive size and his expressions, he was shaping up to be a very friendly green (and red finned) giant.
"R-really?! Wow, um, congrats!" Barrel was an important role, because he had to help steal Sandy Claws! "I...I can't wait to work with you?" She didn't think they had any lines together. In fact, she was pretty sure she never came across him in the play...but there was a good chance she was wrong. A very, very good chance.
"...Rita." She managed to get out, the 'am' part being too quiet at first. G was the biggest thing she had ever seen in her entire life. Buildings aside, of course. Clearing her throat, she repeated herself. "Amrita." Though...it sounded suspiciously like his introduction to her...
"...Where's your script?" She asked suddenly, realizing that he wasn't holding one. There was a bit of wonder to her voice; did he not need it? Had he memorized his lines already?! WOW he was huge AND had a great memory!
He was still scary though.

"Yaaaaaay." G couldn't have been more pleased with himself. He'd found another scaretor--scaretress?--all by himself! And she was the Mayor, and... He suddenly gaped once more as he caught sight of her face. She really was the perfect Mayor!
"Does... Does Amriiiitaaaa have two voices?" He wanted to know, his tail thumping hopefully on the floor. Would she show him if he was nice? Maybe! "G friends with Amriiiiitaaaa, 'n play buddies." There was a very satisfied huff from the beast, and he may have wiggled a little with glee.
Of course, then she asked about his script.
His shoulders hunched almost immediately, and suddenly G was very interested in his fingers, wiggling them a little and carefully not meeting Amrita's eye. That didn't bode well.
"...G... maybe ate script." He finally said, cringing some like he expected to get swatted. "...Don't remember."

"T-two voices?" Amrita parroted in confusion. Could ANYONE have two voiceS? Was that even possible? "No, I...I think I just have one!" She assured him, not wanting him to think something of her that wasn't true. Wait, the beast was her friend? When did that happen?! She'd just met him! Wow, this making friends thing was easy! Suddenly, G seemed a lot less scary; so much so that the young looking ghoul smiled lightly with what was left of her lips. "Yeah...friends." She agreed slowly, moving to play with her hair a little bit...and then he slumped and looked mighty dejected.
"...You maybe ate it?" She parroted again, still in that same confused tone she'd first used. Her heart went out to G; she knew what it was like to not remember something. Thus, hesitantly, she reached out and lightly pat his massive arm with one of her comparatively tiny, bruised and reversed hands. "Issokay." She said timidly, trying to sound friendly enough despite her reservations of touching such a huge, intimidating beast. "It...It happens to everyone." Hoping she was reassuring enough, she moved to motion to her paper.
"We could...maybe share?"
