But it was not your fault, but mine.
And it was your heart on the line
I really F**ked it up this time
  Didn't I my dear?

At the moment for me it's 'Little Lion Man' by Mumford and Sons.

they're a folk group, not something I listen to on a regular basis. But lately I've gotten interested in a few not so well known bands, such as Murder by Death (the singer there sounds sort of like Johnny Cash)

but anyway, I heard Little Lion Man on the radio, and the the lyrics kind of hit home for me. And I don't even listen to lyrics much. I suppose it's because I can relate it to my current experiences at university and life and whatnot. But overall, the song is just something that I could listen to a lot. I've been playing it quite a bit as of late.

Warning: 1 swear word in the chorus... that is it.

So for discussion, post your favourite song at the moment and what it is that attracts you to it.

Mike Posner = "Cheated"

I really like this song, I could care less for his other songs because (like you) it's not in my taste of music. It's upbeat and catchy.

I can run to it, that's a good!!

That video is pretty savvy. =D

omg mumford and sons. I like Winter Winds better than Little Lion Man, tbh... <33333333

but for me, the song most played lately is either Ocean Breathes Salty by Modest Mouse, or Details in the Fabric by Jason Mraz and James Morrison...

But then we get into live performances...

Newborn by Muse- at one point, it looks like the crowd gets their rocks off... and There is a Light that Never Goes Out by Morrissey...

yeahhhhh...bry's iphone is always playing -something- or another.

I love Mumford & Sons! White Blank Page might be my favorite song by them right now.

Passion Pit is my favorite group right now. I like all their songs, especially Sleepyhead. It's so upbeat and different. I just want to get up and dance.

I think my favorite right now is Gimme Sympathy, by Metric, which you can watch here. I like the video a lot (plus their lead singer is super hot).

However, the Tron: Legacy soundtrack is basically the best thing ever. I actually seriously considered deleting everything off of my iPod except for it. I've clocked over 35 hours listening to it so far. It's awesome. So, so awesome. The best songs, in my opinion, are this and this.

Also, Bry, Newborn is SO GOOD AHHH. I always seem to forget about it when I listen to Muse and then am so pleased when I finally get around to listening to it.

I totally have the TRON Legacy OST CD in my lappy top right now >8D
I asked for it for christmas and listened to it a LOOOOT.

Metric... I saw them live in concert at my campus once... but I couldn't fully appreciate it because the crowd was... i can't even call it Moshing. it was people shoving people and I got knocked over and they nearly broke my leg. after it got propped up on someone else and somebody fell on it.
Yeah i was too busy trying to stay alive for that concert. Alexisonfire followed them and despite my love for their music, I had to get lifted over the fence after getting crushed against it.I kind of went into shock.
So yeah. Not good experiences with Metric ><;
But i've heard some stuff on their CD's which seems good, but... yeah. bad memories.

Wait, what? Why the heck were people moshing to Metric? Does not make any sense.
PostPosted: Fri Jan 07, 2011 8:14 am

rabid fans will mosh to just about anything. -shrug-

@ demon- you should totally get the HAARP concert/dvd set. ********. I've watched it so many times that muffin would throw stuff at me, when she'd wake up to it... XD!

Feed Me - Grand Theft Ecstasy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyPZFeKorHQ

I love hearing the piano used in different ways by different artists in electronic music. Sometimes it's too traditional and doesn't fit the more upbeat style of most electronic music. Other times, a piano chord is used as a sample and the artists just spams it using different effects and it sounds way too gimmicky. (Not that there is anything wrong with using effects in electronic music) In this song, the piano is the best part because it finds the perfect median between these two extremes. Just a solid song overall.

Pryda - Shadows

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6oLVJhEvEmM

Whether you listen to music or not, you've probably heard Call On Me by Eric Prydz. (CALL ON MEEEEEEEEEE!!! CALL ON ME! CALL ON MEEEEEEEEEE!!!) This is that guy under a new alias, and this electro song is another song that I think a lot of people can enjoy even if they don't regularly listen to electronic music. Using synths and basslines that sound almost retro, this song manages to stand on its own in this day and age. Upbeat and calming at the same time, this is a great song to chill to.

Skrillex - Kill Everybody

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nrmWz3RVQA

No, this isn't a heavy metal song, although the artist is a former frontman of the band From First to Last. We have a light song in Shadows, something in the middle with Grand Theft Ecstasy, and now we have something heavy with Kill Everybody. Dirty, deep bass against a nice fat kick drum, followed by a high-pitch, almost disembodied voice; the perfect backdrop for the buildup to what can only be described as an incredible chorus, consisting of some of the sickest wobble this side of dubstep, which works incredibly well in this electro tune, and euphoric lead-synths that beg to be played on a dance floor. If the beat of this song does not enslave you and make you want to dance, then you either aren't human, or you hate good music.

As always, set the YouTube videos to the highest possible video quality, as the audio quality is greatly improved as well. Enjoy!
