I feel so guilty when I eat. Eating got me here in the first place.

I learned yesterday that hunger pangs work differently for different people. Brandon said his go away after a minute. Mine just get worse and worse and persist until I get nauseous and get a headache.

I wish my body did that. I could ignore it and not be a fat ********>

Usually that feeling happens when your blood sugar is low, its a sign that your body is switching over from using things you've eaten to digesting fats ect that your body has in storage.

Rather then eating a meal, try just eating something small. Fruit would be perfect it has lots of sugar so it will help alleviate that feeling and its good for you!

That works for about an hour. Then I get hungry again.

I dunno if you buy into all that diet stuff but Sensa is supposed to make you feel full and reduce craving. You sprinkle it on your food and it comes in little shakers. Worth a try.

My method is just to buy only healthy food so when I get hungry I have to eat blueberries or something.

Try having more fiber in your diet.
It takes a while to get digested making you feel fuller, longer.

Wow I wish I had hunger pangs that go away. Mine persist for ages, pretty much until I give in. Though I go through weird periods of low to no appetite, and then periods of extremely high appetite.

I find I get hungry when I'm bored though, I'm pretty sure my body isn't actually hungry. Like watching TV or films, I get hungry if my hands aren't occupied. So I play my DS or fiddle with my phone or read a book to occupy my hands and stop the cravings.

Hunger pangs means your body's telling you to eat!

Don't starve yourself if you have hunger pangs. Eat when you have them, don't when you don't. Give in to physical hunger and you'll better discern when you're hungry vs. when you're bored. ******** meals; just nibble on good, filling foods all day whenever you feel hungry.

I started eating decent small meals (garden sandwich, soup and toast, etc...) when feeling hunger pangs, and keeping around good things to snack on otherwise. I am HORRIBLE with portion control and will eat 100% of what's in front of me, so if it's out of sight it's out of mind. If I keep anything but peas and oatmeal packets in my dorm I become a guilt monster.

Fruit is a good start, veggies are good too, but if you are starving and getting hungry right away, you need something to stick with you for a bit. Try some nuts (yes higher in fat, but a few is o.k.), the protein kick may keep things around for a bit, then a few crackers (like 2-3 crackers) for the carb need and you should be balanced out and stay satisfied a bit longer.
