She'd had a rough time when it had come time to foaling. Now her mind swam with the sleep her body called for. She hadn't even had time to send some one to fetch Sena so that he could be there for the arrival of their foals. Nuzzling her little ones close to her safely tucked inside their baskets. Once satisfied that they were nestled close enough to stay warm, she rested her head close to hem, closing her eyes. The shelter her father and she had found not too long ago to keep out of the rain seemed like a nice enough place to foal. Out side was just too plum cold to bring little ones into the world.
Albert made his way towards the cave, sure that he had seen Mera come this way. He had his mate at his side. She had been running around a lot, and hadn't really gotten to see her beautiful children. Mera was the one he knew the best, and the easiest one to introduce her too. Especially since she had just had three baskets, and they were her first. He was sure that she could use some advice. Meru for once was subdued by his side.
Her ears flicked here and there to the sounds that came from the baskets at her side. Still she dozed off lightly, still listening for any real changes at the entrance of the cave. She hadn't heard any hoof falls yet so she was happily napping away, building her strength back up for when her little ones would need her the most.
He stopped just outside the cave, turning to face Meru. "It's alright. She will love you."
"But she is all grown up, and I haven't been there. What she has to think." She scraped a hoof nervously across the ground.
Albert leaned over an nipped at the bow in her hair, tugging it gently. "She will love you. She's been wanting to meet you. And I have been taking care of her. She is just like you, all energy and love."
She opened one eye as her ears picked up the sound of hoof falls and the faint familiar voice of her father. He had another voice with him, one she wasn't familiar with, a females. She had to wonder just who he'd brought with him this time around. Lifting her head she offered a greeting nicker. She figured he was being polite as to not wish to just barge in on a new mother.
His ear flicked sideways as he heard Mera offer a greeting, and tugged on Meru's bow once more. "Come on, she's waiting. Of if you want, wait here, and come in when you're ready." he nuzzled Meru again, and headed into the cave, whickering his own greeting. "Hello Mera. How are you?" He came in to nuzzle her.
Meru watched Albert walk into the cavern after hearing her daughter, for the first time in her life. She stood outside, shifting nervously on her feet, unsure what to do.
She offered a pleasant smile. "I'm well, tired but I'm good." She gave another grin and nuzzled the baskets about some. "Come to see you're grand kids?" She looked back at her father and then towards the cave's entrance. "Bring some one with you?"
He smiled. "I am glad to hear that. I see you gave me three grand-children." He looked towards the cave entrance. "Oh, she will be in when she is ready. She's nervous. Which is actually unusual for her." he reached forward, and nibbled on the scarf in her hair.
She nodded some and even gave a light chuckle as he nibbled at her scarf. "I think I'm going to name this one Tian." She nudged the more olivie green spotted basket lightly with her nose. "Though I'm not sure what the other two are going to be named just yet..." She leaned her head up and tugged at his cloak some. "I didn't have time to send some one after Sena.. So he hasn't had the chance to see them yet." It seemed a bit odd for such friends to be raising foals together but she really didn't feel that sort of spark she was sure her father carried for her mother.

"I'm sure you will think of something to name them. And they will be wonderful." He reached down to nuzzle the basket. "Hello Tian. I am your grandfather." And then he nuzzled the others lovingly. With a snicker, he looked over his shoulder out the cave entrance. "You know, there are three of them. And one is named Tian."
Meru stamped her foot. That did it. "oh for the love of...." She headed into the cave.
She looked around her father's legs to see who he'd brought with him. Her ears perked though she nuzzled the baskets closer yet still her father may have trusted this mare but she'd truly never seen her a day in her life. She had to wonder just... who was she? Looking up at her father she offered him that questioning glance.
Albert caught her glance, and grinned reassuringly. "It's alright. Don't worry." he looked down at Mera, and then turned to face the mare that was entering the cavern. "Merashik, meet Meru. She's your mother." He stepped aside, so that Mera could see the older mare better. Meru slowed down as Albert moved, and looked at the mare on the ground, and the baskets before her. "Hello.
Giving a tentative smile, she nodded."Hello, Mother" The word was strange to her. Mother... how strange that now that she was one she was getting to meet her own. She didn't begrudge the older mare anything, she was after all very family oriented and had been more or less bugging her father for this day since she'd been a foal. "Meet your grand kids..." She nudged out the baskets so her mother could get a better look at them.
Meru stepped forward, lowering her head to get a closer look at them. "Two of them have spots," she remarked with a grin towards her daughter. Three beautiful baskets, and a beautiful mare before her. Though, it didn't seem that she hated her for not being around. "They are very beautiful, just like their mother. And I'm sure, they're going to grow up to be as big and beautiful as she is too." She nuzzled the closest one, with a blue rim to it. "It seemed only yesterday that this was you. You and your sister were here." And I was watching over you......
She grinned wide. "They have their father's spots." She mused some. They definitely seemed to favor him in that way. Their colors too were a reminder of him. "I guess some day I'll be boggling over my own grand kids.. Seems little ones grow so fast." She chuckled lightly then looked at her father. "But then.. you'll be an even older man by that time." She flashed him her usual mischievous grin and laughed before reaching out with her nose and lipping at her mother's forelock as she nuzzled the blue rimmed basket.

((soobydoo time warp time!!!))
Tian Ran around pretending she was one of the dragons from the storied her grandfather had told her. "Rawr!"
Mera looked at her father and sighed. "Seriously father no more dragon tales for her.."
"But why not? They are so fun to tell"
She gave another sigh. "Because...."
"Prot dragon RAWR!!!" She attacks her grandfather's cloak and mock tears at it with her hooves.
He rears up and lunges, leaping over his granddaughter, his cloak fluttering around him, much like wings, and he turned and let his cloak flow around him. " You dare attack an older dragon , dragonling? You overstep your bounds." He paws the air, clawing at the air with his hooves.
Giggling madly she chases ater him.
Sighs and shook her head "Mother... some times I wonder about him heheh but at least he's running off her energy I can't complain I use to love those games myself.. still do really.." She smiled laughing.
Meru giggled "Yes, at least he is. I would join in, but...." She stamped a back hoof that was rather sore. "I am rather feeling not quite so energetic." Albert ran off, running so that his cloak fluttered around him.
Mera perked her ears at her mother, walking over to her. "You alright? Not getting sick on us are you?"
Giggling even more madly, she set off giving chase making wooshing noises as she ran. "Wahooo!!! Prot dragon sets elder on run!"
"Elder is trying to save youngling from a beating. But if you wish me to turn and fight, I can." He stopped pacing, and stood firm-footed on the ground.
Meru smiled at Merashik "No Mera. I'm afraid it's worse then that. And more permanent."
Tilting her head she thought a moment then blinked. "Does father know?" It hadn't taken long this time for that to click. She'd just gone through all of herself not too long ago after all. "Or are you waiting to tell him?"
Putting her head down, she charged her grandfather growling as fiercly as she could. "I'm not afraid of you!"
Meru smiled. "Oh, I think he knows. He knew the last time. And he was excited. I would definitely say he's showing the signs now." She smiled as she looked over at Albert.
"You should be youngling!" Dodges out of the way, and smacks her side with one large hoof.
Smiling she followed her mother's gaze. "So, new siblings hmm? Well.. they'll be welcome indeed and dad's sure to do a good job with them, he already did a good job on me." Chuckles as she watched her daughter and father at play.
She giggles running past him till he taps her then gives a mock squeal and turns running from him. "Oh noes!!!! He's out done me!!!"
"I know he had fun doing it. He has always been good with kids. And to have one of his own was just the world to him. It still is. He keeps poking at me hoping that I will give him a son this time." She smiled wider "I told him I'd try."
Stamps his hooves in a menacing way. "No one can best Feyrbrand the Dragon!"
"Well... That's about all you can do.. try hahaha" She grinned wide and nuzzled her mother. "I don't know how I pulled it off.. But I managed to have a son, He's so full of energy and fun."
Tian gave another mock scream as she ran around her grandfather. "Some one save me!! Feybrand's going to eats me up!"
"I would so love to meet him one day, and your other foals. I would love to see them grow. And to see what you do with your new brothers and sisters." She giggled.
Starts chasing after Tian. "Yes! You have come at me little dragon one too many times! Now I will enact my revenge!" Gives his version of an evil laugh.
Mera nodded grinning. " I'll introduce you all some day hopefully by then we'll all be able to sit down and relax as a family."
Squealing once more she charges right towards her mother and grandmother screaming. "Save me!!! He's really going to eat me!!!! Waaa!!!!!!!" She dives under her mother's belly only to duck under her grandmother, hiding.

Meru looks down at the foal under her belly, and smiles. "Don't think that's going to save you Tian. He has ways of getting around me, and I am too slow right now to protect you." She moved her feet slowly, like she was walking through mud to emphasize her point.
Albert grinned. "Of course I am going to eat you. Little dragons should know to leave their elders alone, and we elder dragons teach by example." he stood by Mera's side, temporarily blocked from his prey. "And we never give up." he took a large breath and blew it through his nose.
Mera laughed lightly. "I guess this is my que to save her?" She couldn't contain her laugher for a moment but son it faded and she lightly head butted her father. "And elder dragons shouldn't be so quick to grump out and munch on little dragonlings when there are knights to stalk."
Tian peeked out frop between her grandmother's front legs at her mother and grandfather. "Grandma.. she's gonna get eated too...."
Albert arched an eyeridge at her. "And does said knight actually think it has a chance against and elder dragon? Said night is such a puny thing; so small and frail. It would hardly be a bite to the dragon." Albert pulled off a haughty tone, with shoulders squared and head high.
Meru sighed in mock exaggeration, and looked down and her protected. "That is the problem with being a knight. Most of them go to feed the dragons." She said this with a sorrowful expression on her face.
Mera grinned mockingly. "Ah but at least I have a better chance at putting up a fight!!" She paws lightly at her father in mock aggression, ears pinned back.
Tian looked up at her grandmother and frowned. "They do??" Her eyes were wide and innocent as she looked at Meru before turning her attention beck to her mother. With a squeak and a giggle, she charged out and stood beside her grandfather. "Foul knight might have a chance against one dragon but Prot is here to slay you!!!"
Albert flattens his ears sideways in mock anger. "You dare to oppose me? Me?! I will show you the error of your ways little Knight, and I will make you eat the scarf you have flowing from your mane." He shoved her with his shoulder, striking out before her legs and what looked like a vicious attack, though he was well away from her.
Meru tapped her hoof on the ground. "Aren't you forgetting about me little one? He may be the great Feyrbrand, but I am Regole, and I will help protect my elder dragon kin"
