Athena looked around for any sign of a female. He wasn't in a mood to be picky today, any female feline would do. He was in the mood for some company. He had it in his mind to start collecting some females of all sorts to follow him around and figured today was as good a day as any to start.
He knew he was a handsome lion, and he also knew that it wasn't just females his charms could work on. If Athena had his way, he would end up with a very nice following of males of like mind to share all those females with. He supposed the females were the first step if he wanted to attract other males to join him.
It was a bright day and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. He crawled up onto a rock ledge and began sunning himself while watching for any passing females. Was that one over there? Hard to tell at the distance, but best keep an eye out regardless. If it was, well, he'd have to turn on the charm and make sure she saw him.

Noelani was lonely. Not for company in the normal sense of the word. She didn't really want conversation, she just wanted someone to help her forget about things for a while. The life of a rogue was not always full of fun times and bubbly days. Sometimes it was just...boring. This was certainly one of the boring days.
Her hips swayed rhythmical as she walked, an internal beat keeping her stance fluid and graceful. She wasn't really scanning the area for company, content to find someone who would come to her. After all, she didn't want to have to do all the work. She'd done that before, usually she got bored rather quickly.
She liked to be chased, and fawned over, even if she knew as soon as she met most males whether she would stay a night or two with them, or whether she wouldn't even bother.

Definitely female, score one for the hot lion on the rock. Of course he had not quite scored yet, but he certainly was off to a good start finding a female coming across his path. He waited until she came by his rock and dropped a paw down to brush along her back as she passed. "My apologies, beautiful. I did not see you down there." He hopped down off the rock ledge to get a better look at her. "I must be going blind to have missed such beauty even for a second."
Athena scanned her with appreciative violet eyes. Even if he only got a night with her, he was pretty sure that would be well worth his time. He sat down, knowing this made him look more cuddly and less threatening. He had been told before it made him nearly irresistible. He hoped he could count on it to work this time. He shakes out his mane to make it fluffier and purrs as he regards the female further.
He would wait for her reaction to him and if she seemed interested, he would make a further move. He was not stupid after all. Never try to approach a female until you were pretty sure she wouldn't claw you for it. Athena couldn't help but keep scanning her as he waited either. Beauty was best drank in with the eyes as long as possible.

Noelani jerked up in surprise as she felt someone's paw brush her back as she moved beneath a rock and moved out from it's reach, but did not rush away. Instead, she raised a gaze to him, as he leapt from the ledge. She was not always one for lions, preferring her own species, but mmm, he was a handsome boy, she mused. Bigger then she was, considering the species difference, but still just as fascinating to look at.
"Seems we are both at fault, for I didn't notice you either, handsome," she purred back, eyes flicking up to meet his. Noelani was not a particularly 'subtle' female, when it came to males, and that had been known to frighten off some males, but anyone who ran scared at her approaches wasn't worth her time anyway.
This male didn't look like the type to run though, and although he was large, he appeared quite...cuddly and friendly. An odd trait in a lion, she thought, but a welcome one.

Athena tried to fluff up more and reached his neck out to try touch noses with the female. "Ah, you like what you see then? This is a pleasant development." He stepped closer to her and brushed against her as he walks around to sit beside her. "I did not mean to startle you... I could not resist the chance to touch you."
His violet eyes drank in the beauty as he spoke. She did not seem like she was going to run away from the idea of some quality time with him. "I have this nice rock ledge to lounge on, or under if you prefer. I would love to share with you." He stretched and sat straight again. "I am Athena... might I know your name, beautiful?"

Noelani did not move her face away when he reached out to touch her nose with his own, but she did not move closer either. He had to do some of the work, she thought, faintly amused and tilting her head to the side. "You are very appealing to look at," she told him smoothly, smiling. "You didn't startle me, just...I didn't expect to find such lovely company today. I had feared I would be alone for most of my time."
She hummed as she considered his offer, before leaping smoothly onto the rock beside him, seemingly unafraid of the size difference and his obvious bulk compared to her stream-lined body. "Thank you," she simpered and smiled at him. "Athena? Ah, my name is Noelani, but I think I prefer beautiful," she said, with a playful wink.

Athena nuzzled Noelani and purred in her ear. "I am glad I please the lady with my appearance and that I did not startle you." He gets fluffier yet, which is quite a feat. "I am lovely company? That is a treat to hear, and I will be glad to prove that correct much more extensively, if you would like, beautiful Noelani." Today was a very good day that was for sure.
As he sat beside her, Athena curled his tail around Noelani and purred loudly. He hoped that she would stick around. She was beautiful, playful, and didn't mind a bit of flirting. "Could I interest the beautiful lady in staying a while? This rock is big enough for two, beautiful."

Noelani laughed, happy with the attention the male was giving her. She had always enjoyed people making a fuss over her. She loved being showered in attention. He was rather bold too, which she liked. Sure, she enjoyed playing games and flirting just as much as the next girl, but that got boring rather quickly and his straight-forward attitude was a pleasant surprise. "That sounds rather lovely to me," Noelani purred approvingly, smiling at him with a playful look.
She curled his tail around him as well, but hers would not fit around him as well as his did around her. "I think I could be persuaded," she mused as if she actually had to think about it. "The rock looks very comfy," she said, even though it looked just the opposite. She always preferred grass to rocks, but rocks were good to keep her warm sometimes, so she didn't really mind.

Athena chuckled at the cheetahess' thoughtfulness and pounced Noelani without warning. He held her down gently and licked her cheek. "The rock is nice for sunning, but this soft grass is much more suited to play if you would rather, beautiful." Things seemed to be going very very well with this cheetah, so he thought perhaps he could get away with taking a few liberties and being a bit more playful. Athena was after all a big fluff ball of fun.
"Such enchanting eyes." He pauses in licking her cheek for a moment and gazes at the pink eyes before him. "I do not think I have ever seen their like before." Athena licked her nose before letting her back up. He curled his tail around his paws looking slightly smug. "Does staying still sound lovely, beautiful?" He puffed his mane and other fur out again to make himself look cuddly and harmless. Well, more cuddly than harmless. He was a lion after all.

Noelani tensed when the male pounced, readying her legs to kick him off if need be – or try to, as he was significantly larger than she was - and flee if he turned aggressive, but he simply licked her cheek. She relaxed, though wariness did not leave her eyes. “Play?” She teased. “What are we, cubs?”
A flattered look crossed her face at his compliment of her eyes and she batted her lashes at him, in both flirtations and as a joke. “Thank you,” she purred, and got to her feet, pleased that he had let her up although she had the feeling that he had not intended to hurt her at all. She pretended to think about his question, before stretching leisurely, putting all of her grace into that one gesture. “I'm sure I could be persuaded into staying,” she murmured, before smirking a little as she turned her head away from him. “But I would need something better than a rock,” she pointed out, hinting at a den.
Whilst Noelani was flirtatious and subtle, she was not a push-over. At least, not to males who did not exude the 'my way, or the highway' air – and Athena didn't seem to have that aura. He seemed pretty harmless, and Noelani wouldn't turn down a companion for a while.

"Ah, we are not cubs... but cubs are not so bad, you know." Athena winked and purred at the cheetah again. He was seeing a very positive reaction from her and it made him happy. Athena could not help but watch her move and admire her grace and beauty. Females were such exquisite creatures no matter what type of feline they were.
He stretched and walked past her at the mention of a better place. "Well, I think I know of a very nice place if it pleases the lady to follow me." He kept purring as he lead her toward the den he had passed not too long ago. He knew it was unoccupied, so it would be perfect for them to share a bit of private company.
