Think back to all the games you've played and think, who was the most unluckiest character you've seen or played.
I played alot of games and I think Drake from Uncharted 1 & 2, has to be the most unluckiest person ever. He had to face helicopters with things lying around, walkways crumbling under him, and a thousand dudes coming after him. Hate to be his shoes half the time.

Honestly
Kratos. He may be a bit of a villain himself, but he still gets ******** over by every single person he ever considered and ally besides Pandora.

QFT. I mean come on! How many times does Kratos die and struggle his way out of the Underworld in the series?
Possible spoilers to several games ahead. Read at your own risk.
Another character that is quite unlucky would be Big Daddy Delta from BioShock 2. He goes through all that insanity in Rapture to save the little sister that he was programmed to protect at all costs and manages to stop an insane b***h from continuing her bullshit and ends up dying no matter the choices it made during the course of the game.
Bowser from the Super Mario franchise could be considered another unlucky character. He's the king of all koopas complete with a badass spiky shell and a massive army of turtles that range from grunts to magic slingers. He kidnaps the princess of the mushroom kingdom and guess who ends up saving her every single time? That's right. A ******** plumber. You didn't hear wrong. A PLUMBER managed to traverse countless traps, pulverized his massive army, beat the living s**t out of his lieutenants/sons and daughters/ whoever the hell the bosses were, and kicked his a** time and time again.
Yet another character that is unlucky would be the main protagonist from Persona 3. He spends the entire game fighting these things called shadows and the occasional boss version every full moon and eventually finds out that each of those boss version shadows helped bring him towards becoming Nyx, his true form and also god that will destroy the world once reawakened, with their deaths while the main protagonist believed that he was saving the world by destroying these very same boss version shadows. Guy tries to save the world by destroying evil turns out to be the strongest and origin of the very evil he sought to root out. Sounds pretty unlucky to me.

Jill Valentine. She spent all of Resident Evil 3 running away from one of the scariest monsters in gaming. In RE3 she also had to jump out of a runaway train and jump out of a burning building. Not to mention how many holes she fell down that were filled with monsters. During the middle of the game when she has a slow motion run towards the rescue helicopter(happy piano music playing), right after she says "it's finally over" Nemesis pulls out a bazooka and blows up her rescue. In RE5 she falls out a window and ends up being a puppet for her enemy and being forced to beat up her boyfriend.
