Lana'thel looked to Icecrown and rolled her eyes. "Why do you insist on sitting there?" The little familar that had suddenly attached herself to her had a habit to look through the arch of trees that lead to the only exit to their land..... was waiting for something perhaps? It worried Lana'thel not, she feared no creature.... her army would rise up to fight for her in a heart beat, plus she was fully capable of standing up for herself.
With a lazy yawn she lowered herself to the ground, nothing of interest had happened lately..... she was growing bored. Oh, she would give anything for an bit of excitment.Icecrown looked up at her 'master' and turned lazily, an action that was very much like Lana'thel's own. "To be prepared," she answered dryly.

Demon grunted and kicked the dirt, why did he have to be the only boy.....? His sister had things so much easier than he did, they would try to boss him about, use their numbers against him..... and the worst thing was that his mother would shout at HIM! Yeah.... life wasn't fair. He was a Kalona, a lone runner.... it wasn't as if his own father had stuck around, let alone upheld the code his mother tried to ram down his throat at every opportunity. He sighed. For some reason he was suppose to 'love', he cringed at the thought, his siblings, and although his mother couldn't care if he killed or attacked someone else she didn't want him killing someone of their kind unless they proved themselves to be weak. He would give his mother that, she certainly would not suffer for weakness. His eyes looked to the trees, he didn't recognise where he was.....

Lana'thel turned to look at her familar and rolled her eyes. She usually wouldn't suffer fools, but for some reason she would put up with her familar.... surely she was not growing soft? She shivered at the thought.
With a c**k of her eye she said; "Ha, ha.... so are you planning on attacking them should something appear?" After all, she was only a tiny squirral... it wasn't as if she would be able to do much to aid them should they be attacked.
She pulled herself up, she was tired of being alone in this fortress of trees. "Come," she commanded. Lana'thel was one very use to having her commands heard and followed.... and sure enough Icecrown Citadel did exactly what she had been instructed to do, the small creature climbed up Lana'thels tail and sat on her back, holding on to the fabric that hung there.
In her lazy way, eyes perminatly half closed, "I can bite you know," still she knew she would have to rely on Lana'thel, it was part of the reason why she was here..... Icecrown put her own survival first, and right now was most likely going to be achieved with this dangerous looking mare.

Demon knew that when you were lost were supposed to do one of two things. Stop and hope someone would find you, or retrace your steps. Neither was an option for him, being of Kalona blood he had always been given a lot of freedom so no on would come looking for him..... although he still officially lived at home with his mother and siblings no one expected any of them to do so for much longer. Kalonas survived better on their own, tending to attack those closest to them in frustration or rage -which happened often for his kind.
Still, Demon was trying to find his way and place in the world. The instinct to kill was there but part of him had not given himself over to his instincts making his attacks sloppy at times, but after all the converstations with his mother -be they forced upon him or not- she had sung the praises of their kind which had slowly made Demon believe he was the baddest thing out there. If his mothers words could be believed nothing could stand against their kind, and the genes she had given him should garentee that. He had never met his father..... and cared little about whether or not he would one day.
The other option about retracing his hoof prints may have worked.... if Demon had actually been paying attention at the time.
In frustration he stamped his hoof to the ground hard. "Curses." He said as he started to look around.... what should he do now? He could be lost for weeks if he went off in a random direction, so he turned fully in a circle so he was facing the way he had roughly come from..... maybe he would eventually recognise something if he just went back that way?

Lana'thel walked through the grounds of her 'castle' liked she owned the place, which for all intends and purposes she did. This was her empire, covered mostly so that the hateful sun couldn't reach her.... she was forever cursed as a night walker.
With a lazy roll of her eyes she turned to her familar; "Oh and I am so scared of your little bite when compared to a skinwalkers paws." She shook her head, "Perhaps I will discover a use for you one day."
Lana'thel had found her familar by accident, or rather more by the creatures own design than hers. Usually she would have dismissed the creature, but there was something cold and appealing about Icecrowns nature that had intreguied her and remindered her so much of herself. Already their colourings had been similar, and with the addition of a spare collar the squirral could not be denied her claims of being in Lana'thels surface. If they had been of the same species she would have gone so far to claim that they could look like siblings of a sort. There was one thing the small creature had become adept for..... hiding things.
After a little while.... Lana'thel soon discovered that her desire to have company had come true. In the path before her was a charming looking beast, just a boy if her measurements were correct. She smiled, it was nice to see someone who was not 'light and fluffy' looking, striving to do good and wise things in the name of honour and virtue. Lana'thel had a code of honour.... only the strong survive.
"Icecrown...." She said with a lazy look to her rump and the squirral. "Go and hide in that tree there." she indicated the one she wanted with her nose and a turn of her head. "Wait for my signal or for him to get agressive before giving him a.... surprise." She said with a sly look peeled upon her face. Lana'thel had learnt a long time ago... treat ever situation as a battle field, and never go into battle unprepared or without an ace. Icecrown was her ace this time.
Icecrown had been nattering on to herself for a while as they spoke, mumbling about how unfair it was that she was always ignored or considered worthless.... sure she hadn't really found a use within Lana'thels world but she would, Icecrown believed that with all of icey cold heart. Still, it would be nice to have a purpose.
Finally Lana'thel spoke back to her, and Icecrown was positive the mare had not acknowlegded anything Icecrown had been saying, it made her wonder if her master was simply so use to ignoring 'background noise' due to her command.... or if she was deaf? After all she only seems to acknowlege anyone if they looked her in the eyes. Interesting.
Still, she had a job assigned to her -at last- and the smile and squeak of joy broke through her usually cold visage. "Of course..." was all she said before jumping from her master and to the tree indicated.
She climbed and prepared herself, a position were she could see both the demonic looking colt and her master. Just incase.

Demon had been about to wander off when he heard a noise behind him.... hooves if he wasn't mistaken, perhaps a voice but the words escaped him due to the distance. He turned, with a strong movement and his head held high, he may be lost but that didn't make him any less of the 'evil and invincible kalona' his mother would rant about.
Yet when his eyes finally found the source of the noise his eyes went wide. It was a.... monster? Wings larger than her body and more like that of a dragon or a bat than a Kalona, and although Demon knew that Dragons were in his own blood line he couldn't help but be awed.... at least until he caught himself and just growled. He was a kalona! Not a mouse! He could take anything the world had to throw at him.
A growl started to form and rumble in his throat and he spat out three words. "Leave me alone." It was what he wanted... for two reasons. One, he didn't want anyone to witness him being lost. Two, he knew if she stayed he would fight her and part of him didn't want to hurt such a magnificent looking creature -not that he would ever reveal that, it would be a sign of weakness if he did.
And Demon was NOT weak!
He reminded himself once more.... I am a Kalona, the strongest of all the breeds. A monster made flesh, with a taste for blood and meat. It is this creature who should quake in fear.

Lana'thel approached, completely unphased by the colts warning. It wasn't as if she had never come someone who had threatened her before -the only issue was she tended to leave them dead for daring too. Yet this colt hadn't threatened... just requested? Yes, she would assume he had requested... a request she would deny of course.
"Oh come now...." She all but purred, "Is that any way to talk to your elder?" She tutted and shook her head, "Now let us start this again.... you bow down to me, and I shall let you live." She raised and eyebrow and waited for him to decide.
Icecrown continued to wait.

Demon snarled at the mares attitude... after all she was just a mare right? Even with those strange wings and those glowing accessories she was still just a mare. He growled again, this time allowing the rumble to be heard.
"You are nothing to me!" he hissed, he wouldn't bow to his mother let alone a stranger who he would probably never see again. With a shake of his head he added, "So find someone else to bow!"
The urge to lunge at her was growing. Maybe a good fight would get him over his frustration at being so lost.

Lana'thel laughed. It was heart sound that actually surprised her.... but before her was someone who was not afraid of her, or not yet at least. It was a nice refreshing change. Most of her minions would simply obey and cower in her presence... not that she was complaining but it was refreshing to meet someone with a spine.
She wondered how straight that spine really was.... deciding to 'test' his will power she took another step forward, bringing her leg up so the she could turn his face as if to get a better look at him. "Hmmmmm......" She said as if contemplating something of great importance. "For a moment I do believe I thought you had dared to give me lip..... I hope I was mistaken." She said with a raised eyebrow as she looked down on him.
Lana'thel had always found it easier to intimidate someone when she appeared bigger, sometimes that was achieved by an illusion, her wings spread wide usually did the trick, but this case her prey really was smaller than her.... though she suspected he would one day grow up to be big and strong..... right now he was a weakling.... a foolishly brave weakling.
"I ask you again boy... bow to me." Lana'thel did not make a habit of asking more than once.

Demon's anger was bubbling, he was no longer doubting anything about himself simply accepted that he was the baddest thing in this world and that the mare before him deserved to learn a lesson for her arrogant attitude. At no point did it occur to him that she may actually be in the right, that she may have actually earned her arrogance in the only way of worth.... blood and sweat.
"I bow to no one...." he said a moment before he flung himself forward with an obviously unpractised attack. All demon knew was he had teeth, and horns and cloven hooves that could all do damage.... so he lowered his head and hoped that one of his horns would drive home.
Attack roll 1- Attack misses and he ends up flat on his face. 2- Attack strikes but weakly, the horn doing very little to Lana'thels leg. 3- Attack strikes with medium damage, tearing into the leg and leaving a trail of blood.

Lana'thel was caught off guard as the colt jumped to attack, it was clear he had no combat training..... a shame since she could teach him oh so much if only he would submit -though part of her was intreguied by the fact it did not want him to submit, as if him submitting would lead to her bordem and him being weak. She couldn't explain why she felt that way.... but she didn't want anyone to make him appear weak, even if he lost while giving it all he would not be seen as weak in her eyes.
Of course that was no excuse for the pain that now shot through her leg, she looked down to see a horn piecing her leg and a trail of blood leaking steadily from it despite his horn still acting a bandage.
Still... with a sudden yank of her leg she withdrew his horn swiftly and before she allowed the stab of pain to stall her she kicked out with all her might knocking the colt off her.
Attack roll 1- Demon falls over with the force of her kick. 2- Demon sways but manages to stay on his feet.
Icecrown takes the opportunity to jump from her hiding place to land ontop of the colt. She snaps her teeth and holds her clawed paw by his eye... just incase.

Demon was flat on his back, pain flooding his body especiallly in the side that had hit the ground that felt as hard as a rock. He went limp for a moment, forgetting what had happened as he tried to piece everything together..... he had been stuck? By a mare.... and now he was looking up from his back like all the pathetic creature that he had taunted growing up.
He snarled in displeasure and had been about to get up when he felt that small paws pattered their way over him until he was face to face with..... a squirral?
Now that just took the buscuit, he spat at the creature before thrashing despite the paw that was possition over his eye. He would rather lose it than be demean in such a fashion. "GET OFF ME!" He roared in anger.

Lana'thel found herself laughing once again, this young colt really was full of surprises. She called out to Icecrown, "Leave." She watched as instantly the small squirral froze.
Icecrown heard her masters orders, she paused, hesitated for a moment and then allowed the colt to thrash her off. She landed roughly on her four paws and bowed to Lana'thel. "Yes M'lady." She said.
As soon as Icecrown released the colt Lana'thel walked closer to him. Before he was able to get up she placed her injured leg above him and then pressed down, keeping in him position. "You will hurt yourself if you continued to thrash like this." She commented, her tone half amused. "Now.... listen to me... before I decide I dislike you!" The fact that he was fighting still made her smile.... she was positive she was right.... he would one day grow to be a fine young Kalona.
She stared down at him, moving her head closer so he could see the smile on her face. This was better than being bored any day.

Demon was relieved about the small creature getting off him.... but his heart was thundering so fast in his chest that he wasn't able to hear anything. His mother had been wrong.... he was most definatly not the badest thing in the world....
This was confirmed when his attempt to get up was removed once again by the addition of a weight on his chest. He stilled for a moment before trying desperatly once more to get free. In that moment Demon really didn't care if he was lost, he would run in any direction he had to.... he would find his way home eventually, and if he didn't it wouldn't be the end of the world because at least he would still be alive. He wondered if his prey felt this helpless when he played with them..... he knew what his mother had told him to do in a similar situation.... destroy those who are not worthy! Was he worthy? He didn't know any more. All he knew was that he had a desire to live.
Slowly the words of the beast that had put him into this position so easily reached him.... she didn't dislike him? Not yet at least. He was torn on what to do..... if he stopped moving then he would be accepting defeat, and part of Demon's mind simply wouldn't allow that..... but something else told him that if he didn't he would die this day.
Eventually he stilled, not completely... his legs continued to twitch and move. He hadn't given up all hope that he could escape.
In that moment he remembered one of his mothers lessons.... manipulation.... trickery..... could he use eiither now?
