AMITYVILLE ACADEMY ENROLLMENT FORM

Name: Lophopa
Nicknames: Kevin
Gender: Female
Age: 13

Faction/Race Monsters

Personality: See next post!

Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Kevin is enrolled in Amityville in order to...well, learn and socialize. She has no motivation for scaring humans, but her natural nature makes her seek others her age. She class-wise, she wouldn't complain about double-shifts of gym.

FEAR: In battle and after school, Kevin reverts to her natural form; A big, rather goofy looking bird (see reference). However, this bird is actually just as dangerous as any other monster's full form, as her beak and talons are sharp and her cry is painful to the ears. Her FEAR enables her to emit an incredibly loud scream, temporarily deafening her opponents and causing them ear pain. Unfortunately, her FEAR also damages nearby allies, and it will take away her voice for a day or two until it can recuperate.

Physical Description: Tall, crazily so. She is easily a good five to six inches taller than average for her age, but her funny long legs and neck make her a less-than-intimidating figure. Like her legs and neck, her torso and arms are thin and long as well.
Eye Colour: Turquoise
Hair Colour/Style: Short, crazy, and multicolored. The tips of her hair are a deep, navy blue, but other than that her hair is an insane red, purple, turquoise and gold, all stuck together at random.
Skin Colour: Caucasian / average tone.
Clothing Style/Colours: Colorful, extremely so. She likes all kinds of colors, so long as they're not naturals like brown, black, grey and white. Her clothing is fairly average other than color; she typically wears bright, multicolored t-shirts and skirts.
Extra: Small, useless wings, only about two feet from wing-tip to wing-tip, and that might be an overestimation.
References: Snipe!

Personality - Get to know Kevin!

You know, the biases against Monsters aren't entirely incorrect. Some monsters are, in fact, really, really stupid. Lophopa, or Kevin as she prefers to be called, falls into that category. She learns well, don't get me wrong - she can do physical tasks that she has been taught to do like clockwork. Abstract concepts, though? Not so much. Things like magic will always elude her, partially due to the magical failure of monsters and because of her own personality.

Her lack of intelligence carries over into social situations as well. Kevin is a naturally friendly beast, but language...well, it just eludes her sometimes. Often if she becomes excited or stressed or even just during regular conversations, she will resort to squawking and other avian noises to express herself. Overtime, those that are close to her can learn to interpret her, but others will just be weirded out. Mercifully, she can speak regularly as well, but her vocabulary is limited to basic words and she can't explain what few complicated concepts she understands.

Kevin is quite kind to other students, if irritating at times. She will constantly want to know what you're doing, and if you have anything shiny or glowy you'd better believe that she'll watch it with this creepy, unblinking stare until you either put it away or tell her to GTFO, at which point she'll get sulky. Also, she eats more-or-less anything that looks moderately edible, so hide your foodstuffs unless you want them to be covered in bird-girl drool.

But if there's one good thing about having Kevin as a friend, it's that she's completely and utterly devoted to you. Though she doesn't understand much, just having a friendly face to talk to every day can help you through the week, and she's always available for cuddles and hugging. Her inability to understand complex social issues is often a good thing, as this means that she won't be able to spread your secrets along the grapevine like other students might.

Likes

First and foremost: Sweets. Any kind of sweet available in Halloween. She will love you forever if you give her sweets, and that isn't an exaggeration. Hope you wanted a big, feathery, socially awkward companion, because you now have one.

Want to win Kevin's heart, but don't have any sweets with you? Just pay attention to her. Pet her feathers and talk about anything. Chances are she won't understand you, but the emotions you're conveying won't be lost on her, and the physical attention will just make her like you that much more.

Dislikes

Kevin dislikes when her friends are sad. When her friends are sad, she is equally sad. And clingy. She will cling to you until you feel better, no questions asked, unless you've trained her to go away. Also, she dislikes the go away command.

Sour foods are the most disgusting thing ever to her. Because she eats anything that is thrown at her, she will eat sour foods - but she'll hate you forever because of it. Do you really want a bird-girl making loud, awkward screaming noises every time she sees you?

Shunning is possibly the worst. Thing. Ever. Though Kevin is thick and won't recognize insults unless they are said in an explicitly mean way, when she does pick up that she is being made fun of, she will start squawking at you. Loudly and obnoxiously. Every time she sees you. The only people who don't get this treatment after making her an enemy is adults - around adults she cringes and avoids them as much as possible, as she fears the power they have.

Natural Ability

Kevin's one natural ability is that she can run really, exceedingly fast. Like, so fast that if she runs into something like a wall, she'd be pretty badly hurt. Though this ability has its perks, the slightest trip up can spell broken limbs and lots of bumps and bruises.

Love?

Kevin doesn't understand the concept of love. As love is one of the most complicated concepts ever, it's highly unlikely that she'll ever understand it. While she will reciprocate physical advances such as hugging or kissing, she will need to be taught by someone that these aren't gestures you use on everyone. You can imagine how disastrous the time after her first kiss will be.

Trainability?

Sadly, due to her intellectual circumstances, Kevin can indeed be trained by other students using sweet treats or attention. It isn't even that difficult to train her to do silly little things like fetch or carry books, as physical tasks are her forte. She gets sulky if her trainer doesn't give her enough treats or attention, and may begin to disobey their orders if she is ignored long enough.

There are some restrictions on what she can be trained to do, however. Due to her passive nature, Kevin will not attack anyone or anything outside of an official battle. She also will not do anything that breaks major school rules, as she is fairly fearful of being shunned, especially by adults. Finally, if a student tries to tell her to do something that contradicts a previous order (I.E. Student A tells her to take a book back to their dorm, then Student B waylays her and tells her to drop it in a toilet), she will obey the student she likes best, assuming that their order doesn't break any of her other standards.

History

Kevin's history is of little significance. She appeared in the pumpkin patch one day, as many younglings do, just out of thin air. Perhaps a child had had a bad experience with a bird-wielding clown; no one is really sure what could've spawned her. For awhile she wandered, unsure of what to do in this place that she just sort of...well, popped into. But she was lonely out in Halloween Town! All of the denizens were busy with whatever they were doing, and no one ever had enough time for poor Kevin.

Then one day she was caught by a school recruiter. Oh, how nice the recruiter was! For the first time someone petted her feathers and scratched that one, nice spot under her beak and gave her treats. Then the recruiter uttered a few weird words and then finally, "Amityville Academy." He then went on to explain what it was - it was a 'school', where the children of Halloween learned. Learned what? Important things. How to be a better monster, how to scare humans. And most importantly, it gave you the chance to be with others, others that would have time for petting and talking and loving.

Naturally, Kevin was all over this idea. Students!? Classes!? Woo! With all of her idiotic optimism she enrolled right away and settled into student life.
