Now, her attention was on the splashing water. She trotted through it before stopping at it. Once again, the mare lowered her head down to the cool liquid and sniffed at it. It sure smelled different than the water of the lakes and rivers she came across. Slowly, she dipped her lips to the water and took a sip. Yet again, she tossed her head as she lifted it up away from the water, letting out a nicker of disgust. She had a look of disgust on her face as she looked down to the water. "Yuck... this water is disgusting!"
So far, her trip to this place wasn't too fun.

The taste of the water he knew was bad, Asa had made that mistake once. He'd discovered the beach, and the...bad water, some time back. It was a afternoon flight which had brought him here, his wings had been getting tired from flying most of the afternoon.
It was another warm afternoon and the wind had decided to come to the beach. He'd been luck enough not to have such an encounter with a crab, though he did know what they were. They didn't appear very nice, those things they held out and snapped looked painful. He was sure they couldn't kill him, or at least he was mostly sure of this, but he knew better than to annoy one - which seemed easy to do.
Landing on the sand, turning his head away from any possible blow back, he stopped and stared. It was due to turning his head he caught a mare flipping one of those creatures off her nose.
Chuckling he trotted her way, wings folding up along his sides. "Are you alright?" He asked, giving her a curious and completely concerned look.

Quidal looked around, frowning since her experience in this location was starting off so bad. She hoped to find something that would make up for the bad luck she just had, but so far... there was nothing. The mare nickered softly to herself, short tail twitching lightly. She was unaware of the other soquili that had landed on the sand of the beach and was now approaching her, the sand muffling his hoofbeats up for some distance. It was when she heard his voice that her ears flicked back before turning to face him. "Oh? Yeah, I am fine... just more surprised than hurt really." She answered with a small wiggle of her nose, a small mark still being there from the sudden pinch she had received previously.

"I haven't been bitten by one, but I can imagine it's a shock. Such little things, and such a temper." He said, shaking his head and huffing. Tail flickered while one hoof lightly pawed at the sand, as if in some small attempt to perhaps dig up a crab.
"But did it hurt, or what it all surprise?" Since he'd never been pinched he felt a need to ask, to know the unknown. It seemed like it may, if bitten in the wrong areas.
Wings flexed, giving a quiver, before opening and catching the warming suns rays. "By the way, I'm Asa."

"You're lucky." She replied with a small snort. It's not like she was mad, still just a little annoyed from the initial contact with the odd creature. She watched him hoof at the sand for a moment before moving away from the water, her fur now starting to get wet from the ocean's spray. Getting a good distance enough away, she shook herself off, but it only left her fur more clumped than dry.
At his question, she looked back to him for a moment then to her nose in thought. "Hmm... it didn't really hurt too much. It was slightly uncomfortable though. I'm sure if they were bigger, it might be more painful than a hinderance." She answered, her short tail flicking before looking up when she heard the strange cry of a bird. It seemed to be mainly white with black tipped wings by what she could tell. This place is chock full of interesting things. She thought.
Shaking her head, she turned to face the stallion, especially after he introduced himself. "Nice to meet you Asa, I'm Quidal."

"I'm glad it didn't hurt. I'd imagine that if it didn't hurt now it would, if they were bigger." He stated, his eyes up toward the flying bird. How he loved to fly, the freedom and the feel of the wind. It was all quite uplifting, in a literal and not to literal sense.
"I wonder if these things." He stated, motioning to the crab on the sand. "Are found any where else, outside of an area right near the ocean." Maybe deep in woods, in lakes? He wasn't sure. But the idea of them dwelling in lake was rather interesting. He might just have to explore that, and find out on his own.
"What brought you here? I don't see many here, whenever I'm here at least."
(Sorry it's been so long. School killed me, and rl.)

She shuddered at the thought of the little creatures being bigger. "I don't think I would have been so foolish to bother the thing if it was any bigger." She replied, looking to another small crab scuttling by. When he questioned if the crabs could be found in other location, she got a pondering look on her face. After a few moments of thought, she finally replied with a flick of her short tail. "I'm not sure, but they look like something more aquatic so there probably be some form of water around where they reside." Now she was curious and will have to start seeking these little creatures out more to see if her hunch was right.
"Oh me? I was just doing my daily wandering and wanted to go some place new and I stumbled upon this little patch. What about yourself, do you come here often?"
