A large stack of books sat on the table which Lilith sat at, looking forlorn and dusty with neglect. From what she could tell, the books she had picked had not been enjoyed for quite some time - perhaps a few months. But she needed some time to clear her thoughts and her mind. Specifically, she needed to forget about Lennyka, and what she had said.

Oh Arceus, what had happened to her?

Death threats and accusations were so unlike the quiet bookworm that Lilith first met here in the library. What had snapped in her? What had gone wrong? Lilith ran her hands through her long, brown hair and winced at the tangles she found. She could only assume how much Sorano blamed himself for the behavior of his sister, but she wanted to help as much as she could, which explained why there was a stack of psychological and crime books in front of her, and why they remained unopened. Some books were from the library, some belonged to the Rocket therapist, Isadora, and some were of Lilith's own collection. No matter how she tried to persuade herself, though, she could not bring herself to tackle the stack.

It wasn't like books would help her in the long run, anyway. Lennyka's behavior was unlike anything that Lilith had ever seen or heard of before. She had wanted to talk to the doctor who had helped her so much for the past months, but she knew that Len was very unstable in her current situation, and she didn't want to upset her even more.

All in all, she was in a dilemma, and she didn't know what to do. All she could think of doing was to sit in the dark library in the middle of the day and stare at the stack in front of her, wishing that she had the willpower to read it.

And I thought I was crazy...

That is why harnessing the powers of both Palkia and Dialga would be utterly catastrophic. Think of the theory known as "The Butterfree Effect". In correlation with the chaos theory, a simple beat of a Butterfree's wing could stir a chain of events leading to a natural disaster killing thousands. As profound as it may appear, many have tried not to capture the power of these two elements not because such calamity may befall the Earth, but because calamity might befall themselves. Nature, a dynamic force in the Pokemon world, also has her own powers in controlling the effects of time and space. Theories speculate Mother Nature can branch off a person into another alternate dimension-

"Get to the point already." Eyes of a burnt bay traveled along the horizon and crash of words, looking for the main meaning of the passage.

. . . Simply put, if you kill a person in one dimension, they are dead. Hypothetically, it is said that another dimension is created to support the idea of that person living. In another dimension after, the probability of that bullet ricocheting and killing both the victim and the shooter is also prevalent.

Her mind was warped again with methods to dispose of the trash spilling into her world. Since that day, she had been researching every single idea she could. From the profound to the most probable, all were listed on that single sheet of paper scribbled with black marker.

"This is hopeless." she said and thumped the book to the side. "Time-space, my a**. As if I am tech oriented for such s**t . . . "

Ah, what next?

"I'm tired of research."

Ah, what next?

She pressed her temple to the library table and shut her eyes, gripping the table side leg deep within her gloved hands.

Ah, what next?"

"I don't know."

What next?

"I don't know."

What next? What next?

"I said I don't know!"

Books were splattered from the table to the floor, pages aflutter in their mundane flight. Len stiffened her hands to her head, trying to steady herself.

"I'm not ready for this. If I am going to do this, I have to be ready. I'm not, I'm not . . . "

Through the quiet gloom of the library rang out a cry of annoyance and of despair, and it made Lilith almost bolt out of her chair in her fright. Alarmed and perturbed, she stood and peered curiously around the stack of unopened and lonely books. There was no one there.

She stood and turned on the spot, glancing all around her. There was an absence of anyone in the aisles near where she had situated herself. Now curious, and slightly scared, Lilith slowly began walking and looking about her for any signs of life in the library other than herself. After carefully glancing into several more aisles of shelves, she took a chance and peeked behind a large shelf. What she found was the source of the noise, and the source of Lilith's current fear.

There, in front of her eyes, was Lennyka, sitting at a desk, looking more than a little disturbed.

Lilith gasped sharply, then quickly covered her mouth in shock. She hoped that she hadn't made a loud enough noise to attract Len's attention. Silently, her mind raced. Should she leave? Should she go and tell Sorano where his sister was? ...What was she even doing? Lilith blinked and strained her eyes to see what exactly Len was reading. When she knocked the books off of the table and yelled, Lilith flinched and shrunk behind the shelves.

No seriously... What was she doing? What was she thinking?

The silence was thin and the sharp intake of air made Lennyka push herself up from her seat immediately. She had thought herself alone amongst the towering shelves of books she called sanctuary. Apparently, she was wrong. This angered her more and, violently kicking away the books, caused her to stomp in the direction of the sound.

"Is someone there? Show yourself!" she commanded violently.

She was not in the mood, not in the mood at all to deal with another person. She didn't care if it was the librarian hurrying over to sputter, "Shh!". She didn't care if it was another peering in on her out of curiosity. She didn't care if it was a higher-up looking to wring her neck. She didn't care, did not care, just didn't care at all. To know she was being watching upset her, greatly, and that person had to apologize.

"People should know to keep their noses to themselves." she said. "People should know to not stick their filthy, mucus filled noses up into another person's business, but people don't listen. Don't listen at all."

She could feel the blood boil within her.

"People should know not to, but they do it anyway. Such hypocrites."

She drew nearer.

Oh s**t oh s**t oh s**t oh s**t...

Lilith shrunk farther behind the shelf and began to shake in fear. Her breath and heart rate quickened until she felt like her heart would rip itself out of her chest and stab itself. At this point, she would probably prefer that fate to what Lennyka had threatened to do to her.

She stepped away as quietly and as quickly as she possibly could, doing her best to step lightly. But she could hear Lennyka advancing closer and closer to her, and from the sound of her voice, Lilith could tell that she meant serious, crazy business.

Arceus, Ho-oh, and every other Legendary: give me strength.

Hesitantly, LIlith spoke. She kept her voice quiet and low, in the slight chance that Lennyka would not recognize her voice and stay away.

"I am so sorry. P-please forgive me; I didn't mean to intrude."

Like a cenobite discovering the truth that their beliefs is a full, muddy pack of lies, Len continued to rage at that unidentifiable figure. However, even with a head full of anger, she had not lost her naivety. When the stifled voice rang through in response, she halted, and justly nodded her head to the voice.

"Alright." she said, reconsidering her actions. "Alright, you're forgiven."

She had forgotten where she was. It was her sanctuary, her heavenly haven. Violence shouldn't ensure here. Returning to her seat, Len disregarded the books she stepped upon and kicked the seat across from her out from its rest.

"Take a seat." she told the person in a devilish tang. "I want to talk to you."

She had a pretty good idea on who it was.

It took a mountain of self-control for Lilith not to breath a huge sigh of relief, but her mind, she was shouting out loud. Oh, praise be the maker!

In her tiny sanctuary of the shadows, Lilith clutched her pounding chest and took deep, steady breaths. She listened to what Lennyka had said and was quickly running over her current options in her head. As far as she could tell, she could either hightail her sorry butt out of the library and get to safety, or she could accept Len's invitation and talk with her, which meant being at her complete mercy. If she ran, she could go tell Sorano where Len was and what she was doing, but if she did, he might chide her for not talking things out with Len...

Lilith decided to talk with her. After all, what could she did to her in such a public place as the library? She had nothing to fear... right? For her sake, Lilith hoped so.

Slowly, very slowly, Lilith stepped from her hidey-hole in the shadows and sat in the chair, facing Lennyka. Every instinct in her body was telling her to haul a** and get out of there, but she stayed put, hoping that she wasn't making a huge mistake.

"Mm, I thought it was you." she said dully, holding her face upright with a flexed elbow and fingering a morsel of teal hair. "I am rather pissed off it is you, but it is you and I can't deny I knew it to be you. It was rather rude for you not to show yourself sooner."

She paused. "Considering what you are and all, I don't have to repeat myself. You don't have to worry your pretty little head though, I won't do anything here. You're safe, I just want to talk like I mentioned. Than you're free to go suck face and screw that sibling of mines all you want."

She sighed. "You probably want to know why I have this unknown vendetta against you?"

She chuckled. "There's a reason, a big reason, possibly a selfish one, but its there."

She chuckled again. "I'm avaricious, Lilith. I don't like to share. I don't like to share at all."

Lilith casually propped her elbow on the arm of the chair and leaned on her hand, which she had balled up into a fist. Truth be told, she felt very assured that Lennyka would not pull any stunts, and those worries were alleviated by the other woman's word. Lilith knew that she was in the lair of the beast at the moment, but she had to remain calm.

"You know, I wasn't really concerned that you would harm me here. I didn't think that you had spiraled down into the inferno so much as to make good your threats in a library." She tried her best to stay as stone-faced as physically possible, but all efforts of that were lost when Len mentioned that she could "screw that sibling of hers." That statement completely broke Lilith's defenses, and she looked away, blushing furiously for a moment. She regained her composure, but she still felt rattled by the thought.

Lilith looked back at Lennyka in surprise. She didn't like to share...? What could Lilith had possibly taken from Len? With a jolt, Lilith's mind recalled the completely and utterly obvious answer: Sorano. Len thought that she was stealing Sorano from her? Or was it his love that Lilith was stealing? Lilith sighed and spoke softly. "...I see. I see now. You don't want to share him."

"You only see but a snippet of the entire picture." she replied, snorting lightly to her reaction at her perverse statement. "When we were young, we existed in separate domains. He to a life of frivolous splendor, of anarchy, friends and young women. I was a naive innocent who strayed away from men and the like, choosing a deny a social life for an intellectual one. With no friends, I had no one to talk to besides my older brother."

She paused.

"At a young age, he became my everything, Lilith. He was my best friend, my world and I my heart practically shattered when he disappeared into the currents of Team Rocket. Even so, I did not hate him. I didn't. Even though he broke my heart, I chose to love him with all the strewn little pieces. We rekindled that loving sibling bond when I found him again but still, he felt stray. He was never fully there when I called to him. Something was intruding in a peace and that item, believe it or not: was you."

Her nails began to dig into the wood of the table, the crunch evident as Lennyka spoke. She removed her hand next, leaving crescent indentations in the furnish. She was getting angry again.

"Eventually, I became invisible to Sorano. He didn't know I existed anymore. Yet, I congratulated him. He had made it far in a life without me . . . and didn't need me anymore in his pursuit for happiness. I turned to another to save me, the behemoth up in those clouds. That monster who said would always be there when we wanted him. But when I called, he never replied. When I cried, he never came. When I begged, he never granted. He never listened to me, ever. Yet, when Sorano was knock dead cold for three weeks and I prayed, he never awakened. But when you!"

She shot an interjecting finger at her.

"When you shed your Totodile tears to that demon, he broke Sorano from his trance. Sorano woke up, bright and beautiful like a blossomed bud. It was unfair . . . that the love of a hussy like you! brought him to life when I prayed every single flippin' day for three weeks to have him rise."

She had risen to her feet now in yell.

"It was unfair that you stole what I worked for! It is unfair that you have to steal what I find dear! You're a thief! A blatant thief! And you deserve to die!"

"How... how dare you?!

Lilith knew that the "behemoth" that Len had so disrespectfully mentioned was the same deity that she had prayed to, one that she had learned to worship and praise. She still held tightly to that belief, and hearing her god being scorned so was infuriating. She stood, eyes narrowed into slits of rage.

"You dare question the grace of Arceus? You dare question His power? What... gall! What scorn! His blessings are given to those in dire need, and..." While she spoke, Lilith realized what she was saying and knew that this was a losing battle. Not wanting to press the matter, Lilith changed the topic.

"In any case, you could at least be happy for us! Or, at the very least, be happy for Sorano! You wanted him to wake up, and he did! That's all that matters, isn't it? The fact that I was present when it happened is inconsequential." Lilith tried her damnedest to keep her voice as calm as possible, but it was becoming more and more difficult to do so.

"From what you have told me, it seems like you and Sorano were very close while growing up, and besides that, you're siblings! Your hearts will always be close to each other, no matter what. That's how siblings are. I wouldn't really know by experience, being an only child..." Bitterly, she laughed. "I suppose that might be why I'm not the best at sharing. But Len..." Lilith turned to look right at the other woman.

"It's not about sharing Sorano, and it's not about stealing him, either! It's about both of us, and us each holding a piece of Sorano's heart. He cares about both of us. I know it. And we both care, too. Can't you accept that?" Her hands balled up into fists.

"Can't you accept that I love him?"
PostPosted: Mon Jan 03, 2011 12:51 pm

"No." she bluntly replied. "I have made my decision." She slapped a clenched fist to the table. "And I will stand my damned proudest to make it a reality. You have intruded on grounds where you didn't belong."

There was much more than simply the matter of sibling love. Something much deeper . . . a hate and love spiraled all into one. It was confusing, it was a mess and it was surely damn hard to get out of the carpet but it was something she did not spill. It was simply something . . . something that wanted not really much Lilith, but only her brother gone. Lilith was only an intrusion.

Len, in all reality, did not even want to touch Lili. Her threat was to scare her off. However, he attempts were futile. She didn't budge. Was her love for that terrible brother of hers that true? She'd have to try harder. She'd have to try harder to break them.

She giggled. "You're a fool for loving him." she said. "So all in all, vaffanculo." What french for such Italian! "Death is inevitable . . . some come by natural causes, others by the hands on those unsuspected. Be thankful I warned you and I'll see you in hell."

Lilith lowered her eyes and stood her ground. She was not going to let Lennyka intimidate her. No freaking way. She had gotten this far against her and she was not going to back out now. Len had threatened the lives of both her and Sorano, and even if she was Sorano's kin, the act was unforgivable.

She chuckled. "Fine. If that is the case, let me be a fool. At least I shall be a happy fool instead of a lowly, lonely bookworm like yourself." She did not know what "vaffanculo" meant, but she could imagine nothing that would be pleasant or fair-weather.

At Lennyka's parting words, Lilith merely beamed. "Don't worry: if I am to depart to the gates of Hell before you through some means, I'll be sure to send a postcard." With that, Lilith had nothing more to say, and she wanted to hear nothing more from the deranged woman. She turned on her heel and proceeded to exit the dark library. She gave her acquaintance one last slight wave and called to her.

"Good day, Lennyka."

She simply scoffed and turned her head as her prey, so she believed, retreated. As soon as the grunt turned the corner and left as far away as possible (so she hoped), she melted into a sopping mess of tears.

Why?

Why the sudden flood of anguish? Her insides squeezed and choked with a sudden ring of heavy, heart-aching pain. Why? She sighed and when her overflowing glass finally spilled back to half-empty, she grabbed a random book off the shelf behind her and flipped it to a random page.

What she grabbed seemed to be a magazine of art masterpieces and the charmed eyes of Girl With a Pearl Earring starred back to lackluster umber ones. Len smoothed one hand across the silk page, another over the softness of ear.

"I should start wearing pearls . . . " she thought, smiling. "Yea, pearls . . . white pearls on silver. Yea, I should . . . maybe I'll get them for my birthday? A present to myself . . . that sounds wonderful."
