((Picking up where we left off in the thread, and to keep track of it 3nodding )) Andrani Padding softly up to the great monolith of stone, Danzi looked up at it. Somehow, looking at it, he felt... At home. He didn't know why, though. He'd never been here before he reached the borders. Taking a breath, he started up the slight slope of it, spying Sarabi lounging some distance away. He found his paws turning and carrying him towards her, remembering how she had reacted when she'd first seen him. Curiosity nagged at him. Why had she reacted in such a way..? Even if it was a brief moment, he'd still noticed it... Bluefire Dragonz Sarabi smiled as she watched the young Ta bound away down the side of Priderock. At the sound of pawsteps behind her, she turned her golden head to train curious eyes on a rust colored form. "Danzi?" She inquired, lifting her head in greeting. "How are you doing this fine day?" Andrani The black-haired young male sat down near by, bowing his head a bit. "I'm good. And you...?" He still had questions bouncing around in his head. Others were coming to his mind beyond the reason for her momentary reaction to first seeing him, such as if she knew the lion that plagued his dreams. Bluefire Dragonz "As well as I ever am." Her smile remained soft as she turned her face to look out over the home she loved so much. It would be painful to leave it when the time came... But at least she'd still be able to watch over it. The queen sighed softly, her smile a little sad. She flicked her eyes to the young male, noting the strange expression on his face. "Did you want to speak to me about something?" Sarabi asked quietly. Andrani He nodded. "Yes... When I asked to join the pride, I noticed that you seemed... Startled about something... And I think it might have been something about me... I've been wondering, why...?" He tilted his head, dark green eyes full of wondering and curiosity.

Bluefire Dragonz The queen though for a moment, her eyes on her paws. "Well... you know that the king had a full brother, right? His name was Taka, and he died in the plague. Well... he looked very much like you, save your coloring is lighter. When I first met you, I was startled by the resemblance, and took you for him for a moment." She chuckled, waving a paw as if to ask him to forgive the wanderings of her aging mind. "It was just my mind playing tricks on me, is all." Andrani The rusty orange lion looked at his paws. "I see..." He thought about his dreams suddenly, then titled his head the other direction from before. "Did he have a scar on him somewhere...?" He lay down, settling a bit. "I wouldn't ask, but... The closer I've come to here, the more I've had these dreams, and in them, every time, is an older lion that looks like me, but... Darker... And he has a scar over one eye..." He sighed. "But who am I kidding? They're just dreams, after all." He let out a laugh, then looked out at the lands. Bluefire Dragonz Sarabi chuckled, streching her paws out before her and sinking onto her stomach. She sighed gustily, pausing to lick one. "You seem to be a true-dreamer, young Danzi. Taka was much as you described. Darker, and with a scar over one eyes. Thus, why he was called Taka." She chuckled again, looked up at him as she swished her tail. "If you know the history of our Pride, you know that he was to be the one to rule the pride, till the rogues took over. Mufasa was the one to liberate us. He was hotheaded and rash back then, but had the strength of will to see it through. Taka would have prefered careful planning and tricks to steal back the throne, but his brother beat him to it." Andrani The young lion nodded, thinking over that. "Did he have a mate at all..?" Well, every male adult he saw in the pride so far had a mate, why wouldn't the now-dead prince have a mate..? He turned his eyes to the queen, wondering about the lion. "I mean, it's not my place to ask, just..." How could he say it, really? What his mother had told him... All he knew was that the faceless lion who'd fathered him was from the general AREA, but that could be ANY lion who was old enough.

"Not that I know of, young one." Sarabi flicked her tail, curling it around her paws. "He was always a loner, and never had many friends... Prone to wandering, much like most of my cubs. He traveled the whole of the Pridelands, maybe even beyond our borders." Lifting her paw, she washed it carefully before using it to wash her face. Laying on the rock had coated her creamy pelt with dust, and this she carefully cleaned.

Danzi digested this new information, thinking about it. His mother coming to mind, a new question came to his mind. "Did a golden lioness ever come here..? She had markings kind of like Maawio, but the fur in the area just over her eyes was kind of a light yellow, her hair was white..." He tried to remember what his mother looked like, but it was so long ago that he last saw her.

Sarabi chuckled. "This is a land of golden lionesses, Danzi. Before the plague, there were many lionesses like Maawio. Though, the markings you speak of..." The queen drifted off as she thought, her head tilted. The description nagged at her mind, ringing in her memory. She had seen a lioness like that once... but where?

His ears flicked a bit, sighing a bit. Maybe his mother had lied... Then he looked up when she trailed off, noticing the look of deep thought on the queen's face. "If it helps any, my mother said that where she stayed, with the lion she stayed with, you could see a giant pointy rock in the distance, and that the place that she was at was always dusty and dark, kinda greenish glow... I think what she described was the Elephant Graveyard, since I've never seen anywhere as dark, dusty, and.. Glowy... As that place.." He'd also never seen anything quite as prominent a stone monolith in the land as Pride Rock, which was saying something, since he'd certainly HEARD of plenty of dark, dusty places like the Elephant Graveyard.

Sarabi frowned. "The Elephant graveyard? I've never heard of lions staying there, since its the territory of the hyenas, and they dislike lions intensely..." She thought back to the times she'd been there, though she'd never really gone farther than the edge of it. A memory drifted out of the fog in her mind, and she remembered seeing Taka once going into the graveyard. Curious, she'd gone as far as the edge to see what he was doing.
Had there been a flash of gold among the bones? A lioness she'd seen for a meer moment before disappearing? Sarabi shook her head slowly, not really saying yes or no, meerly expressing her confusion an inability to remember.

The young lion sighed, not noticing the look in the queen's eyes. Laying his head down upon his paws, he stared off into the distance. "Maybe she lied about it... Maybe my mother was never here at all... Or in the Graveyard..." He sat up, stretching a bit. "The hyenas, the green glowing geisers, all of it..."
His gaze scanned the lands, then came upon a cave in an outcropping near Pride Rock. "Though maybe she WAS telling the truth..." He stared at the cave, thinking of what Madaha had passed down to him and his sisters. "She said the lion she said was our father lived in a cave beside Pride Rock..."
His ears fell a bit again. "But maybe she made that up, too." Standing, Danzi shook at his dark mane. "I should probably go..." He looked back at Sarabi. "Unless you wanted company? Perhaps someone to tell stories of the past to?" He shrugged a bit. "I'm afraid I rather missed out on that kind of stuff growing up."
