She hadnt expected to become a mother so soon. She was still only a youngster herself. However she took to the new job rather brilliantly. She was happy to have such sweet babies. Of course, she knew they werent all as sweet as they seemed. She wouldnt let on that she knew though. She liked that they were clever enough to try and hide things. True pirates, she was sure.

The golden female grinned, laying on the earth and rolling onto her back. Her golden bracelets and hoops jingling as she did so. Her headpiece covered one eye, and she looked at the cubs as they played. She would have to leave them soon, and leave them in the care of the other females.. the Wenches. Such a harsh word, she thought, but some actually chose to be such things.

"Careful children. Do not hurt each other. To learn to be pirates you must be of good health."
It wasnt a needed commodity, but she would never let her children go out on the raids, if they were hurt or sick. She wouldnt risk their lives..ever.

Omari was lying down and smiled briefly at his mother as she spoke, nodding before he placed his head over his paws once again. His blue eyes followed the jingling bracelets appreciatively but quickly strayed towards the dark headpiece and the torn fabric around her body, which had suddenly become his favorite adornments. He had been wondering if there was any chance a little cub like him could get his hands on a piece of fabric like that. Probably not.

He sighed quietly before yawning and the cub’s gaze traveled around to meet each sibling. He was looking for Zamora, of course, wondering if the presence of their mother would be enough to keep her in place for a while. Again, probably not.

He narrowed his eyes contently, enjoying the salty breeze that ruffled the dark tuft on his head. While Makena was around, what his sister did or did not do was none of his concern - though the cub did wonder what it would be like once their mother left the five cubs with the wenches.

It was a familiar sound, one he found comforting and reassuring because it meant she was nearby and could protect him and his siblings. Sure, he knew he was supposed to be big and strong and protect his siblings in her absence, but that was a terrifying thought. Entirely too much responsibility for a cub like him. Which is to say a cub who hated violence and blood and all that sort of stuff.

"What?" he said to Omari, doing his best to fluff up and look intimidating. "What're you looking at?"

He wasn't going to get into anything more physical than possibly sitting on his smaller sibling, which he didn't think would violate their mother's rule about hurting one another. No one would get hurt if Pizarro sat on them, as long as they didn't shift too much. He wouldn't sit on them so they couldn't breathe or something. He could, but he wouldn't.

Zamora had been watching her mother intently, looking for signs of stress or fatigue, she was determined to take her role as mom's protector seriously, as soon as she figured out how. It couldn't be that hard, could it?

The crimson eyed cub turned her attention to her brothers, knowing the two of them had to be up to something, or if they weren't they should be. She snorted at Pizarro's display and reached out a paw to swat at his tail.

"He's not looking at you Pizzy, he's looking for me." It was, of course, a complete guess, but lately Omari had been keeping a weather eye on her and she'd bet one of mom's shinies that she was right. She gave Omari a cat grin and sauntered over to him, doing a fair impersonation of a pirate's swagger, even if it was a bit rough around the edges, " He's wondering if I am gonna behave or not." Her tone was filled with a good natured teasing as she flopped down across Omarii's back.

Zamora leaned over an gave her hapless brother a good chew on the ear, before she licked him affectionately, Omari should know by now behaving was a relative term for her. Shouldn't he?
