AMITYVILLE ACADEMY ENROLLMENT FORM Name: Sazhdi (sah-zee-dee) June Nicknames: June, Z, D Gender: Female Age: 17
Faction/Race: Demon (Ash Essence Demon) Natural Ability: Disintegration - Her body disintegrates and turns into ash. Cohesion - Basically the opposite of disintegration. However it's possible to form a weapon or mutate oneself through this method. (see Fear) Fire Retardant - Ash can't catch on fire.
Personality: Arrogant but isn't aware of it. Tries to be modest. Stubborn. Socially retarded. a*****e. p***k.
[ x ]"Here, let me help." She likes to help people out of the bottom of her heart. Well not really but that's what she insists she's doing. Technically, it would be the truth because she honestly doesn't have an ulterior motive that she's aware of. The real reason why she's likes to help others is so that she looks better than you. She wants to feel superior/special and she craves the feeling. (She wants to appear smart and helpful; she's a poser so to speak.)
Despite her intentions she is willing to go out of the way to help others. She's nice until the point where you piss her off (which is harder than it sounds) or when you make her depressed. June, just like everyone else feels the need to be wanted. If you become close friends with her she's loyal to you for life and will hesitate to leave you even after you betray her. To people she cares for she can be quite prejudiced, preferring them over others. A loyal friend and a caring ally.
When she was just a tot this behavior was encouraged through her relatives that were the same age as her. During that time she showed higher than average skill (for her age) at controlling her natural ability. Her cousins asked her for help a lot. A LOT. As a kid who received a s**t load of attention, she got used to having it.
Then she got a swollen head and then her cousins were turned off by her over the top arrogance. June started caring less about what other people thought until she reached the point where she was avoided by her family members. When she became 16, she was sick of being deprived alone and miserable and learned to be more modest. (at least on the surface)
[ x ]"Watch your step. Wouldn't want you to trip." There are a few things that make Sazhdi snap. Sure she tries to act nice (and deep down she kind of is) but she kind of grew up... wrong. Things can go really wrong when she becomes a victim of her own emotion and sometimes she's not the only victim...
1) She really dislikes it when she's around people that are flamboyant with their talents. So much, that she may actually do something malicious completely out of the blue. it will most likely not be planned out either (ie. pushing someone down the stairs because she happens to be in an opportune moment). Since she tries to force humility in herself, she'll just end up bottling her frustration.
2) Feelings of inadequacy. If she fails at something it will hit her even harder than normal. This isn't normal rage that she feels but an intense need to make herself look better even if it means making others look worse. When Sazhdi is in this state, which should appear rarely, she might even go after people she considers friends in order to make herself feel better.
[ x ]"Uh.. Um... Nice shirt. Oh Jack! I mean–uh... nevermind." Remember when I said that June got a swollen head? Yeah, her cousins stopped hanging out with her and she basically had no social contact for a few good years. So basically she will be socially retarded at times and will say very awkward things at the worst moments. She didn't learn how to fit in properly and it shows. She won't know if she breaks a social taboo and tends to be put off other people with her behavior despite her self-absorbed kindess. She'll eat when you're trying to talk to her, barge into a room without consideration to the people inside or outside, enter rooms without permission, and so on and so forth.
[ x ]"No–do it like this." In most situations she'll act with humility and consider another person's argument before speaking. However there are times when June believes with an intense passion that she is absolutely correct when it either comes to an opinionated view or factual information. She'll insist that she's right and you're wrong with a know-it-all tone.
If the discussion/argument continues, she'll normally she'll give in after a few minutes (she doesn't like conflicts) but there are those once in a blue moon arguments. During those times she won't give up and will keep pushing with an intense (most likely temporary) hatred for the person she's talking to. On the occasion she finds that she's about to lose one of those "blue-moon arguments" she'll switch to a fake happy/embarrassed face (she's really furious at you; expect grudges) and pretend she made a stupid mistake and will act like she didn't just make a huge fuss that probably disrupted everyone in the room.
[ x ]"Hey you! Yeah you! ******** YOU, a*****e." She tries to be cold-faced and mature. Really, she does. June does her best to appear mature and to look like a high-class demon. Her dream is to become someone who can take insults with a mocking laugh, analyze a situation in a heartbeat, and can manipulate humans like it was nothing at all.
Too bad it'll never happen. June is far too emotional, prideful, and blunt. She'll want to say that she's above the "petty insults of immature gremlins" when in a smack-talk fight but instead she'll probably think too slowly, loose her temper and just shout out "I don't give a s**t what you think a*****e! GO THE ******** AWAY AND ***** **** **** UP YOUR **** ****!"
Okay, so she'll probably won't ever say something that long and mean, but her body posture will say it for her. That or her fist about to crash into your face. All in all, her poker face is terrible and her body posture tends to contradict her mouth. Even so it takes quite a bit for her to blast out. Most insults she just grind her teeth at, but keep pushing and you'll eventually be bitten.
Why did they enroll at the academy? To gain her passport so she can haunt a place with an incinerator, maybe a volcano. She thinks she's ready to go lurk in the human world but she totally isn't. Was sent to the academy by her parents who want to make her realize how much she sucks inexperienced she is compared to adults.
Fear: Her body is composed from ash and is part of her fear. Changing time varies from a few seconds to ~3 minutes.
At full use of her power she can turn her entire body into a large cloud ash-beast that will swallow up her prey. (Mini-Pompeii; Pompeii was of course, a collaboration of several powerful ash-essence demons.) She will not have the ability to turn her entire body into ash. Currently waaay too weak. Will be possible after graduation. Maybe.
She can disintegrate into ash then cohere into a different shape. Her favorite is turning her left arm into a thin sword. She's quite skilled with it but it tends to be either dull, snap on contact, or disintegrate again when she doesn't concentrate. Lasts at most 10 minutes. Her second favorite is changing both of her arms into beast arms. This form is easier to maintain since it's more humanoid than a blade. Her arms touch the floor and she only has three clawed fingers on each hand. She mainly uses her arms for blunt damage rather than using her claws. Can last for an entire battle with an hour cool down time. If she's not in a battle she can maintain the shape of the arms for most of the day.
It's easier to change shape into something humanoid rather than anything else (her sword). When she's not transforming into a humanoid shape, the difficulty of the transformation depends on the shape of the objects (straight sword vs. nunchucks)
Defensively she can disintegrate any part of her body into ash but she can't reform anything besides her arms. When disintegrated that part of her body cannot be hurt my physical blows (they'll just go through). Disintegrated takes a few seconds which makes her defensive ability useless on surprise attacks. Lasts up to a minute.

SAZHDI'S MINI-PETS "Nones" the Bomb Sazhdi sleeps with Nones in her bed. Had it since she was a baby from the pumpkin patch. She cares for it a lot and tries to hide Nones from other people. "Ides" the Matchsticks Something that she just carries around. It doesn't look like it's important to her, but she takes care of it for some reason.

This is my first time criting so I'm not sure how helpful it'll be but I'll give it a shot anyway ;D
Apart from gaining a mask of modesty and being slightly unsure of the correct thing to do in social situations what else did going from Hero to Zero do to her? Being suddenly ignored like that after years of being in the limelight is something that defiantly would cause some issues.
What sort of things cause Sazhdi cause to loose her cool and start shouting? From what you say it sounds like personal insults get her most but what specific insults?
Lastly it's a tiny bit confusing how much she actually knows about her behavior. Does she point blank not know it's not acceptable or does she acknowledge it and just not care?

yay first crit! |D thank you!~[ X_Bleeding Roses_X ] Apart from gaining a mask of modesty and being slightly unsure of the correct thing to do in social situations what else did going from Hero to Zero do to her? Being suddenly ignored like that after years of being in the limelight is something that defiantly would cause some issues. oo, that's true. i would say that it effected her in a few different ways.
When Sazhdi is in this state, which should appear rarely, she might even go after people she considers friends in order to make herself feel better.[ X_Bleeding Roses_X ] What sort of things cause Sazhdi cause to loose her cool and start shouting? From what you say it sounds like personal insults get her most but what specific insults? There is no specific insult. She takes them all the same; doesn't really listen to them that much either. How much effort is put into the insult determines if she snaps or not. So something like "you're a b***h" will ignored but something long like "go die in a hole because you piss me off blahblahblahblahblahblah" will make her snap. Most insults will just get a "Tch." from her.[ X_Bleeding Roses_X ] Lastly it's a tiny bit confusing how much she actually knows about her behavior. Does she point blank not know it's not acceptable or does she acknowledge it and just not care? I'm not sure if you mean her arrogance or how she acts in public.
She knows it's not acceptable behavior to be arrogant and she tries to hide it. But of course she's not exactly going to change her way of thinking so easily since it's bred into her (she is a demon after all). She knows the consequence and tries her best, it's just sometimes she forgets.
Following the social guidelines is more that she doesn't know them rather than she knows what she's doing is wrong. If you remind her, she'll bite her tongue and try to fix it. But she's going to forget again. She has horrible memory with things involving people.
thanks again for the crit; it really helped!

After reading through your quest there's anything that really stands out as being problematic with Sazhdi.
I think she's fine. OTL I wish I could give you more to work with. ; n;...
My only thing is you should at least try to put one redeeming quality.
Argh. I wish I could help you more. ; n;.... Sorry. I really like Sazhdi. Hope you get her!
