Malmoria, the fourth planet in the Eldar System, located in the Inner Rim, is the home to the Morian people, also known as the Longbeards. When the Confederacy scouting parties made contact with the Longbeards, the population wished to pledge to the fledgling Confederacy, however the planet's leaders refused to join and surrender their power. The people began a rebellion, supported by the Confederacy, and clashed with government forces. The Confederacy, meanwhile, engaged in a space battle with Morian forces and soon dropped a real invasion force to assist the native warriors. The new government of Malmoria pledged and became a part of the Confederacy Empire. Malmoria grew quickly into a trading port exporting a fine silk-like material called thymil, as well as clothing and tapestries made from the thymil.

Malmoria was the site of a small skirmish between the Confederate Imperial Navy and the Restoration Alliance armada late into the war. The Confederate navy was humiliated by the Alliance at Malmoria and retreated to Dojouro. The planet surrendered soon after the Restoration Alliance dropped troops because they would be defeated without naval support. After the war, Malmoria pledged to the Galactic Federation of Free Worlds. Soon after, the planet defected to the Tarsonian Quadrant. A Federation emissary attempted to convince the planet back into the Federation, and when he was refused, the Galactic Federation invaded and occupied the planet for a year, until the people pledged to return to the Federation.
