xPhysical Description: Ume Midori is an attractive woman to say the least. Her skin is soft and smooth and she has light brown eyes. Midori has brown shoulder length hair that is tied back asymmetrically to the back left of her head into a downward-flowering fashion with her bangs parted to the right and opal colored bobby-pins arranged to resemble an X on her left side. Ume has a thin and moderately average, in the best taste, build. She is average in height with minimal to almost no muscle tone complimented by full breasts. It's been recently disclosed that she is indeed a C-cup.
Personality: Ume Midori is an odd young woman. At the age of sixteen, she was diagnosed with OCPD (obsessive compulsive personality disorder), which causes her to do many strange things such as open and close doors multiple times before entering or exiting, keeping lists (the most she has ever carried was 17), counting random things, and the need to have objects organized in an attractive and orderly manner to name just a few.
Even if you can get passed those abnormalities, she is still somewhat of an odd girl. Though Midori is a serene, harmonious person, she is quite simply a strange girl. Her demeanor is distant and dreamy, as if always lost in thought. While conversing, her voice holds a quiet yet calming tone and she seems to speak rather slowly, as if in no hurry to complete her sentence. She gets along with nearly everyone she meets, mostly because she is a good listener and she is very easy going, and polite. She carries a very calming air about her.
In battle she keeps her calm, seemingly detached demeanor, as if not worried about the outcome of the fight. However, this does not make her an easy opponent. In fact, it almost works to her advantage because her foe will often underestimate her. She is in tune with her surroundings. However, she has a major weak point. Because of her OCPD, she has been shown to do some rather strange things during battle. During a training exercise in her academy days, Midori noticed that her opponent's shitagi had a length of thread hanging from the sleeve and she spent nearly half of the battle attempting to yank it off.

Zanpakutou Spirit: Amaterasu takes the form of a plain white wolf. She speaks with the voice of a human, and she is very reserved and wise. Amaterasu is very protective over Midori, almost so much that she will often come off as controlling or demanding. When talking to Midori, she seems almost like her mother: authoritative, yet caring.
Inner World: The inner world is a vast forest surrounding a large, old Japanese shrine. The shrine itself is quite decrepit and rundown. It was once a gift to a long forgotten God.
Sealed Form: It takes the form of a regulation katana. The wrap around the hilt is a deep purple and the tsuba has a rounded rectangular shape.
(Not obtained yet) Shikai Name/Release Phrase: "Show them your light, Amaterasu!"
Shikai Description: One would think that the release of a shikai would create a larger and more powerful weapon, but for Midori, her weapon transforms into a simple 12" white-bladed tanto with a blue wrap around the hilt, which seems to glow with light. This shorter, lighter weapon makes her faster, more flexible, and more accurate.
Advantages Increased speed, flexibility, and accuracy. Midori can manipulate light, bending it to blind or burn things (nothing very large, though). When the sun is casting its rays on the battlefield, Midori is at a considerable advantage. She also has a slight increase in strength, of course.
Disadvantages: Due to weapon length, her reach isn't as far as it once was, and she is sometimes without power in the night-time, as there is no sunlight.
Shikai Powers/Attacks:
- Hikari no shÅten!: Midori raises her tanto and gathers sunlight in the edge of the weapon, which she is able to use in various ways. The light she absorbs remains dormant in the blade until used in battle.
Dangan!: Sends bullets of light in 3 round bursts that travel about 2500 feet per second. They pierce and leave burns.
Nami!: The swing of her sword sends a wave reminiscent of the original Legend of Zelda at her opponent. Travels at speeds of 1000 feet per second. The attack is like a long range heated sword slash.
Kakushi mashin go shurui no furasshu!: Midori points her blade toward her opponent and it sends a blast of bright light that blinds them for seven seconds.

Midori Ume
born in 61, daughter
of a tired salesman.
He was often quite
busy with his work. No time
with his little girl.
Thus, Midori turned
to her dear loving mother.
and their bond grew fast
But of course, death is
never an expected guest.
It waits for no one.
It took her mother
swiftly and with no warning
on a cold fall day.
Now the girl felt
truly alone. Her eyes lost
some shine they once held.
It was sometime in

ill, and death swooped in.
Most people say she
died peacefully, with a soft,
warm smile on her lips.
