Bangil was in a bit of a mood, Jarita was getting on her nerves..sure they were bet friends and all but it was hardly because they had much - if anything at all - in common with one another..and lately all this nonsense with Eversong was just rubbing her the wrong way.

SO she'd set off this morning with the intention of having a 'me' day..or at least getting a few hours peace and quiet, where she could ignore all their lovey dovey shenanagians. Of course what she hadn't counted on while planning this day was just how incredibly bored she would be wandering about on her own.

I mean it was literally the dullest day she'd ever had and as she walked along the pathway idly kicking a stone along in front of her with her front hooves and seriously considering turning around to go home and hang out with Jarita and Eversong after all.

Daphne had never been this far out from the village before, but she was really beginning to enjoy herself.

The flowers the children had placed in her mane and tail had stayed put for the most part. She snorted, blowing a chunk of her mane out of her face and then shook her head carefully to get the rest of it out of her way without dislodging her pretty additions. These were fresh, after all. The girls in the village might not mind put more flowers in her mane, but Daphne didn't want to be thought of as careless.

Really, though, there wasn't much green this far out into the plains. Daphne turned about in a circle, looking for signs of flowers or hardier plants. She didn't see many plants, and no flowers, but there did appear to be another Soquili over there.

Daphne watched the Soquili kick what appeared to be a rock and hesitated momentarily, feeling uneasy. This wasn't one of the Soquili of her village. She had led a rather sheltered life and wasn't sure what to expect from those outside of her herd, and she wasn't sure she would be able to tell if she were in danger until she were too late.

Would a dangerous Soquili be kicking a rock? Her mind gently chastised and Daphne conceded the point. They would not.

That settled, Daphne moved forward at a trot towards the-- definitely another mare-- female so she could catch up to her.

"Hello?" Even already too deep into her choice to turn back, the flowered Soquili couldn't help the question in her voice, though she was happy to note there was no flight response lingering in her mind.

Bangil was somewhat startled to hear another voice so close and spooked slightly before registering that the voice had been friendly sounding - that is what you get she told herself, for not paying attention to what was going on around you.

Turning about to regard the mare who was walking towards her Bangil noticed the flowers in her hair - great probably another girly girl like Jarita the brown mare thought to herself - never mind the fact that she'd only moments ago been wanting to go home and see Jarita."Hello" She answered mostly out of reflex.

Daphne smiled hesitantly and slowed to a walk when she got close. The polite greeting in reply made her smile widen and her shoulders lose some of their tension. This didn't appear to be a hostile encounter, and she somehow thought there would be more kicking and general impoliteness if the mare were cruel or aggressive.

"I'm sorry if I'm bothering you, but do you need help? You looked a little lost." Daphne glanced down at the rock that was now sitting in the dirt. Well, maybe lost for what to do, if not lost in the sense of location.

"I'm Daphne?" She offered, her ears perked forward in curiosity.

"Bangil" She introduced herself after Daphne had - it was the only polite thing to do really and if there was one thing Jarita had managed to beat into her skull over the year it was politeness. Mostly,

"No, I wasn't lost...just..wandering" She offered after a few moments of thought "I was supposed to be taking a day to myself, kind of feeling like a third wheel lately with my friends" She confessed "But i forgot how incredibly dull it is to wander about by yourself" he concluded with a sigh, though really she had no idea why she was standing here pouring her heart out with this stranger.

"Oh!" Daphne's smile blossomed and she pranced over to stand beside Bangil. The bangles around her front legs bounced with the movement, the light catching on the metal and throwing it onto the painted beads. "I was just seeing what it was like this far out on the plains. I guess I was getting away from a group too, in a way. I could keep you company? Until you go back to your friends."

Truthfully, Daphne liked having other Soquili around as long as they weren't interfering with her private time. Since this wasn't her frolicking by the river or munching grass by the wildflowers the children liked to tuck into her mane and tail, having another Soquili around was all right. Besides, aside from the frightening bone headdress Bangil was wearing, she didn't seem so bad.

"Are your friends part of your tribe, or have you been traveling for a long time?" It was curious to her, a mare who had been in the same tribe all of her rather short life, to think another mare could simply wander off this far from any tribes any time she and her friends got tired of one another. That implied a traveling herd or something similar, and that alone baffled Daphne's homebody tendencies.

Bangil wasn't finding the plains all the interesting to be honest...they were far more boring then the swamps or the forest tended to be but she got the feeling that this Soquili didn't get out into the world very much. Bangil couldn't see any other reason the plain would be interesting - or maybe she was just jaded today due to her foul mood. "That would be nice I suppose" Bangil answered the mare. It wasn't like she had anywhere else she really had to be.

"We don't really live with a tribe..." Bangil told her "Theres just me, my friend Jarita her mate Eversong and Jarita's mom most of the time" She explained "And we go wherever we want really"Though honestly they tended to keep to the same general territory and just move about it as the weather and season's dictated.

Daphne stared at her as if the mare had just run up and headbutted her in the face. No tribe and no real herd? There were some stories about Soquili who ran alone, but Daphne had never experienced such a thing before. Well, Bangil technically had a herd but it was more like a small family she happened to be attached to.

That's still kind of a herd? Daphne thought, attempting to come to terms with such an upheaval to her usual world.

"You're one of the free-roaming, then?" She asked, smiling slightly. No longer faced with surprise, her voice had softened to the gentle tones it had had when Daphne first addressed Bangil. Now, though, it was to carry on polite conversation. "Do you find it exciting, all of the moving around you must do? I imagine you can meet many different kinds of Soquili that way."

Bangil wasn't sure what she'd done to make the mare look at her like that...surely it couldn't be the headdress...she'd have already reacted to that if she was going to but an uncomfortable silence seemed to descend upon their conversation at this point and Bangil hifted her weight slightly unsure just how to break it..afterall she really had no idea what she'd said in the first place to start it!

If only she was more refined..better at this small talk type of thing, like Jarita..or Char...they never seemed to make the social missteps that she herself did.But then she expected she'd have to spend time actually caring about what she looked like..and try not to get dirty and well...Bangil just wasn't the type for that sort of thing. She liked the swamp and the mud and the dirt and was perfectly fine with the fact that having fun in such places often meant getting dirty.

"I guess it can be" She told the other mare "I got lost once when I was a foal..that was pretty exciting..though I suppose having a set home would be pretty nice too"
