One of the more peaceful routes, the path between these two countries is a man-made dirt road in which one simple has to walk the distance. Although the area was once known for rogues and bandits, most likely lingering patriots that still held ill will towards the Fire Country for their participation in the destruction of their Country. Even though the Rain Country has recently been rebuilt for the better, some still retain enough foul standings that they would go so far as to hassle travelers from time to time. It is best to keep on the road and not wander off.

Shiori ran as fast as her hefty weight would allow her. Her red clogs thudding loudly and her various curves jiggling with each stride she took. She couldnt see how other ninja could move even faster than this and for so much longer. Granted not all of them had her physique but muscle weighed more than fat. So how on earth did they manage? There must be some kind of careful balancing to it all. After running what seemed like a far distance to Shiori she had to sit down and take a break. Falling to ground with a rather loud thud she began to pant heavily. Sweat trickling down the curves of her large body. As she looked back she noticed she hadnt covered as much ground as she had hoped. For most ninja a travel from Rain to Fire wasn't very much at all. The two nations shared a border. But for Shiori who was obviously not as fit as other ninja the trip was much harder on her.

Having finally rested enough and recaught her breath she slowly rose to her feet. Gazing out to the road and the border of the Fire Country she had a worried look. Not about how long it was taking her but more about what would happen when she reached the Frost Village. She really wasnt going to be able to get in very stealthily two gather intel. Maybe she was simply to ask around? Or would there be allies there she could ask? She prayed that would be the case. Despite her passing her fathers test she felt there was no way she could hold her own in a fight with another ninja. She couldnt even catch one who was blind off guard.

Shiori continued down the road running as fast as she could. Putting her weight forward she hoped the shift would build momentum enough to pull her towards the Fire Countrys border a little faster than she had been going the last time. As she ran she thought back about Itsuko. She had just up and ran from him. It made her feel terrible but she couldnt stay with him after her unwomanly habits had embarrassed her so much. He must hate her for it. Surely he did. Just like the other students at the Academy had. As her eyes became a little damp she shook the thoughts away. She had a mission to complete. Now was not the time to be thinking about this and feeling this way.

On a random whim she performed her jutsu. "Nikudan Sensha!" she called out. Her body turning into a massive human boulder. This hid her face from anyone who happened to pass by. Not only that but she moved much faster now. Though she hadnt thought about it it was also slowly draining what chackra she had. She wouldnt be able to keep this up for very long if she was going to keep herself prepared for her arrival to Frost. Though even when her chackra was beginning to run low she didnt deactivate her Akimichi clans jutsu. She kept on going and going as if she had no intention on ever stopping. She was both mad and sad at the same time. Sad that she had just messed up what could have been her first real friendship. And mad at her and her body for doing so in such an embarrassing and stupid way.

However when she finally came up to walking distance to the Fire Countrys border she cancelled the jutsu at last. However her tiring trip was not yet over. There was still a bit of forest before she reach the Great Nations main land. Now she was at a walking pace. The more and more she walked the easier it was for her to push those negative thoughts out of her head. Due to all the exercise the trip was providing her unfed stomach growled at her yet again. Demanding some kind of food. Her mind distracted and unaware of the rest of her body she became exposed to something she hadnt known of herself. Shiori somehow quickly snatched up a squirrel that had been on a near by tree. She quickly shoved the poor creature into mouth and swallowed it whole alive and still struggling for its life. Having quickly digested the unfortunate woodland creature Shiroi unknowingly let out a small belch. A sign of the animals death. Completely oblivious to the act of cruelty she had just performed she finally reached the Land of Fires main village Konohagakure.

“Let us get in and get going then…” Hatsuma commented choosing to leave the obvious bad blood between the two for another day the mission was important for more than just the tribes so it was crucial to remain focused and maintain a objective orientated attitude about the entire situation. In either case she had some reading to pass the time as they traveled as she still had the book from the abandoned buildings they had been at earlier. Climbing up onto the grease reeking contraption she made sure she was securely place before she pulled the book out and began to thoroughly look over the pages taking in information about these many legendary blades likely things they would need to be dealing with. Once Oasis hopped aboard the machine rumbled forward. With a loud bang of the exhaust the machine came up to a fair clip and they made their journey to yet another strange land. It was something Hatsuma would have to get used to since they were assigned an important and rarely occurring task to gather the tribes of the Majiit to the central land once more to unite against a currently unknown enemy. Much of this was strange and needed to be figured out soon or things might end up getting far more difficult then was needed. They had already confronted two parties of the enemy both targeting Majiit made things. They clearly knew something of her people and likely had some sort of spy within one of the clans, it was likely they would be looking for clues as to the person leaking information to the enemy as well while gathering them together. For now she focuses on the current task which was to gain information about their current targets… these seven swords of mist country. It was likely they might be targeted for their power was similar to that of Majiit made weapons.

Oasis jumped into the strange contraption and prepared herself as it let out a bang and took off. She closed her eyes and thought for awhile, her origin was frost, but her home was truly in wind. She wondered why her parents had not told her about frost? Oasis rubbed at the back of her head thinking about it as the machine grumbled along. Though as it rumbled along she found herself thinking back to things she had noticed at home. The people in the place she called home really did have a different skin tone from her, and her parents. However that didn't matter, because they all treated her like family, where as those in frost all seemed so awkward around her. Oasis held a hand firmly against her forehead as she contemplated things deeper than her mind normally cared to go. "So. we are going to find these... mist swords, because they are after our weapons?" Oasis questions lightly as she finally looked up, she stared to Itoku which she could see through a viewing window.

"That, would be the jist of it Oasis." Itoku states as the machine continued forward. "However, its more, to see who they are and what their goal is." he adds in a somewhat dark tone. His long ears cocked to the side slightly. "Hmmm." he murmured something to himself and the machine suddenly turned from the set path and started down a much rougher one.

"What is it Itoku!?" Oasis states loudly as she grabbed ahold of the inside of the contraption to hold herself steady. Was the enemy after them here as well? Maybe they were after them, because of the weapon that Hatsuma had secured, and now for the one in Oasis' possession. She narrowed her eyes, if that was the case she would give them one hell of a fight. As the machine rattled through the rough terrain a loud explosion rang out from the path they were on, Oasis could only just make out the path from where they were, a small convoy of travelers was being assaulted by a group of rogue shinobi. Oasis flipped out the door and onto the roof of the contraption, she knew Itoku would not stop even if she told him to. However she needed to help, could she reach the enemies from here?" Oasis took a deep breath and watched sharply the movements until she could make out each figure, and identify their purposes. She brought her hands together as her eyes glowed brightly. "Almost..." she whispers as her hands danced through a set of intricate seals before she thrust both forward, and there was a sudden rush of wind and energy that passed from behind Oasis racing towards her target, a sphere of water appeared and grew near the group, the three rogue shinobi jumped back when they saw the water, one of the three shouted something to the effect of 'they weren't supposed to be shinobi!' before the sphere of water exploded casting a boiling bath down on the rogues.

"That was unnecessary." Itoku states as he looked back for a moment at Oasis, who's body was alit from each of her markings glowing. She cast a look back to Itoku and shook her head.

"Your wrong." she states as she held on to the top of the carriage. "They were going to do those people harm. If I can see someone getting hurt before me, how can I not do something to stop it, how can I not help them." she retorts as she stood up casting the coat off she rolled it around her free arm and looked at the rabbit for a response.

"...Using your techniques like that, can alert the enemy to our position." Itoku states, giving the very retort she expected him to give. He kept his attention to the movement of the vehicle and the surroundings.

"I don't care, we can fight the enemy, those people were unable to fight back." Oasis states before flipping back down into the carriage. She dropped her coat into the compartment under her seat and proceeded to remove the rest of the heavy and overly warm clothing until she was back to her normal attire. "He's a stuffy bunny..." Oasis states with a smirk to Hatsuma.

“Itoku is right… we shouldn’t do anything that might give our position away…” Hatsuma commented having set the book aside for the time being. “...You should develop some techniques that can be used more covertly so your cover doesn’t get blown… Anyways I’ve been reading some things, it’s a high probability that these weapons have nothing to do with Majiit handiwork, however the intruders in frost likely couldn’t read as they seemed to be more or less puppets being controlled… the enemy may think that the weapons would be beneficial to them in some way… though we aren’t certain of their goals it might be smart to gather information on the weapons as well as try to acquire one to make sure they don’t get a hold of it if nothing else…” Hatsuma explained giving the book a pat as she mentioned her reading. By now the terrain had switch yet again revealing a bit greener flora then even fire country if that were even possible. It was likely they were nearing the border of Rain Country.

Sorain kept his hood securely tucked over his face as he road on the back of his wolf summon Raze through the adjacent travel route located between Fire and Rain. This route was no wear near as harsh as the one between Fire and Lightning, a fact that was slightly odd yet still refreshing for the now lone Missing Nin. Sorain had just left his brother, and was now going to try his hand at doing things solo for awhile. Back in the cave that they had found Sorain had come across records that alluded to Kirigakures Legendary Mist Swords. These swords were the prized possession of Kirigakure that had been lost for many years, even the slightest hint that its location was known by anyone living was enough to set Sorain in motion. For a moment he felt sort of bad for not informing his brother about it, but the fact was when tripped of choice, there was no limits to how far a man could go with enough ambition. Had he informed his brother of his actions he would no doubt wish to accompany him, something that he simply could not allow, at least not yet. He loved his brother, but they had different ways of doing things and the last thing he needed was to but heads with Sai this early on. No, he would rather distance himself from his brother rather than have to hear his disapproval of his actions.

Any one of those swords would be extreamly valuable, but there was one that he spacifcally had in mind, a sword that god like qualities that was rumored to have a will of its own and even if he did not locate the sword of his choice he would still be able to fetch a decent payout for such a thing. For a moment Sorain considered returning the swords back to Kirigakure where they belonged, but this thought was instantly tossed aside when he considered that they were foolish enough to loose them in the first place. No, he would seek out the swords for his own gain and when he had them, no one in this world would be able to stand in his way. Sorain had ever intention of devoting his life to hunting these swords down and exchanging them for a great profit, from which he would set the rest of his plans in motion. To seek freedom in his own way.

Sorain sighed as he tilted his head back and felt the coolness of the rain that fell over his tanned skin. It was good that he still had that jacket or else he would have been in for a far less comfortable trip. Kicking his heels together he ordered Raze to pick up speed and get him through this path as soon as possible. He needed to be fast, there was no telling how many people already knew about this. Logically if such information was just lying around for anyone to find, how soon would it be before this information went main stream and the entire Shinobi world was after them? This was simply something he could not allow to come to pass, he was going to get his hands on those swords, even if he had to rip them from someones cold dead body.

As the rain continued to pour over head Sorain began to fall deeper into his own mind as he pondered his conquest. With the money he would surely get for selling off such a valuable weapon he would be able to fund his creation of the Hidden Ice Village or Aisugakure. His plans were already set forth in his mind. He would create this village for any and all whom needed a place to go after being cast away from their own villages. No longer would a Shinobi be forced to live under the oppression of the major countries with no alternative. His home would be welcome to all, no questions asked and anyone whom dared to contest his territory would meet a slow freezing cold death. Sorain lifted his head as the anticipation began to build in his body. Forming hand signs Sorain caused an ice mirror to develop right in front of him, causing Raze to immediately run through it. Here, inside this frozen world, time stood still, and allowed them to move at speeds unmatched by man kind. Miles down the road another mirror stood empty for only a split seccond before a flash of blue and black came across its screen and quickly disappearing into another one. This method of travel was the fastest that Sorain could think of and cost him little to no chakra to perform, simply creating Ice mirrors further and further apart and using them as travel points for him to almost literally teleport between them. Soon he would be in the Rain Country and from there he would head directly over to Earth where the information that he found in the cave had instructed that he go. There he was to meet with a man whom was said to have been the single person that Kirigakure trusted to take the swords away when Kirigakure was under attack. It was during this very attack that the protecter of the swords was set upon and forced to ditch the swords in random locations that to this day still remain unearthed. It was previously assumed that the man was dead, but according to the documents that he had found, he was very much alive, and not that hard to find, one simply had to know where to look...

Zeru slept in darkness the last thought in his mind was that of trying to save his brother, now he drifted in black emptiness until he felt something it was an odd sensation his feet where hurting like he running along a road, but that couldn’t be as he was clearly not moving but as he focused more and his mind un blurred he could feel everything moving he forced his mind to focus more and slowly opened a blurry eye and then the other to see nothing but haze at first then he saw a blue blur in front of him as his eyes came to focus he saw it was a large wolf carrying someone, Zeru didn’t recognize at first but as his mind came back to him he realized it was Sorain. Zeru yelled and tried to stop running but his legs wouldn’t let him he looked around and saw Takera running next to him, this had to be a dream.

Takera had been unconcious since the Gen Sai had cast upon him. Throughout the period of time he had been unconcious he had been in almost like a dream, but it was pitch dark and he was frantic. He had almost relived memories as they vividly appeared to him. A lot of things processed in a short time, but a memory kept repeating itself that caused anguish. He watched as his failure in their battle would replay itself over and over. Finally Takera's consciousness was returning slowly, but surely. For a while his mind was ajar. He had been in and out trying to stabilize and as his vision would blur and then clear. He lifted his head up a bit and finally realized that he was alive and moving. For a moment he thought he had blacked out for a split second and came to still running from Sai and Sorain, but the thought was immediately dispersed as the weight of his brother was gone and he saw Sorain riding ahead of him on a what looked like a wolf.

Takera wasn't exactly sure what had happened. Were we captured? The last thing I remember was being struck by Sai and all feeling fading from my body. What happened? Takera thought to himself. He glanced over at Zeru who had seemed to recently become conscious himself, but rather than utter any words, he turned his head to look back behind them. Seeing no one, Takera looked forward towards Sorain and from there on didn't take his eyes off him. I don't understand this at all. Takera thought. Things began to process as he carefully thought things over once more. The area they were in was unfamiliar to him. He had no idea where they were or why they were there. Takera was curious to know just where exactly they were being taken and why they were still alive, but for now he remained silent. Things were too off. If they were truely captive, then why is it the only one guarding them was actually putting distance between themselves and us? Neither himself nor Zeru were bound by any means. None of it made sense, but one thing was certain. They weren't just going to oppose Sorain and walk away scott-free. He brought us for a reason otherwise we'd be dead right now.

Sorain forced Raze to a halt to allow his two 'puppets' to catch up to him before moving on. Sorain rubbed his fore head, what was he going to do with them exactly? It was not like he could keep them trapped in his Genjutsu forever the strain would be entirely too much, he knew that it was his job to see them returned to the Mist Village, but he had buisness to take care of first. Sorain remained silent as he almost entirely ignored the fact that they were with him, they were his captives now and what happened to them was entirely up to his will. He decided that it would be best to just keep them with him a little while longer, that is until he had a better solution. Maybe he would just drop them off somewhere and let them find their own way back? The thought was not entirely off, it would work he supposed, but then again he was sure he could come up with something a little more clever.

After a few days of traveling, Drake finally was approaching the Rain-Fire border. It seemed to be taking alot longer than Drake thought it would. Then again, he did come all the way from Konoha, so of course it would take him awhile to get to this point. Drake stopped next to a tall tree and sat down in the shade. He pulled out a small cantine filled with water, and drank a few mouthfuls before putting the cap back on. After he put it back in his pack, he reached into the pack and pulled out a small map. Drake figured he was about an hour away from the border, but at least three days of crossing through the Rain Country before reaching the Earth Country, and that's if he doesn't run into any trouble. After one more look at the map, Drake then put it away back into his pack. He sat there for a few moments with his eyes closed, and started to think. 'Well, I'm not far from the border, yet I haven't seen anyone else along or near the route I've been taking.' Drake thought as he sat there. 'Well, best not to take any chances. Once I'm close enough, I'll quickly cross the border, and hope I don't run into anyone. As for what I'll do then, well...' Drake let that thought wander. Once he entered the rain Country, it will be a matter of avoiding people as he makes his way across that will keep him on edge. After a few more moments, Drake stood up and, picking up his pack, started heading toward the border.

As Drake walked, he thought more about what he was going up against. He already assumed that ninja from every country could have heard the rumors about the Swords, and that some of them could be coming to collect them, especially the Mist ninja. They would have the most reason to recollect the Swords. And the other ninja would want them only to increase their overall strength, much as Drake was. But his mission was not only to find one of the Swords, but hopefully understand there history. The text back in Konoha only went so far as to add there initial abilitys, as well as the past users, but none of it talked about there origins. Perhaps this "quest" will be a bit more enlighting.

Drake walked along a bit, only to soon realise that while he was thinking, the time had gone by alot faster than he thought, and he was almost at the border. Drake quickly jumped up into a nearby tree, opened his pack and pulled out the map, and started to looked at it. After a few moments, Drake was certain. He was at the border. Quickly making a few scans around him to make sure no one was watching the border, Drake was certain no one was nearby. Putting the map away back into his pack, Drake dropped out of the tree, landing on one foot, then quickly fell into a sprint through the forest. Drake made his way past trees and bushes, dodging branches and logs, untill he came right to a small clearing, which indicated that this was the border between countrys. Drake came to a stop, and knelt down behind a bush. After a few moments, he didn't see anything on the other side react to him. He then stood up and quickly went back into a full sprint and made his way across the clearing. As soon as he got past it and went into the other side, he stopped again, and jumped up to a large branch on a tree, and knelt there for a few moments. Now that he was in the Rain Country, he was in unfamiliar territory. All he could go by his map, and stay away from the main road. 'It's better to be safe than sorry.' Drake thought as he jumped from branch to branch. After awhile, Drake stopped on another branch to rest. Three days was going to take him a long time to get to Earth Country, but if he was careful, nothing should go wrong. Drake stood up, then went back to jumping from branch to branch. As the minutes went by while moving, Drake thought about his home in Konoha. He didn't know anyone to make sure everything was alright in it. Hopefully when he gets back, no one will have broken into it and taken his stuff. As he thought more about, he kept remebering something important. Something he was supposed to do. But, no matter how hard he thought about, he couldn't remeber what it was. Drake shaked his head. If it was really important, he wouldn't have forgotten about it. Drake decided to just think about what he was currently doing than about something he could do later. Hopfully, he'll be out of Rain and in Earth in no time.

Sorain stopped almost on a dime causing waves of splattering rain expelling forward loosely into the air. With his eyes closed Sorain leaned his head up and allowed the rain to wash over his face, sending him the quite obvious signal that he was at the borders of the Rain Country. As he inhaled, Sorain could catch the damp sent ambiently lingering around him. They were not very far off, maybe a few more miles which meant that they had already covered the majority of the distance. In about five hours they should be reaching the borders of the Fire Country, in which it was only a very short hike around its walls to get to the Frost Country where the first sword on their list would most likely be located. Sorain smirked to himself, it was always good to have the ability to tap into peoples minds. After having them mentally trapped for so long, such information seemed like an open book for him, almost as if Takera was literally screaming to him the answers that he sought. Taking a pause, Sorain stood up straight and turned around to allow his group to catch up to him so that he could further brief them on what was to be expected as they proceeded.

Answering the question that Takera had submitted to him, " The Swords are very powerful and very valuable. They were forged a very long time ago and used to almost ensure Kirigakures victory in the Shinobi wars. However, they were abused by their protectors and stripped from Kirigakures control. Now we seek them out, not only for power, but for control. If each of use wielded one of the seven legendary swords it would be just the leverage that we need to capture the true prize." Sorain said, using the term we loosely, he had no illusion that his little group was following with him out of true will. Truth be told, the only reason they were sticking around was simply because they had no where else to go. The world was cruel for Shinobi whom had no village to claim them. Out in the real world, they would be easy pickings for some of the most ruthless that walked this earth. At least with Sorain they were dealing with an enemy that they were accustomed to.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 09, 2011 5:45 am

Takera listened as Sorain began to tell him a very blunt answer to his question. Takera could feel Sorain trying to dig around in his head, but just as Sorain reached the point of reading 'Snow' from his mind, he willed Sorain out of his head and broke the last vestages of control Sorain had over him with the ability previously applied. Takera moved his head in various directions and slight pops could be heard. "Ahh. That irritating itch in the back of my head is gone." Takera looked over at Sorain without turning his head. "So what are the odds if we get one or more of these legendary swords that we'll be going home happy? There are 3 of us and probably more people searching. There's 7 swords total and the chances of them being bundled up are slim." Takera could see Sorain's chakra clearly and had felt the presence of Sorain's mind within his own. He fed forth parts of information as they went diverting Sorain letting him slowly gather some of what he wanted until he reached the point where he began to forcibly probe into the memory of the old man and the direction given to Takera. At that point Takera disrupted his own chakra spurratically knocking Sorain out of his head. Takera watched Sorain's chakra closely. "I'll thank you kindly to leave me my privacy. You can do that much, can't you?" Takera said with a moody tone.

Just then the rain began to come down. Takera felt the refreshing water pour over him and relaxed, but didn't take his eyes off of Sorain. It was going to be a while, but Takera had a good idea of where they were heading. He yawned as the rain began to pour down even harder than before. The rain country was way too dreary and wet for Takera's interest. Like most everything else, rain is nice in moderation, but a country that never stopped raining? That was taking it a bit far. As Takera followed in formation he noticed the land changing and the ground becoming more-so muddy as they went. The surroundings were a bit familiar as they had all been through the general area within the past day or so.

Sorain smirked at Takeras attempts at forcing him out of his mind, "Yeah sure" he said with a mocking tone. Sorain remained still, he wanted to continue as they were very pressed for time, but he could no longer ignore the fact that there was an extra set of footsteps traveling on their path, which meant that there was an extra third person following him which needed to be dealt with immediately. Sorain simply waited, he could hear the foot steps as well as the racing heart beat of the ninja that was following him, he did not seem hostile. If he was then he would have done a better job at hiding himself, no this was something different entirely. "A proper introduction is in order I presume?" Sorain said, turning his head to Takera before returning to the conversation that was at hand, "To answer your question.. The odds that we are going to being 'going home happy' is absolutely zero. Reason being, we have no home to go happily to.. At least not yet. Which is the reason im going for these swords in the first place. Believe it or not, but these swords are a minor stepping stone for the real target."
