As promised, Serenade had gotten Eve to set up a meeting with Rea Marshall, a.k.a. Sailor Pegasus or more importantly, Helios. The time and date was set; it would be at night in Serenade's dorm room. And so, when the time came, Rea was there, unpowered. They had agreed that it would safer that way; having both Helios and Princess Chronos together in a room, or even anywhere outside, would certainly attract considerable attention. It was a serious meeting too, and the subject of the matter had to be kept as low-key as possible.
It wouldn't be nice to have to deal with chaos while searching for the Opal Crystal as seen from the recent skirmishes as everyone scrambled for a Rainbow Crystal. At least they had gotten some of those on their side too, but if what Chibimoon said was correct... there would eventually be another battle between the two sides. And the senshi needed all the help they could get.
"Thank you for coming." Serenade told Rea, seated primly on a chair by her desk. "I'm sure you've been told that this meeting is important. It's about... the Opal Crystal. Our hunch is that as Wiseman... disappeared while trapped in Tartaros, had left the Crystal he had stolen in the dreamworld as well. I seek your help in this matter."

When Rea's roommate and best friend had approached her about a formal meeting with the Princess of the Outer Reaches, she had more than readily agreed, for more reasons than the fact that it was the Princess. Although there was a part of her memory that remembered the formality of Court life and would never refuse even just a requested summons, her current self (as it best could be described,) could not refuse a request from her best friend. Eve had been her roommate at Crystal Academy for years, and her best friend for nearly just as long -- there was very little she would not do for her. The fact that it was Chronos and that she respected and thought quite highly of her only helped the matter.
Serenade had answered the door promptly when Rea had knocked, and she stepped politely into the room, addressing the mint-haired girl with a shallow nod of her head and a greeting of 'Princess.' She could feel the slight tension in the air, less between the two of them as much as surely due to the important topic of conversation that was sure to arise. The slight hesitation and concern in Eve's voice had given as much away, as well as the mention that Serenade would explain when she arrived, but even without it Rea could have guessed. Although they were friendly and had spoken a few times, she wasn't close enough to Chronos to warrant a casual invite. Stepping a little further into the room, she waited until Serenade had sat before doing the same, sitting at the corner of the familiar Crystal bed, listening quietly as she spoke.
"Of course," She replied to the thanks, once again nodding her head in a shallow bow, "I hope I can be of some assistance. I... wasn't there, so there's no real way for me to know for sure... but I think I can guess what happened." There was a slight pause as she thought about what to say next, a visible change in her expression. Tartaros had been a sore subject for her, for more than one reason. "When Prince Alexandros' crystal was broken, there was a backlash -- everything within a certain radius was destroyed. Alexandros himself, as well as Nehelenia, were killed because of the crystal's destructive power, as well as anyone who was in this radius."
Another pause. Rea's expression was hard to read, as if she'd taken a great deal of time to make sure of it. "Unfortunately, it was the crystal that kept Tartaros stable. Or as stable as it ever was. When it was destroyed, even outside the radius Tartaros crumbled and collapsed. It's gone. Anyone not killed in the blast was released from the nightmare's grip and returned to the dreamworld, where they were free to wake up. As for where Wiseman went..."
She trailed off. It was impossible to say -- dream subspace was huge. It contained the dreams of every person on earth. He could be anywhere.
Shifting a little, she relaxed a little as she finished her recounting, looking just a bit sheepish with her behavior. Or as sheepish as Rea could look --she wasn't exactly the most expressive, that had always been more Eve. Still, she looked a little more open than she had been when she'd entered, her expression slightly thoughtful as she tilted her head just slightly, blue-green eyes lingering on Serenade, "Unfortunately, this means the crystal is very likely to be in (...limbo...) dream subspace."
She had to catch herself from saying the nickname she had given it.

The atmosphere did seem rather tense, as if it were two parties in a war talking about reconciliation. Actually no, it wasn't ever remotely close, although it was pretty awkward. Chronos hadn't really had such talks with Helios before, as far as she could remember. It probably didn't help that the topic was pretty grim and there were many possibilities they could fail. They might not be able to find the Opal Crystal in the dreamscape. And what if the Negaverse found a way to infiltrate... No. Serenade told herself sternly. She trusted Helios.
She bit her lip slightly as Rea mentioned the casualties. Among them had been people they had known, trusted, and now sorely missed. It made sense that the Crystal was what had kept Tartaros stable... for it had been the Opal Crystal that had kept the Zodiac Castle secure for many years before.
"So," She ventured quietly. "He might have died in there, or managed to survive?" It wasn't a very pretty thought to think about. The man who had made Coralie do those things, the man who had stolen the Crystal from her, still alive?
"No Elysion then." Serenade murmured. "Well, I didn't expect our search to be easy. Is this... dream subspace difficult to reach?"

Rea gave a deliberately slow nod at the question, her demeanor tensing a little again at Wiseman's mention, her mind not quite able to block out the anger she still felt towards the man who'd manipulated Chibi. It was clear by the steely quality her eyes had taken which of the two she preferred, although there wasn't much worry there, merely anger. Although she would tell no one, she was fairly confident he was dead. She had scoured the subspace for weeks after that, searching for him, although why she could not have said. Revenge? A sense of closure? Or maybe purpose? Regardless of the reason, endless looking had turned up nothing, and although there was indeed a lot of space to sift through, she had been content.
She was visibly grateful when the subject turned to the matter of the crystal again instead of the thief who had stolen it, shifting a little on the small corner she sat on in order to look all the more attentive, her back perfectly straight as she listened politely. "I've never attempted it with others," she replied hesitantly, letting her eyes drift a little to one side, her eyebrows knitted together a little in a considering thoughtfulness. Even to her, accessing others dreams had been an ongoing process, one that she still did not have complete control over, even after such an expensive period of time. It was only the brightest dreams she could usually pinpoint and consciously navigate. Still, subspace was a different beast entirely. Even when she could see no stars, when she had had no idea what it was, she had been able to go there. It had been dark, pitch black and completely devoid of dreams, but she had still subconsciously found her way there. Perhaps the challenge would be less.
"You're going to retrieve your crystal?"
The question was asked bluntly, if cautiously, Rea's head tilting slightly as she turned her blue-green eyes back to Serenade. She was careful to keep her expression neutral, as was typical of her, although there was a hint of curiosity to her gaze, as well as the faintest twinge of concern. She knew the inner turmoil the princess must have been feeling, almost too intimately. Although it had been another life, the golden crystal that was not his had almost rested in Nehelenia's hands.

While most of her agreed unanimously that Wiseman was most certainly dead and deserved to die, and that meant Coralie and many others were now safe from him.... a small part of Serenade had her doubts. Sometimes, she had reflected how easy it was to forgive Kunzite, to forgive Coralie once they had repented and rejoined their side, and knowing that they hadn't meant to do what they had. If they had given Wiseman the chance too, would he have done the same? Would it have been easier to forgive him? He hadn't killed Coralie after all, but even when he hadn't killed her, she had felt that it was because he was playing with her. That she was useless and he had simply dismissed her after he had gotten what he wanted. All these thoughts were confusing, and she did not want to ever run into him again. She hadn't asked Coralie about it simply because she didn't want to dredge up any horrible memories. It was better, Serenade told herself, to let it all rest.
"Well," Serenade said, glancing at Rea thoughtfully. "You did find me in there before. Does that mean we have to be close to each other while sleeping for it to be easier to make contact in there," for at the time, they had both been dorming in Crystal, "or does the physical distance of our bodies not matter?" They needed all the help they could get to scour the dream realm and find the exact location of where it had been abandoned. She wasn't even sure if she alone could sense where the Crystal lay in the dream subspace.
"I have to." She replied with a firm and decisive nod. "I can't just... let things be as they are. The Opal Crystal would be a great advantage to have on our side, especially when friction seems tense between both the Senshi and Negaverse at this point, due to those Rainbow Crystals." She paused, biting her lip. It wasn't only the rational part of her that was determined to go after it. "It is my Crystal after all. I must confess that I feel rather lost with its absence sometimes." It was as if it was a hole in her waiting to be filled.

"I understand. I'll do whatever I can to be of help," she replied, watching Serenade with a politely curious look, watching the regality with which the mint-haired girl handled this situation. Although through literal past experiences she had been privy to a similar situation, in all reality Rea had no idea how Serenade was feeling. She could merely speculate as to the inner turmoil the princess was going through, and not for the first time the Senshi of Dreams felt a deep sense of respect. The Cauldron only knew how much the leader of the Zodiacs had been through even only in this recent lifetime, first with Charonite and the mysterious school that had burned down and then with Wiseman stealing her Opal Crystal. She had also heard the Zodiac numbers dwindled, rumors of deaths that she refused to verify. And yet in the face of adversity, Serenade had always remained strong.
"Physical distance will likely play a part more in finding you than bringing to the subspace," Rea spoke up again, the hesitation she had had of bringing them to the subspace having seemingly subsided, "The closer you and your team are, the better. I could find your team from random locations with time, but I would prefer not to unless necessary." There was a slight bow of her head at this, a respectful gesture. "I can do so whenever you are ready. Do you know how many you'd like to bring?"

Strong wasn't a word Serenade would use to describe herself. Every praise she gotten had been denied on the grounds that she didn't deserve it. There were so many others who had done much more than she had, she was sure. And certainly, she did respect Helios, from what she could remember about him in the past, and what she knew about her right now. Even though Helios did not serve her, the Guardian of Elysion had remained a firm and reliable ally, which she very much appreciated. (Of course, it was also perhaps partly due to a certain Season Senshi that Rea remained their ally.)
"That makes sense." She replied with a nod. It wouldn't do to make things difficult for Helios when she had generously let them have their help, after all. It was another thing to discuss in her meeting with the Zodiacs. "Perhaps a group of Zodiacs. I'd have to contact them personally to discuss that, but definitely Virgo and Taurus. At least, the three of us." There was a pause and then she smiled at Rea, leaning over to take the older girl's hand. "Thank you, Rea. I know I'm asking quite a lot of you. I am honored to have your help."
