The sun was brightly lit in the sky long before Odele finally wandered out of the shade of a large oak tree and began her way down the hill that she used as her resting place every night. It had been a long night for her, as she'd been visited by a black fox whom she'd not been able to get straight answers from. He was very suspicious in her eyes, and so she'd not let her eyes wander from him, nor the shadows that she'd seen him vanish into, until the moon was already low in the sky and the sun was about to raise to start a new day. Shaking her blond mane from her face, Odele yawned and began her daily walk down into the meadow where the other soquili resided. She slightly wondered how she must look, having only gotten a few hours of rest, and silently she hoped she didn't look too disgruntled. It wasn't pleasant to be teased about ones looks, especially when one put as much time into keeping herself as well kept up as one could. Making her way toward the small river to the right of the meadow, Odele gave pause to give herself a once over before smiling softly. At least she didn't look like she had pulled an all nighter over her own anxieties, even if she did appear to have a hard time keeping her eyes open. Satisfied with that, she held her head a little higher before she went to start munching on a patch of green grass, in the hopes that a good breakfast would help perk her up.

Masika was starting to get homesick, this place was nothing like the desert, but, her family had wanted her to spend time down here, learning about the world outside of the desert, and she had agreed. Still, that didn't mean she had to be completely happy about it. She yawned as she made her way down to the little meadow stream she had found the day before, and then paused. Another mare had come down to the stream, and she watched her check herself over in the stream and then move off to eat. Would the other mare get too upset if she was to join her? She wasn't hungry, really, but Masika could use the company. It was lonely here. She stepped over to the mare. " Good morning." she greeted the mare.

The sound of another mare's voice stunned Odele slightly, as she hadn't heard anyone join her. She raised her head and blinked, her blue eyes focusing on the newcomer who'd joined her as she chewed and swallowed what she had in her mouth.
"Good morning." Odele replied softly, tilting her head to the right. "I haven't seen you around before." She flipped her curls over from one shoulder to the other, then nodded toward the grass she had just been eating. "Please, feel free to join me in breakfast, if you would like."
She lowered her head again, taking another nibble before asking politely, "Did you just move here...?"

Two soquili walked along side each other. The dark, older mare gracefully placing her steps in between the slick rocks littering the bottom of the stream, and the young, pink stallion setting his steps slightly sloppier. They walked together, touches of smiles brightening their cheeks, sharing a relaxed silence. Selena looked down at her reflection a few feet away in the sparkling clear water, enjoying her walk with her dear nephew. Though they were far apart blood wise, Sel would allow Ivory to be refereed to as nothing less than her nephew. They had taken the day off from family and relations as they had both realized (during one of Ivory's frequent visits to the Rocket Family no less) that they had not spent time with simply each other since the stallion was a foal. They both loved each other's company. It was a nice change from the laughter and noise their family brought. Ivory had always been quite. The only one from his birth family that wasn't rambunctious. And Selena had grown up in a web of secrets and whispers. Silence was a virtue, after all.
Memories pleasantly weaved in front of her crystal blue eyes and her smile turned fond and her features continued to relax. She looked over to Ivory and playfully nudged his cheek as she could tell by his glowing embers that were his eyes that he, too, had fallen prey to the land of day dreams.
"It is nice to be out again isn't it? So tell me, how is everything with your new family?"Those fiery eyes looked up, blinking as they returned to reality with the shattering of his unfinished thoguht. His soft ears picked up no bitterness in his aunt's tone about his new family. She had no grudge about his moving on, she understood with all that had happened to him in his past. It was something he felt grateful for. The Rocket Family (Selena's mate and two children) did not ask questions. They had piratically raised him. And when he needed family, they were they only ones there. They were unimaginably understanding.
Ivory's pink, boyish features smiled and his eyes light up like a set of candles at the mention of his third 'family'. "They are all great. Akuba has been letting me help him with his work. It is quite interesting, what he does. So similar to the two-legger's style. But so different and adapted." At his aunt's nod of approval and interest, they both dived into a warm conversation, paying no head to the two mares just ahead of them at the stream.
