Name: Evian
Age: 28
Gender: female
Sexuality: hetero (except for Liama)
At what age did they Impress? 17
History: Born into a family of weavers, Evian settled quickly and happily into a life of spinning thread and preparing fibres. With her sharp eyes, Evian considered working with dyes, since she has the ability to distinguish between subtle differences in shading, but she didn't like having her hands stained different colors all the time, and quickly returned to working with spinning and fibres.
She had a very bad experience with her first boyfriend, who sweet-talked her into moving much faster than she actually wanted to go, and might have pushed her farther if her father hadn't intervened and told him that he'd better be proposing marriage. Evian would have married the boy quite happily, but the young man was scared off by her father's implied threat. Evian pined and moped for nearly a full turn, until she was seventeen turns old.
When she was seventeen she Impressed blue Sith, a keen-witted, razor-tongued blue who views everyone with suspicion. Sith hatched from a dark grey egg with a marking on it in even darker grey that looked like a dagger with two downward pointing horns coming from its guard, and he'd come out hissing and snapping. He took several chomps out of his nearest sibling and two candidates that came between him and his goal, which was Evian, who he claimed bloodily, making the hissed declaration, This one is mine.
The pair did not do well in their lessons due largely to Sith's attitude toward other dragons and people, and there was some talk about not allowing them to progress beyond the rank of senior weyrling. Fortunately, the talk was eventually extended to include Evian and Sith, who both swore up and down that they would do better, so they basically went through the entire training process over again on their very best behavior and were tentatively assigned to a wing, whose leader made it very clear that any shenanigans on Sith's part would have them bounced out of the wing so fast his a** would have some nice black bruises to go with that blue hide of his.
The worst disaster, however, came when Sith experimentally flew a very deliberately chosen green. He flew her because her rider was female and he didn't think his Evian would fall in love with her, but he was mistaken, and Evian fell hard for Liama, whose dragon he quickly came to despise. The pair stayed together for four turns, actually, during which time Liama's green was flown by different dragons several times. Liama told Evian that their riders meant nothing to her, but she never stopped sleeping with them after that flight.
When Sith found out, he first warned Liama's dragon that her human was behaving appallingly, and to take her in hand. The dragon laughed at him, which was a huge mistake. Liama's habits didn't change, and the next time her green rose, Sith actually did injure one of the other dragons chasing her, and when he caught her, he hurt her. Badly. Afterward he was abject in his apologies, practically cringing with feigned guilt while thinking about how Evian must be feeling to keep his eyes from betraying his glee.
The green took months to recover, and the relationship between the dragons' riders ended. Sith played nice for a while again and Evian worked harder than ever to make sure things didn't go wrong in wing practices. That was several turns ago, though, and Sith has relaxed back into his nastier ways. Evian remains oblivious to most of his true personality.
Appearance: A pleasant armful with wild autumn hair and honey eyes that are always wide and innocent, Evian has no idea what sort of a temptation she might pose to a certain kind of person. Pretty much everything about her screams "victim," and she is utterly unaware of it. Thank goodness she lives in small-town Ghenza, and there are people to look out for her. She does have some faded scars up and down her forearms and neck from when Sith claimed her on Impressing, but she's not ashamed of them.
Personality: Evian is naive. It's right there in her name. If you tell her a lie, be it something small and subtle or an incredible whopper, she will believe you. Oh, she might point out that it seems different to her, but she's all too easy to convince that her point of view is mistaken. When people tell her conflicting stories, she will be confused and turn into a bit of a ditherer. She will work very hard to synthesize conflicting information, sometimes ending up with completely wrong results and very mistaken beliefs which someone else must then correct.
On a related note, when Evian isn't one hundred percent sure she's right about something, she will dilly-dally and put off making decisions or taking action in the matter until someone gives her authoritative direction. It should come as no surprise that she is a born follower, and rather than resenting take-charge people, she appreciates their confidence and ability to take the stress of decision-making off her shoulders.
It should be mentioned that Evian is highly susceptible to flattery, but absolutely clueless when it comes to any sort of awareness of other people. She simply isn't that kind of observant. She can tell when someone adds a new thread to a border, but she is completely oblivious to young men (and especially young women) checking her out. If people point it out to her, she'll blush and demur, but believe it and spend a lot of time wondering what she should do about it. Mostly she does nothing.
Evian is bad at relationships because she's a naturally earnest person who wears her heart on her sleeve, and truly believes whatever she's told. If a boy tells her he loves her, she believes him, though she's not stupid enough to believe that necessitates love on her part. However, if she's already interested in someone she will be even more susceptible to them, believing them even when it comes to things like cheating or something like that.
Interestingly, Evian is not the sort to hold a grudge. Even when she finds out that she's been hoodwinked, she doesn't get angry, not even at herself. She tends to see it as a great joke that she's glad to have been let in on. The only time she doesn't find it funny is when someone ends up hurt. Like in relationships. She views both of her relationships as failures, and feels horrible about both of them. Particularly the one with Liama. She feels incredibly guilty about that.
Dragon Name: Sith
Dragon Image: Sith is a badass mofo, dark enough to blend into twilight and just large enough (for his color) to be intimidating. He likes to intimidate, too.
Dragon Personality: If there were ever a dragon who was likely to get his rider sent to Nowhere Island, it would be this one. Sith is sharp, but rather like a sword with no hilt, there is no really good way to handle him, except not to do so at all. He likes to hurt people and dragons. Not physically, in the case of human beings, but he'll threaten and insult and offer emotional abuse that his rider is completely unaware of. With other dragons, there is no line he won't cross if given sufficient cause.
Sufficient cause is a highly subjective thing with Sith. Some days he can't be assed to respond to a direct challenge, particularly if it means balking authority to ignore it, but he is always ready and willing to start something with anyone he perceives as a a threat to Evian's safe little world. You see, while he at first chose Evian because he thought she would be easy to manipulate and fun to torment, he quickly came to realize that she truly needed him and loved him, and that took a lot of the potential fun out of his plans for her.
He still manipulates her and lies to her, like he does to everyone, but Evian is probably the only person he feels the least guilty about deceiving, and he is fully aware that it's necessary. He has been trying for some time to keep up a dual facade which protects Evian from the reality of his personality and yet allows him to do as he pleases with everyone else. You know, with the threats and bullying and all that.
Needless to say, Sith does not get along with others, and will only do so at Evian's request. He recognizes this as a distinct weakness, but can't bring himself to do anything about it, because to do so would be to hurt his fragile bondmate. He has no other attachments that are not formed with a specific purpose in mind. Sith is the blue that would fly a gold, not because he liked the shiny b***h, but because he recognizes that it is a way to get ahead. In the process he would happily shred to ribbons the wings of any competitors, or even flame at them. As far as this dragon is concerned, anything goes if it will get him what he wants.
And Sith wants nothing less than world domination. Never forget that, because he won't.
Anything else: I realize this pair would be under very close supervision because of Sith's behavior.
