ZONE 4: SANDY CLAWS' WORKSHOP
THROUGH THE YELLOW DOOR
crossing time: ???

Finally, you've arrived at the goal! As you approach the giant building that overlooks all of Christmas, you see a gnome standing at the doors. "We've got your perimeter taken care of. All you gotta do it get in, grab the loot, and get yourselves out, got it?"

Looking left and right you see several other gnomes sitting cross-legged with their eyes closed. "What?" Door Gnome asked crossly, "You thought we'd just abandon you?" Yes, you did actually. "Well, normally we would have, but this here is different. This here is about ELVES. And Sandy Claws. BUT MOSTLY ELVES!" He looks at you all squint-eyed for a moment before nodding to himself.

"We went ahead so we could put up a barrier of sorts, help you snots out a bit once you get inside. Things'll be a bit different things time around." With those less than useful but slightly reassuring words, he opens the door and you walk into The Workshop. Five doors stand in front of you. Each a different color. "Each path leads to the goal, so just pick one and get going!"

You go through the yellow one.

Quote:

The OOC: This zone is only for those who pick the YELLOW door. There's no set time for crossing this area, the final goal will have to be unlocked instead! Thanks to the gnome's barrier, the battles rules have changed! Be sure to read the post below!

BATTLE INFO

This will be a GROUP BATTLE. When the area boss attacks, it will affect everyone who has posted in the thread before that attack post. TENTS WILL NOT WORK IN THIS AREA. If you have entered the area at all, your student will be getting attacked along with everyone else! The battle will consist of rounds. Each round begins with the boss's attack. You may each attack once per round.

KO
- due to the barrier, a KO will not zone you back to the Infirmary! You'll just be passed out on the battlefield!
- after 24 hours, your character will be able to "revive" with 15 HP.

Regular Attacks

- are unlimited as long as your character isn't KO'd
- are a simple melee attack (punch or kick or ankle biting or w/e)

to use:
- roll 2 6-sided
- subtract 6 from your total
- the final amount is your damage (getting a negative number with a regular attack will not decrease your HP)

JOY Weapons

- Due to the concentrated power of the workshop JOY weapons ARE NOW USABLE MULTIPLE TIMES IN BATTLE. The exception being the Tangled Lights! Those are destroyed completely after one use and will not be usable again! Also: the roll for Carol of the Bells has been changed!

Christmas Wreath -> A circle of green complete with lights. Throw onto the enemy. There's a lingering smell of burnt plastic in the air...
Roll 2 6-sided dice. If the first roll is even, you hit. If is odd, you miss. The second roll determines how much damage you did if you hit.
Examples

A Hit

Hitmon rolled 2 6-sided dice: 6, 2 Total: 8 (2-12)
6 is an even number, so it hit! Sadly it did only 2 damage.

A Miss

Hitmon rolled 2 6-sided dice: 5, 2 Total: 8 (2-12)
5 is an odd number, so it didn't hit. Disregard the 2, it does nothing.

EXTREME SNOWBALL LAUNCHER 5000
Roll two 8-sided dice. The first dice is the amount of damage you deal to your opponent. The second dice is the unfortunate backlash done to you.
Example

A Hit

Hitmon rolled 2 8-sided dice: 3, 6 Total: 9 (2-16)
Damage done to opponent: 3
Damage done to self: 6
This weapon never misses. It will ALWAYS hit your opponent AND yourself.

A Sack Full of Joy
Reach in and start bombarding your opponent with random trinkets. Roll 3 6-sided dice. Damage done is the AVERAGE of the numbers rolled. If the total is EVEN, you hit. If the total is ODD, you miss.
Examples

A Hit

Hitmon rolled 3 6-sided dice: 4, 2, 1 Total: 7 (3-18 )
4+2+1 = 7
7 divided by 3 is 2.3. Round to the nearest number and it's 2.
Because 2 is an even number, it resulted in a hit for 2 damage.

A Miss

Hitmon rolled 3 6-sided dice: 3, 3, 4 Total: 10 (3-18 )
3+3+4 = 10
10 divided by 3 is 3.3. Round to the nearest number and it's 3.
Because 3 is an odd number, it resulted in a miss.

Yellow Snow
Do not eat.
Example

---SUPPORT---
Tangled Christmas Lights
Chuck the ball of tangled lights at your opponent. Roll 1 6-sided dice. If odd you missed. If even, your opponent can't move for one turn.

Examples

A Hit

Hitmon rolled 1 6-sided dice: 4 Total: 3 (1-6)
4 is an even number, so it hit! Your opponent cannot move for one turn.
Except by the time your opponent frees themselves, the lights are too smashed to use again.

A Miss

Hitmon rolled 1 6-sided dice: 5 Total: 5 (1-6)
5 is an odd number, so it didn't missed. Your lights bounce and roll off to one side before a group of forest critters run up and steal the lights to decorate their own Christmas tree with.

Carol of the Bells
It's a bell. Ring it and restore someone's HP by rolling 1 8-sided dice.
Example

Hitmon rolled 1 8-sided dice: 7 Total: 7 (1-8 )
Hitmon has healed somebody for 7 HP, either themselves or another person.

The bells cannot miss

Hazel rubbed a frezzing glove up to her even colder nose and tried to sniffle, but she was pretty sure her head was frozen completley through. Seeing the farmilar unfriendly faces of some gnomes it was a much needed motivation. Going for the most obbnoxious door, if she was going to do this she was going to do it right. The bright yellow door opened to a small path that she figured she'd follow.
PostPosted: Wed Dec 22, 2010 10:04 pm
With a dull thud the yellow door swung open again revealing Sammy at its threshold. Unsure what she would find she marched into the room with Nuk and Shehk in tow, carefully she slid the strands of tangled lights into her hand readying them for whatever may be waiting inside.

"This is it... the big finish..."

Nuk's entrance was a lot less dramatic, his quadrupedal bear-wolf form entering slowly, the sound of snow crunching beneath his paws vanishing as soon as he stepped inside. It was warmer in here -- to be expected, with the fire roaring in the corner -- although he didn't dare shake off the snow that dusted his fur, less than worried about the water that would surely replace it in moments and more so on being alert. They were at the heart of the beast, their goal of this long and hazardous trip, and there was no doubt that Sandy Claws would not give up his treasure without a fight. They had to be on high alert, and the skinwalker surely was. Every muscle in his body was tense, his ears swiveling a little as he listened for any sound, ready for the fight to come. Scanning the room, he took half a second to glance back at his companions before he took a few more cautious-but-confident steps into the room, starting to scope it out.

Shehk stepped inside the building, noting it's lack of snow with a slight face as she shook out her coat. She wasn't sure how she felt about...well...... she just wasn't feeling too great about how quiet it was in here..or that the gnomes had been doing anything to help them out. Anything involving the gnomes was supicious.

The Pricolici stepped closer to Nukpana to huddle against his side, rubbing her head against the side of his neck and making an anxious sounding noise. Oh, the skinwalker must have just been so happy that Shehk at least had an instinct to let him be her protector rather than anybody else. Either that or it was a canine instinct to stay with the pack.

She wasn't exactly the most amazing Alpha in the world, even if she would have had the Alpha-instincts for something like food-hording. Maybe she was just greedy. That was an option too.....

Either way, however, there was a disturbing lack of movement behind the door. Shehk wasn't sure what to make of it.

There was a quiet stillness in the air as the students entered the workshop behind the yellow door. Wooden walls, wooden floors... It didn't look like any place special. Various tables had been tipped over and onto their sides to serve as gnomish makeshift barriers against something that lurked on the other side of the room. In addition, the floor is littered with debris. It is easy to kick aside the obnoxious red and green joyful elf-tools aside, but the heavier half-finished toys are much too heavy for a light kick. Did someone drop a bag of marbles over there? Either way, watch your step.

By that way, is it just my imagination or is that fire roaring in the corner over there getting bigger? And hotter? Any who look to the southeast corner would notice that the once complacient stove providing cheery warmth was now a raging inferno, complete with a gnome running away with a triumphant look on its face. Uh-oh. At least the smoke is being pulled away from the room and channeled out by means of a fan.

Suddenly, the sharp hiss of pistons flexing pierces the air, followed by the rumbling hum of an engine firing up. A sharp, brittle cackle of sparks errupt from a high place on the wall, showering the frontmost barriers with its stinging lights. From the shadows comes a high-pitched giggle.

"Teeheehee! Oh my! SOOOOME~body's been NAAAAU~GHTY
this season, haven't they? Heeheehee! Never fear!"

It is then that the lights turn on with a thunderous crash, two at a time from the door towards the back of the workshop, revealing...

Holy ******** godjack-damn-s**t!

The second the floor rumbled and stuff started to move, Shehk practically jumped into Nukpana. Had they both had arms and thumbs, she might have lept right into his arms in the initial panic that set in from the movement of the..the....

What is that?

She looked to Nukpana, ears flattening back in confusion and all of the horrible noise that was being spewed, barking at the offender be-

AHH!! FEET. GROUND.

FEET TO GROUND.

WANT FEET ON GROOOOUUUNNNDDDD!!!

Shehk let out a very puzzled noise when she was sent flying, skidding in a very ungraceful landing against the ground. The Pricolici had to shake out her body when she got up, ears flattening back again as she started to bark more insistantly, looking about at what they had to work with and frowning.

Dog-frowning. LOOKING AS THOUGH SHE DISAPPROVED.

Ultimately, Shehk grabbed anything she could throw, leaping behind one of the makeshift barriers and tossing her throwing-item to the best of her canine abilities over it.

Hiiiiyyyaahhh!

For a good long while, there was nothing. The air was perfectly still with the exception of the crackle of the fire in the corner, the light against abandoned toys and tables casting eerie shadows across the wooden floor. The flame flickering a little, but otherwise the room was devoid of motion with the exception of the trio, the place deserted. Nukpana tilted his head just slightly, suspicious yet utterly bewildered. The gnomes had said they had set up the parameter for them, and yet there was nothing here. Why would they have sent them into the workshop if they had already killed or taken hostage whatever was inside? It didn't make any sense. The skinwalker let his eyes drift across the area again, extra-alert, but not a creature was stirring, not even a zombiesquirrel. Turning his head to glance at the others, he shrugged his huge wolfish shoulders, starting back towards them.

The wooden floor shook as the huge robot started towards them, and Nuk spun almost comically fast to face it, teeth bared for whatever had done it. When his completely-black eyes settled on the robot, the skinwalker visibly balked, his entire form completely unmoving for a good few minutes.

What. The. Jacking. s**t.

This was no reindeer or stuffed toy. This was the real s**t. If Nuk had been in his more human-like form, he would have been cursing up a stream, spouting obscenities like bullets, as if that would take down the war machine. SERIOUSLY?! This is what Hellma had put them up against?! This was minotaurshit! They were first years! Not that Nuk couldn't handle it, but Shehk and Sammy were here! Gnashing his sharp canine teeth in anger, he snarled at the thought, not quite leaping out of the way fast enough as the enemy rained a blow upon them. One metallic fist landed hard on his back, the bear-wolf creature snarling in pain in return, twisting his neck around to bit down hard on the metal instinctively, releasing it quickly as he kicked off the wooden floor in an attempt to escape.

They were in trouble. There was no way anything he could do in this form would be effective, teeth and claws useless against the thick metal plating. Once again Nuk cursed mentally, skidding to a halt against one of the walls, spinning around to glare at the robot again. Of course, it was foolish to think this had been the JOYous creatures' plan all along, to keep him in a useless form -- they couldn't possibly know how it would affect him -- but he found himself feeling that same rage he felt at the stuffed elephant.

No one controlled him.

Shutting his eyes tight, the skinwalker gritted his teeth, sharp claws digging into the soft wood as he willed his body to change, shaking with the effort. He'd never had to force himself to change, nor had it ever been painful for him to do so, and he'd taken it for granted. The sound of bones crunching and popping filled the air where the sound of metal did not, and the sound of muffled growls of pain could be heard if one stood close enough, Nuk's teeth clenched tightly together.

(I know it said that it was the wood table that hit them, but I wanted to get his attack in without having to write another paragraph, so... possibly pretend he was right by that table and got hit by one of the fists? ;;; SRY)

Something didn't seem right, the room was empty, minus flipped tables and half finished toys. Before she could even comment on how odd and weird the room was something came to life in the back.

And it sure as hell wasn't frosty the over rated and easily melted snowman.

No instead a giant mech seemed to rise up from the darkness and march its way towards the group. Without much warning the device crushed a barrier, sending rubble everywhere easily knocking Sammy flat on her back. "Jack-dammit!" She grunted before scrambling to another barrier. Once she was hunched down she started to rummage through the JOY junk laying around the room. Maybe they could find more JOY weapons in here? As she worked through the junk she would randomly grab and toss pieces at random, though they all bounced harmlessly off the robots hard shell.

"Jack-dammit why did we agree to do Hellma's dirty work!? Field trip my a**!"

Israfel arrived into the area and blue eyes widened in horror. What was that thing? It was just...ugly. No taste for fashion. A yellow jumpsuit really? Shockingly, he realized what was going on. It was a battle. And as he realized this, flashbacks of the other bathroom came back to haunt him. A scream of fear broke from his mouth as the siren saw his fellow students scattered. It was other bathroom 2.0 So, in typical manner, the siren began to flail about hoping to do something.

Sweet Jack almighty! Another student had ran into the room to aid them, though when she finally caught site of who it was she had mixed feelings. She had nothing against Israfel, really, but wasn't he the one drunk earlier fighting a pink elephant? He seemed sober right now, but, no he was not all together it seemed.

"GET DOWN! Find some cover before that stupid thing crushes you!" she shouted from the 'safety' (we use that term lightly) of her wood barricade table.

'This is it.' Hazel thought feeling the sweat creep across her brow. Her legs felt like they were on fire, because of the thermal shock of being so cold to burning up….Then again being this tense didn’t help at all. She had a few fellow comrades and lucky so because some yellow freak was attacking now.

Nothing mattered now, nothing except kicking some Christmas Town arse. She still had two pills, so let’s get this thing done. >3
She landed on the ground a bit scratched up, but nothing she couldn’t handle…well she was feeling worn…One more attack then she could pop a pill. She ran up to the beast and kicked it in the knee….Damage has to start somewhere.
