The year is 1810, a chaotic time when vampires had taken over. Though the humans resisted valiantly, they were overwhelmed by their stronger foes.
Ten years later, a group known simply as the Vampire Hunters secretly took out any vampires they were to cross paths with. If you were born into a family where there is a Vampire Hunter, your entire family bears the title. The Hunters were regarded a great heroes who risked their lives to save the humans and vanquish the evil.
For a time, the vampires went into hiding, but a sudden uprising plunged both into a great and terrible war with one another. The time during the war was frightening, innocent lives on both sides were taken mercilessly.
Finally, the fighting died down and the Vampire Hunters all but disbanded. They still work in secret, however, and any that are found out are stripped of what protection they have and left tied up for the vampires to take....

Bio: His father was a famous vampire hunter who died a year before Desmond was given the new role as family vampire hunter. He was raised in the slums and was gifted with great vision, hearing and thinking power. He began to learn the 'art' of vampire slaying at age eight and was ready at age 16, he trained as he might but never understood why they were at war, futile as it was to find out he let his father do the killing but inflicted most of the injuries. Henwas given a kit of vampiric 'killing' weapons such as holy water, a wooden stake, wooden pellets, silver bb rounds, garlic and a stone that simulated sunlight if held up in the air. He was given his father's rifle modified to fire wooden/steel rounds it was primarily used to kill vampires. He was an excellent marksman however he lacked thenclose ranged fighting skills making his approach much stealthier than his father's. His father died a year ago and as revenge he finally began killing the vampires he aimed for.
Appearance: Light-Brown hair, Pale skin, Bluegrey eyes, 6'1" tall, 175 lbs, normally wears leather coats without a hood, denim pants, leather boots, fingerless gloves, A black scarf that covers his mouth and nose and a black leather strap over his chest to carry his equipment and whatnot.
Other: Desmond is left handed, he is empathetic and quiet unless talking to people whom he trusts. He let one vampire live in the time his father died, he wasn't sure what compelled him to do it but he vastly searches for her, even thus far he is left without a trace of her.

Username: v v starlight lunaria v v Character Name: Sola (no last name cuz I can't think of one lol) Age: hidden Sex: female Vampire or Human: vampire Bio: Born a vampire, Sola's family knew she was different when the sunlight did not kill her. They hated her for this ability and forced her out of the family. She's spent her entire life fending for herself and has somehow managed to escape death many times. Appearance:  (not sure if that's good enough for the time period..) Other: She's a rare type of vampire known as a Daywalker. Silver paralyzes her temporarily, if a large amount of it is used against her it will kill her. Wooden stakes and 'holy water' have no affect on her, as they are merely a folk's legend.

One year ago:
Sola runs down the beaten forest path as the snow falls lightly about her. She pays no attention to it and occasionally looks behind her. Fear is in her eyes, though she should not have much to fear. Vampires are hunters of the night, they live to feed off of unsuspecting humans. However, this vampire has not been able to feed in a couple days due to being on the run. The vampire hunters had found her alone and attempting to hide and they had dragged her out by force when she refused to move. Now she is on the run from one of them, frightened into running inhumanly fast.

Desmond ran, the forest floor was blanketed by snow but he had no time to admire it. He ran because he was heading for the kill, he was chasing down a vampire whom kept hidden for months in his very town; without stopping he ran, he was the fastest hunter in the group due to being fit and being the youngest at 16. He sprinted past the splinters of wood and formations of snow on the ground, he traced the footprints and kept running, it was tiring but he had to, he had to bring honor back to his family name. His father had died recently and he had to 'avenge' his death. Panting now he still ran, he saw the vampire in the distance; she looked barely 20 and gracefully running ahead while he struggled. He gritted his teeth and continued running.

Just as Sola believes that things are bad enough, she finds herself at a dead-end. A ten-foot wall of stone blocks her path. It looks as though it stretches for miles on both sides so it would be hopeless to attempt to run around it. She closes her eyes and waits, the sound of her pursuer's pounding feet drawing closer by the second. To her, it seems like an eternity of waiting for death to fall.

Desmond saw her slump by the wall and apparently give up all life and hope, he skid down the hill planting his feet and stopped about three meters from the girl. He had the rifle at her head and his mind began racing in different directions. One part of him told him to take the shot, the second told him to let her go, the third was fearful and the fourth was overconfident. His arms began shaking not from the cold bit from the thought of ending a life of the girl, she didn't even look like a vampire. Bur he had to believe the chapel's words. He slowed his breathing, scared and tired he opened his mouth and let words escape.
"You there, what brings you to this town?"
He asked with a colder tone, his mind still said shoot but he held back and wanted to gather information. He primed the striking pin on his rifle and asked again.
"How could someone as innocent as you wind up here?"

Sola turns her head and faces him. The only thing that shows she is a vampire is the slight red tinge in her eyes that tells of hunger.
"I had nowhere to go..that home was abandoned so I took shelter in the hopes no longer being bothered.." She replies, her tone quiet. She holds one hand toward him, as though to grab him. It is clear that she is trembling. But it is not from cold or fear, it is from hunger and weakness.
"Please...I need..." She stares at his neck, her hunger growing. Her mind tells her to lunge and bite deep, but she holds back and just stares helplessly at him.

Desmond was stunned, she was more helpless than an infant left in the rain. He closed his eyes and his arms trembled even more, he was only a teenager. He looked at her arm and where here glittering red eyes stared to, she needed blood or she would die. He was a killer, but not this mericless. He would rather kill himself than kill a helpless child, in this case a vampire.
"You need... My blood?"
He asked, his tone was gentler but still bold enough. He lowered the rifle not of fear but as a sacrifice, he untied his scarf and set it on the snowy floor.
"We need to fake your death then. After you are done, slather some of my blood on your chest, I will fire the rifle and they will come."
He gulped in air and held his arms out wide, insane? No but he wasn't a savage like the rest of his kind was towards them, they are people too. He closed his eyes and waited for her to come closer.

Sola approaches slowly, not wanting her hunger to overtake her.
"Thank you.." She says in his ear, wrapping her arms about him and then sinking her fangs into his neck. She drinks, not terribly deep for fear of making him lose consciousness or killing him. When she's had enough to be able to go on for a while longer, she cautiously pulls away. She wipes her mouth and uses that blood to slather it onto her chest, then waits.
"I will not forget this kindness you have shown me." She says.

Desmond cringed his jaw at the pain her fangs brought him, hendidn't know how long she had fed on him but when she wrapped her arms around him his fate was her decision. He felt her withdraw and he knew he made the right choice, he was dizzy and tired but had enough energy to lift the rifle and fire it into the air blindly, ad he did birds flew off in multiple directions and he himself fell to the ground and sat upright, loss of blood always made people dizzy, but he never experienced it. He pointed for her to lean against the wall and play dead while the others came. Desmond grinned at her and before she was too far away to whisper he spoke.
"What is your name?"
In hopes to see eachother again he had asked a vampire for her name, was he insane or possessed? He never believed in the church babble but he respected it. He heard the rest of the hunters rounding the corner, after she spoke he smiled.
"I'm Desmond."
As the hunters came and rejoiced they just assumed he was tired from running. He was patted on the back many times which HURT but he sucked it up and held a grin.

Sola manages to whisper her name to him before the other hunters came.
"My name is Sola." She says before slumping against the wall and playing dead...
((Time skip to the present now! ^ . ^))
Sola awakens from a deep sleep, having managed to catch a meal just the other day. She looks around her and notices the dim light that is entering the room. She had taken refuge inside a small and abandoned house. Something she does often. She gets up and stretches. She had been dreaming, of that day a year ago, when she had crossed paths with a hunter whom was much unlike the others. The memory had stayed with her, just as she had told him it would. She steps outside, welcoming the light's warm caress against her slightly paled skin, and wonders if he still remembers her as well.

Present Day
Desmond was hunting with the others, at seventeen he was a skilled marksman and hunter, his impresions on vampires had changed due to a fateful day when he crossed paths with a vampire he decided to save... S...o...l...a? It was a blur as human memory was among the worst but he kept a visual of her, he finished up and walked back home along the trail. Rain was pouring but instead o taking cover he embraced it, rain was like candy to him and he couldn't live without it. Still the echoing thoughts of that vampire... Sola, as he recalled. He grinned and walked by an oldern nabourhood without the awareness that he wasn't alone. He strolled down the long path and found himself looking at five other vampires, out numbered and out armed he was pushed into a corner and would be food for a week. He screamed out knowing no hunters could be nearby, but he needed help.
