Laura Welsh is a pretty, book-loving girl. But what she loves more then books? Dogs. Preferably huskies. In Alaska, where she lives, it's always snowy, and perfect for her dogs. She has a great sled team, and has even won a few trophies and medals.
A boy who has just moved to Alaska sees her as she crosses the finish line of a race, and finds her interesting. Will they be friends? Enemies? Or something....more?

Bio: Laura's father was a great dog musher, and he taught Laura how to mush. Her mom had died when she was little, but her dad always said Laura looked just like her. Laura moved out and bought her own sled team, and lives in a cabin with them in with her. It's crowded, but she doesn't mind. She's followed in her father's footsteps, and has already won a few medals and trophies.

(Damn you ish on a role ._. But I ish not complaining. LET'S GET THIS BUTT ON THEROAD-wait, WHAT did I just say?!)
"Welsh and Snipper are neck and neck in this race!" said the announcer, who was watching the race from a studio with cameras watching the competors. "But Welsh is taking the lead....They're approaching the finish line...."
Snipper glared at Laura, and Laura glared back. She returned her attention to ahead of her. They were so close......Her lead dog, Miku, crossed the finish line. Sasha and Jake, Sheila and Shane, Amanda and Kaji and Kania and Dana followed close behind. The crowd broke into applause.

Caelen stared at the girl crossing the finish line. Laura, he thought, her name is Laura. He cheered with the rest of the crowd, but was unable to take her eyes off of her.

Laura stepped off the sled and ran to the front of the dogs, to Miku. "We did it girl!" she said, giving the dog a big hug. She gave all her dogs a large hug, and they returned it with a big lick. She took the trophie from the man giving it to her and raised it into the air, smiling widely.

Cael studied her with care. She seemed nice, and obviously loved her dogs. She was proud to have one. Cael decided he would like to meet her.

After about a half hour of unwillingly being crowded around by people, Laura escaped by jumping onto her sled and riding off. As much as she liked winning, she didn't understand how her dad could stand all the popularity that came with it. Cold Alaskan wind blew in her face, but she was used to it; she loved it.

Cael watched her go. He kind of wished he could follow, but hed never met her, and that would be creepy, and stalkerish to follow her. He sighed and walked away from the crowd. He let his mind wander as he walked, so he had really no clue about were he was going.

Laura stopped the sled when they reached her house; a sturdy, comfortable log cabin. She drove it into the barn and got off, then unharnessed all of her dogs. They shook snow out of their furr.

Kania was running around, extremely hyper. She sprinted out the barn door. "HEY! KANIA! COME BACK HERE!" yelled Laura, running after her. All the other dogs layed down, panting.

Cael was startled out of his own little world by the sound of a dog barking. He looked around for the source, and saw a dog racing across toward his own home.

Kania reached his house and started circling the house, still running at full speed. Laura walked over, panting heavily. She put her hands on her knees to support herself, gasping for breath. She swallowed. "Ugh.....K...Kania....Get back...here...."
