When the world was young the Moon loved the Sun....
Unfortunately, the Sun was arrogant and loved more own light. The moon followed her love around the world reflecting it so that one day he might love her just as much. Eventually he realized how beautiful the moon really was. He and the lovely moon met in secret far from the other gods in the very first forest that they had created together.
Soon the Sun’s love for the moon budded and bloomed. When he realized the warmth of the love that they had was taking over, it started to terrify him. He believed if he continued to the relationship that it would make him weak and vulnerable to the other gods. So he buried his heart in the forest they had created and became cold and distance towards his love. The moon cried creating the stars that sparkle high in the night sky. Some of her tears even fell to the forest bringing it new life. She still followed the sun, reflecting his own light in hopes that one day he will return to her. With the heart buried in its soil and the moon’s tears, the forest thrived. It became the largest ancient and treacherous haven for demons and their ilk.
It is said that deep in the forest under the oldest tree is where the Sun's heart still lives, and beats for the moon. It processes enough power to make one a divine being and it is worth an endless amount of gold.
Many brave adventures and demons have lost their lives trying to become gods themselves…and none today have succeeded.

 Setting
Stretching across the west coast and into the land, there is the forest. It is the first forest put down by the gods. The trees there are so wide not even the long forgotten giants could wrap their arms around them, and so tall that the canopy has never been seen by a mortal being. The skyward reaching branches blot out most of the sun's light and deep one goes the darker it gets until there is no way to be certain whether it is night, or day. This forest has long been a haven to demons and there are rumors that the even the plant life there is more "lively" than is normal. The forest is a green place where one is can easily lose their bearing but it still consumes many lives of those seeking a power. For those who eke out a living in this dense, lush, yet unforgiving place it is a great provider. Along the outer edges small settlements and towns exist and there are even a few farther in. At the heart of the forest there is a source, this source empowers the forest and it's dwellers, but what if one were to take this source for themselves?

Era Aerialis To say the least she was exhausted, tired beyond belief. Her whole body ached and her stomach growled as hunger ate away at her last bit of energy she had. The young elven woman couldn't remember the last time she had a good night sleep as well as a decent meal. Running around in the forest of the sun's heart, fighting off demons, and running from demons left her drained. She hadn't had a chance to even hunt for herself yet. Era laid on the warm sands of a bank that belonged to a river that ran through the forest, resting. She was trying to gain back some energy before she could move on.
I can't keep doing this...I'll kill myself. I need to eat something..she thought as she slowly sat up. She ran her hand through her long tangled hair and let out a soft sigh. Eventually they will get me if I stay here...but I have to find that heart..It might be able to help me. Her deep green eyes looked out at the water scanning for any movement. She then saw a fish jump out of the water and land back in safely with a quiet splash. "Food." she said in her common tongue with an odd accent.
She crawled over to the waters edge and stared down at her own reflection for a few moments. She then cupped her hands and filled it with the clear water then brought it to her mouth to drink. She dropped her hand to her lap and laid back on the bank. "Just little sleep" she mumbled and closed her eyes.

Vernek The Spirit Talker Forest landscape, evening... A single man starts walking through the woods by himself, so far left untouched by the numerous denizens of the forest... Or so it would appear. While most people wouldn't really believe that he was not actually alone, but rather having a hefty entourage, animals know they're nearby, and Demons certainly know that he doesn't walk by himself. He looks around, then finds a river. Vernek's head swivels over to his left shoulder, looking down.
"Well, looks like we've found your domain, huh?" He seemed to be talking to himself, though he nodded slowly as if he got a response. "Well, might as well head down there. Never know what we'll find." Vernek began walking over with confidence, the tails of his white shirt fluttering behind him in a gentle breeze... Vernek thought he heard something else, though it wouldn't come from his invisible entourage. He shushed them, thinking he heard the word "Food" coming from somewhere, but wasn't sure where it was... He then heard something else. He wasn't sure what it was, but it seemed to be in the same voice and came from the river. He then looked back down at the "Companion" he was addressing earlier.
"I'm going to head down to the river and check things out..." He looked behind him. "You guys keep an eye out, alright?" He then smiled as though he got a reply... Any outsider would look at him and figure he was talking to himself. Crazy b*****d. He made his way toward the river banks, rubbing his hand against his hair as he looked up and down the stream, wondering what he should do...

Era Aerialis Era had started to doze off on the warm sands of the bank when her large ears picked up the sound of footsteps walking towards her location. The hair stood up on the back of her neck and feeling of dread shook her awake Her eyes snapped open and she rolled over on to her stomach then pushed herself off of the ground on to her feet. Era slipped off into the bush crouching low to the ground letting the leaves and grass hide her. Her deep green eyes peered out at the bank watching for whatever that was coming toward her spot.
Soon she saw what appeared to be a male human. Her eyes narrowed as he watched him closely. What is a human doing this deep in the forest? she wondered. She tilted her head to the side and rubbed her eyes. For a moment she though she saw tails but they were only the ends of his coat. She let out a soft sigh and quietly laid on the grass. Go away...the sand was warm and I was starting to get in a good nap. She thought with a frown. Her stomach growled loudly and she placed her hand over it to hush to noise.

Vernek The Spirit Talker Vernek didn't seem to notice the Elven woman yet, sitting by the bank and looking down to his right, addressing another of his invisible entourage.
"Hey there. I'm getting a bit hungry, mind if you let me have some of..." He pointed to the river, indicating the fish. He then frowned as he got a reply, then smiled nervously. "Well... I guess you have a point there. If I can't catch 'em, it isn't worth my eating them." He pulled out what looked like some string, then suddenly stopped. His face screwed into an expression of being scorned... "Well, what SHOULD I do? If catching 'em with a rod is cruel, what do I-" He then got his response, letting out a sigh. "You guys always have me doing the weirdest things for food..."
He started walking around the area, looking for something... He then found a large stick that looked like a limb that fell off a tree. He started pulling off small shoots of the branch.... After a few moments, it becomes apparent as the edge of the stick becomes pointed like a spear. He then slowly walked into the water, standing silently for several moments, until he jut the stick into the water. After that try, he held the makeshift spear down for a few moments, then bowed his head and muttered something. After he pulled the spear out, there was a fish holding perfectly still along its shaft, the pointed end going straight through the head, where the brain would've been. Heading back to shore, he stuck the stick in the ground and wandered around, trying to find more sticks, seemingly to make a fire.
"You really work me hard, Icthysal... People just don't find fish like that anymore, do they?" He snickered as he picked up spare wood from around the area...

Era Aerialis Era raised a brow as the man started to speak as if someone was there. It was common tongue, most she did pick up but she struggled putting together the language. It had been sometime since she last heard another speak. She blinked and squinted her eyes looking for anyone else around. when she found no one she blinked. What in the world was going on? Who was he talking to? So many questions popped up in her mind.
she watched him closely as he speared the fish in the river and her stomach growled once again. Era was almost tempted to step out to see if he could help her with fishing. It really was never her strong point. she shook her head as if to disagree with the though. As he started to look for wood he was getting closer to her hiding spot. She panic and started to move away but not as careful as she should have. The bush she bumped into some of the branches of the bush and it shook. Her eyes widened and she gripped on to the hilt of her hunting knife as she tried to move to a different spot.

Vernek The Spirit Talker Vernek found some wood and tossed it in a pile. He then stretched and let out a sigh. "Phew! That was a bit of a trip..." He then heard a rustling in the bushes... Now what could that be? He wasn't sure. Naturally, he turned to his entourage, speaking aloud. Man, anyone who saw him could swear the guy was crazy.
"Hm... Aero, notice anything over there?" He stood still, his eyes half-lidded and almost too content and calm about his surroundings. He then looked over to the bush and tilted his head... After he got what appeared to be a very lengthy response, Vernek snickered to himself. "Aero, if you don't know, it's not the Wind. Heheheh... 'Might just be the wind...' Seriously, though, go check it out." After he said so, the wind howled a bit and blew over at the bush, and then blew back to Vernek. Once it slowed down, Vernek raised an eyebrow.
"What's in there?" He leaned to his right and held his hand to his ear, as though someone were whispering to him. "Oooh, you don't say..." He smiled brightly and raised his hand to the air and waved back and forth. "HI THERE!!!"

Era Aerialis When Era heard the man continue talking she thought she was going to slip away in the forest with out being noticed by the human male. Then she heard him call out to her and it made her whole body freeze. She frowned and silently debated on what to do. I could run..she thought but then shook her head. If she did she would probably run out of energy and then be eaten by a demon.
She stood up from her spot so that she could be seen by him. What was the point of hiding anymore. She was too tired and too hungry. If he wanted to harm her he could try. She would fight him if she had to. Era scanned around looking for the people he seems to be talking to but there was no one there. A look of confusion appeared on her features. Where were these people at? She shook her head and let out a soft sigh. She then replied the the human in a quiet voice. "H..Hello.." Her elven accent was heavy but added a soft touch to her words.

 Vernek The Spirit Talker
Vernek approached Era, his head tilted in a childlike curiosity. As he got closer and closer, he started looking down at her... He seemed to mean no harm. He knelt down and looked her in the eyes and asked her in a very innocent, almost wispy voice, something that could be characteristic of someone in a continually dreamy or sleepy state.
"What're you hiding from...?" He looked over his shoulder to see if there was something behind him, then above her to see if anything was behind her. "I don't think the fishes are going to do much to you..."
There was one thing that came to mind looking at him... He could just be a harmless lunatic. That was getting harder to believe, as he turned to looking up at his right shoulder and addressed one of the members of his invisible entourage. "Demons...? Huh? I haven't seen any..." He then looked at her. He smiled lightly and held out his hand to be shaken.
"I'm Vernek. I'm a Shaman." He smiled as he offered his hand and seemed to be making himself as vulnerable and polite as possible... It seems he's used to being this polite at all times.

Rendus Bard and Storyteller
Rendus dashed magnificently across the serene forest; he'd known this forest since he was little but of course nature had its own way of concealing many secrets. He laughed to himself as he ran, jumping and skipping from one bush to the next. He had always been this active. Most of the time, his father, Aldus, would scold him for running and skipping all around the forests they visit due to his overwhelming vigor. He couldn't blame him though - Rendus had always been active ever since he was a child. He laughed once again as he reached a small stream. After sniffing the water as a form of precaution he learned from his father, he drank the crystal-clear waters of the brook and then replenished his wasted strength.
"That's magnificent!" He exclaimed in joy. Suddenly, he heard a snapping sound from a distance. At once, and instinctively, he pulled his bow and arrow and pointed at the origin of the sound. He gulped for air and then heightened his senses - someone or something must be close by. So, he trudged on forward, hoping to see the newest company he sensed.
Slowly, he moved on to see. He moved from one bush to the next without dropping his bow - a weapon he received from his father when he left their home. Suddenly, the figure of a stag appeared several meters away from Rendus, which was the origin of his surprise. He giggled to himself as he watched the cautious animal move from one place to the next, unintentionally snapping twigs and barks along the way. Rendus then felt hungry and decided it was time for some hunting.
He aimed his bow at the creature and then smiled. "I got you now." He said softly. With a short twang of the bow, the arrow soared sinisterly at the creature. Due to the aimer's superior accuracy, the arrow struck the heart area of the stag perfectly. "Great!" He exclaimed in joy and immediately dashed at his latest hunt. The animal fell at once and fast. Rendus then picked it up and then decided to set up a camp at the same area at the moment since there was a water source (the brook from earlier) around.
He enjoyed his food at the time being. Although, from time to time, he thought he heard some footsteps though he was not sure about it. The steps seemed light and came from a woman but he was not sure if it was just his imagination.

Luciel "Yasei" BleakwoodThe forest was calm, serene and quiet. The sun's rays could not penetrate the thick canopy above. The air was crisp, clean, free of the miasma of undesirable scents and sights of the cities the rest of the world shared. The Shifter would only make her home in such a place..
The large Panther lay across a thick tree branch lazily. The shadows concealed most of her form, save for her brilliant eyes. They had a gold color, but a soft green in their hues. As lights hit them--as most feline eyes would do-- a glow was emitted from her pupils. Her ears swiveled atop her head as it lay upon her large paws: water was nearby. She'd known this, yet only paid attention now that she felt a desire for the material. The large feline sat up upon the branch, and leapt down onto the soft soil below.
The cat continued in soft silence, not so much as breaking a twig, until the scent of blood hit her. It was not anything unusual here, there were beasts that fed upon the wild stag, beasts like herself. She continued in the direction non-chalantly, though she hoped the beast would not be protective enough to drive her from the waters.
The trees cleared, but the grassy cover did not. She drew her belly lower to the ground, her ears slowly folding gently behind her, as if a sign of caution. Her head drew a mere inch up above the grass, her eyes as if a falcon's hunting for prey. Her eyes stopped at a tent. So, it was not a beast after all.. Something more than that. Her teeth bore themselves in irritation for a second, before she drew back into the grasses.
With this, she snuck with even more caution to the bubbling brook. She lowered her maw to it, and began to drink. Her eyes never left the tent, as if she was ready to run, or to fight. It depended solely on the being inside of it..

Rendus Bard and Storyteller
Rendus had fallen asleep earlier that day. When he opened his eyes, he saw that his roasted stag was cooked into perfection. He yawned once before standing up and then picking the food from the fire and then laying it at a nearby flat rock. Then, he drew out his small knife, which was given to him by his mother, and then cut the meat into smaller strips for his convenience. After this, he decided to arrange the sliced meat in an orderly manner in one of his small cases for his future travels. Yawning again, he decided it was now time to move on along the forest to get to know more places.
He went to the nearby brook and then saw it at once. He was only able to gasp in shock as he saw the sinister-looking animal drinking at the cool, crystal-clear waters. Instinctively, he pulled out his bow and then aimed at the animal, thinking that it was better to strike the enemy while it was off-guard. "Begone!" Rendus exclaimed in panic, his pulse beating furiously. He fired the arrow and then soared swiftly at the animal.
Suddenly, he thought of the animal's welfare. Somehow, he thought that the animal might have just been drinking. Drinking and yet caused its death. So innocent. He was only able to cry out a little, perhaps to surpise the animal into hiding, as the arrow soared perfectly towards the animal's neck. The bow strangely sparked for a moment of green color, which Rendus did not notice at once due to his latest action.

Luciel "Yasei" BleakwoodThe cat's maw dipped shallow into the waters, her eyes staring at the tent. She gulped the cold, crisp water swiftly, as if in a rush to get out of this place. She knew outsiders were never food. They came in and slaughtered the wildlife aimlessly, without purpose. Then, they'd leave like there was no effect to be had by their actions.
The man came out, and her eyes hardened upon his bodice, as if she'd found her prey. He turned to see her as well. However, their reactions were totally different. As she merely stared, he drew his bow. She raised her head, as if to stare in disgust. he was indeed that type out outsider.
As the string reverberated,, and the arrow was released, the cat sought lower round. Leaping into the waters, she laid low in them, the waters splashing everywhere. The arrow whizzed above her head, cutting weakly into it. After it landed in the soil of the bank behind her, she decided her action.
The cat grasped the arrow in her mouth, and padded towards his camp. Once only a few feet away, she snapped it within her jaws, and opened her mouth slightly, letting the arrow's halves fall to the earth. Her stare was odd for him, more than likely: it had sentience in it, intellect. He might feel as if he was looking at another being within the city. But her pupils, slitted and hardened upon his own eyes, bore a slight anger, as the blood dried atop her head.

Rendus Bard and Storyteller
Rendus froze in fear as soon as the animal proceeded with its retaliation to his rash behavior. The panther grasped the arrow, which soared narrowly from her head, and then snapped it in half with her strong jaws. The arrow splinters fell at the ground with dull thuds as the animal stared back at Rendus with an unreadable emotion. Was it angry? No. Staring deeper at the eyes of the animal, he felt some kind of other feeling. He shivered suddenly and then began to back away. It was dangerous to stay. So, with all his might, he dashed away from the animal though he did not know what to really react to it.
Being overwhelmed by panic and cowardice, he ran away from the animal but before firing a solitary arrow once again, aiming to send a message to the animal - don't follow. He gasped for more air as he ran. Meanwhile, the arrow flung in the air and then landed at the ground several feet from the animal. Suddenly, the weeds and grass around the arrow sparked and then began to grow in height and in color, as if it was the height of their bloom. After a moment or two, the plant life around the arrow bloomed flowers as it grew magically. Rendus, meanwhile, did not notice as he was now back in the camp and began to fix all his things. "What is with that animal?!" He exclaimed, being unusually filled with an unexplainable fear.
