Isolde was getting impatient; Kei hadn't made another move on Ask, and Ask hadn't asked Kei out. Isolde was convinced they just needed a little . . . push. So, after watching some soap operas and extracting a promise from Willow to call her cell phone, Isolde had a grand plan all in place. She even had night vision goggles packed in her bag, ready.
She met Kei and Ask at the front door of the Academy, and waited for Oliver to pull up in the limo. They were planning on going to see Night of the Reaver IV, and Ask was coming because Kei and Isolde were too scared to go alone. "Hi guys!" she chirruped, and looked at what Kei was wearing. He looked good - naturally, and she hoped Ask would notice. Then again, Ask was pretty hopeless about clothes.

Ask stood with Kei outside the front of the academy to await the arrival of her limo. He was dressed in an old beat up pair of jeans and a black and grey striped zip up hoodie with a dark green tshirt underneath with his old red chucks to complete the "outfit". Not that he'd put any thought whatsoever into what he was wearing. He'd just pulled on the first clean pair of clothes in his drawers.
Kei did look nice. Ask had to admit to that. But then again, Kei always looked nice. And so did Isolde, in a completely different way. If he hadn't been so distracted by the way Kei's shirt clung in all the right places yesterday he probably wouldn't have said yes to go see what was supposed to be the most horrendously scary movie of the year. Especially not with two scaredy cats who would probably be clinging to his arm the whoooole time.
He smiled in Isolde's direction when he saw her and waved. "Hey Isolde. You sure you're up for this movie?" He included Kei in his question.

Kei had been looking forward to and dreading this night all week. On one hand he couldn't wait to spend time with his best friends. On the other they were going to see a scary movie. He hadn't watched very many because Sun was easily scared and paranoid the kids would have nightmares forever about things like she did. Kei knew that scary movies made him super jumpy for the next week, and sometimes scream like a girl. It was really very embarrassing. It would be easiest not to see it of course, but EVERYONE was seeing it, and Kei just couldn't be left out of something EVERYONE was doing now could he? Luckily he wouldn't be alone. Isolde would be there, and better yet Ask. Ask would so never let anything happen to either of them.
Of course Kei had put care into his look. He'd picked out his favorite heels for the week and worked an outfit around them. It had taken him a long time to decide but finally he'd gone with a snug fitting red sweater with a lowish square neckline that showed off his collarbone and a pair of black jean material pants that, like his shirt, clung in all the right places. Kei wasn't quite sure why he always felt the need to dress his best in front of Ask. He'd always reasoned that it was to make up for Ask's lack of fashion sense.
For some reason Kei felt slighted that Ask had said hello to Isolde specifically and not him. He reasoned that he was being ridiculous and gave Ask and Isolde a smile. "Hey Ask." Then he sighed. "I mean...I guess so. I'm feeling kind of jittery already. Aren't you scared at all Ask?"

"That's why we're taking you, silly," Isolde replied. "Hey Kei! You look great." And Kei did look great. He almost always did. Then she looked back at Ask and sighed. Ask did not look great. He looked good, but not great. If only he would cooperate and let them get him clothes that fit the way they were supposed to.
Isolde also looked great; a dark grey skirt, cashmere sweater with a neckline similar to Kei's, tall boots and a brandy leather bag.* It was a shame she would have to change. But it was all for the good of the mission.
"Oliver should be here any minute guys! There will be plenty of time to grab a snack before the movie and all. What do you guys feel like doing?"
*Can you tell I'm making fashion stuff up?

Ask nodded to Kei with a little pleased wing flutter when he said hey. "No, not really, I don't think reavers are that scary. Um, are you sure you aren't going to be cold Kei?" Kei's outfit while looking fabul-, attracti-, beauti- NICE on him didn't look particularly warm, and knowing the theatre he hoped that Kei wouldn't be cold. "What kind of snacks should we get?

Kei couldn't help but grin as Isolde pointed out how good he looked. He even did a little bit of a pose. "You look great too Isolde! That's the new sweater you showed me the other day isn't it? I told you it would look divine with that bag." He gave her an approving nod of the head.
As Ask asked Kei about being cold, Kei gave a bit of a shrug. "Maybe... do you think it will be really cold? Maybe I should run back and get a coat..." He considered it but... that would cover up his awesome outfit.
"But either way we should pick up some popcorn and some twizzlers." Kei just had to enjoy twizzlers. They were so very red. "Maybe we should play some games in the arcade too. Or of course we could walk around the shops." He gave Ask a teasing look. "But Ask wouldn't want us to drag him shopping would he?" Kei gave him an almost wicked smile at the thought of dressing Ask up however he wanted. Kei knew he could make Ask look...well amazingly sexy. Kei just knew it was possible. He gave one more backward glance back towards his dorm as he wondered again about that coat.

Unfortunately(?) for Kei, just then Oliver pulled around in the Bentley and hopped out. "Hi Oliver!" Isolde went over to give the chauffeur a hug, and he opened the back door so the three teens could slide in- and Isolde slide in first so Kei and Ask would have to sit next to each other. This "plotting" thing really wasn't so hard. She just hoped Willow would remember to call her at the right time.
And sure enough, she did.
"Who could be calling now . . ." Isolde said as she dug through her bag when the theme from The Swan Princess started playing.
"Hello? Oh, yes. . . . No. . .That's tonight? I thought it was next week. . . .Oh, I didn't know . . . well, I had plans, but. . . . oh, yes, I'll be there. I wouldn't miss it for the world. Yeah, see you there."
Isolde turned to the two boys.
"Bad news guys, I forgot I was supposed to go to the club tonight, cause we're trying to get together a girl's polo team. I'm going to have to skip the movie. But I'll send Oliver to get you guys after the movie, ok?
Isolde put on her best "really, really upset and sad" face, and hoped it was convincing.

He listened to the two peacocks preen about their fashion decisions with a little quirk to his lips. They were so silly. However, silly or not, they did look good. 'Sheesh, that had to be the seventh time I've thought that and it's not even four o'clock.' he thought.
"Yes, I really think you might be cold. But I do completely agree about the twizzlers. I love those." He made a slight face about shopping, "I don't see why you'd want to drag me shopping. I'm bad at it. And I have enough clothes." Ask noticed Kei glance towards the dorms as if he was going to dash back and get his coat (Ask was constantly amazed by Kei's ability to dash anywhere in heels, he knew he'd fall on his face.) but the limo pulled up and Kei decided against it.
When Isolde got the phone call about a girls polo team of all things Ask wasn't surprised. But he was disappointed. Despite going out with the two chickens and having to be the strong one, he'd been looking forward to going out with both of them. "We can go another time Isolde, we don't want you to miss out. Right Kei?" He turned to look at Kei, who was a lot closer then he'd thought since he'd started climbing in after him. His eyes widened as they were nearly nose to nose (probably an exaggeration) and immediately blushed, like someone had pushed the "All Red Blood Cells Report to Face" button.

Kei didn't have a chance to worry more about his coat, and really that was fine with him. He climbed merrily into the limo and settled into the first free seat. "We want to drag you shopping so we can dress you up. Duh Ask." Kei rolled his eyes at him teasingly.
A slight pout formed when Isolde announced she couldn't join them for the night. "Isolde! Tsk." he scolded her but didn't get much farther as Ask offered to go another night. You see as he turned to look at Ask and give his response and Ask was already facing him, looking at him inquiringly. Their faces seemed a lot closer then they should have been. Kei's eyes also widened slightly and he found his eyes flicking down to look at Ask's lips, though they were immediately drawn to the blush that was coloring Ask's cheeks. God Ask was adorable.
And then it hit Kei like a ton of bricks. He LIKED Ask. Like, like like. He turned back to look at Isolde, an almost bewildered look in his eyes as he tried to recover. "I...yes. Yes, we shouldn't leave Isolde out. You really wanted to go, right Isolde? I mean I guess me and Ask could still go if you didn't want to. Or we could see something else...' Fhew. Luckily Kei was good on his feet both figuratively and literally, as he'd managed not to sound like he'd just been hit with a major epiphany.

Isolde saw the starstruck look in Kei's eyes, and knew she could not fail him now. They would see that movie, and he would cling to Ask - and she would not be there as a third wheel.
"No, no, no, I already bought the tickets and I'd rather just me miss out. Besides, we're already on the way, and if the polo meeting doesn't take too long I'll just join you guys later. It shouldn't take to long, I mean its just kind of an update thing, so I'm sure I'll just miss the part where they explain why whoever's doing a bloody gore fest in what ever town. You guys go. Really."
Isolde didn't like to pull the "I already paid" card, unless it was important. And this was important.
Besides, she wanted to try out her night vision goggles.

Ask wondered what the point of dressing him would be. It's not like he had anything to dress up for. And as far as he could see, Isolde and Kei were just more interesting to look at, so they should dress up each other, or something.
Ask turned away quickly from Kei once he felt that tell tale blushing heat. "Isolde, you have got to stop paying for us every time we go somewhere!" He didn't think he'd win this argument. He never did. But it was the principle of the thing.
Ask sighed. "But I suppose if you already have... do your best to join us. Or else I'll have to let Kei dress me up without you." Naturally Ask was just joking but he let the threat dangle a bit before dashing Kei's hopes, "Just kidding. We're not going to dress me up at all."

"Well if you've already paid we've definitely got to go." Kei gave a decisive nod. Kei's hopes did go through the roof as Ask dangled the thread of being able to dress him up. He found himself pouting for the second time that day, but this time at Ask instead of Isolde. "Ask you tease. You had me all excited."
Kei turned back to Isolde though. "You should definitely meet up with us later. I'll have my phone on vibrate so you can text us when you get there." He pulled his phone out to set it to said setting.
The limo pulled to a stop soon after that. It wasn't too far of a drive to the movies after all. Kei tucked his phone away and waited for Ask to get out first. "Ok bye Isolde, have fun at your meeting. Text me later!"

Isolde waved in an exageratedly excited way when Oliver pulled away from the curb and headed toward the club.
"We don't need to go all the way to the club, Oliver, we just need to stop somewhere that has a restroom so I can change. Did you bring the duffle bag with my disguise?"
"Of course I did, Beauty, We'll stop at your salon - they know you're just popping in to change, but Daniel said he might be able to really disguise your hair for you. He said he and James think your plan is adorable."
"This is serious business, though. But the less I look like myself the better it will be, and Kei and Ask will be less likely to notice me."
It only took a few minutes for them to reach the salon, and Oliver helped Isolde tote in her oversized bag. Her hair stylist, Daniel, was waiting for her.
"They'll never, ever recognize me." Isolde said as she started putting on her new outfit.

Ask clambered out of the limo at Isolde's urging. Sheesh, girls were pushy. "See you later Isolde." He turned to Kei chuckling with just a little pink in his cheeks at the way Kei'd said 'tease'. "I'm not a tease. Shall we head in? I think we should get that popcorn and twizzlers first." He wondered if it would be more economical to share.
"Want to get a big tub of popcorn to share? 'Cause I'm not sharing my twizzlers." Ask didn't share his tasty red things. Ask reached into his worn jeans for his equally worn wallet. Would Kei think he was weird if he offered to cover the popcorn? Maybe it would be too much like a date. And that'd be weird. Maybe?
He was glad he'd worn his hoodie, it was a little chilly in the lobby. He shot a glance over to see if Kei was cold. Ugh, his mind wouldn't stay on one topic. A strange malady that happened whenever he was near Kei. strangely all the disjointed and track hopping thoughts seemed to revolve around Kei himself.

Kei gave an agreeing nod to the getting snacks first bit and followed Ask in to the movies. After they showed their tickets to the man at the booth, they went forward to the snack stand. "Popcorn sounds delicious." He smiled at Ask. He was looking forward to sharing popcorn with him. Maybe it was a little silly and cliche, but he hoped they'd reach for it at the same time.
"Not share your twizzlers hm? Well fine then, I won't share my gummi bears either." Kei put his hands on his hips teasingly. He gave Ask a sidelong look. "And Ask you so are a tease." Kei reached out and batted at Ask's arm gently. "You'll have to convince me otherwise." He gave a teasing grin before reaching for his gummi bears. Kei's mind did a brief foray into the gutter as it thought about all the ways that Ask could prove he wasn't a tease.
