Welcome! To MUGGLE STUDIES! At hogwarts: Muggle Studies involves the study of the Muggle (non-magical) culture "from a wizarding point of view." The only need for witches and wizards to learn about Muggle ways and means, is to ensure they can blend in with Muggles while needing to do so (for example, at the 1994 Quidditch World Cup). As the class is only mentioned as being taken by Hermione, and for just one year, little is known about its curriculum.
In the opening chapter of the final book, Voldemort murders Professor Charity Burbage because she portrays Muggles in a positive light and is opposed to limiting wizardry to only people of pure-blood origins. For the rest of the academic year covered by Deathly Hallows, the Death Eater Alecto Carrow teaches Muggle Studies. However, her lessons (which are made compulsory) mainly describe Muggles and Muggle-borns as subhuman and worthy of persecution.
The teacher in here, however, shall be none other than Catalina Courageous
Please do show them respect, for they are, or course, your teacher. ***DO NOT EDIT THIS FIRST POST IN ANY WAY!***

Good morning, class! We will be covering the fascinating topic of 'Muggle Studies'. Here we will be learning about the world of our nonmagical counterparts, the muggles, and how they survive in a world void of magic. We will be covering all of the basics of a muggles life from birth to death!
Muggles are nonmagical beings, and know nothing of real magic. How these creatures survive on a day to day basis is nothing short of astounding. We will be studying the habits and mechanisms of survival and, in some cases, not survival.

-Rules-
-Wands are not to be out during class. We will not need them unless I say otherwise.
-Animals are to be left out of the classroom.
-Use the muggle given "Golden Rule": "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you".
-Do not misinterpret the "Golden Rule" as anything perverse.
-Homework is a somewhat necessary evil. Do it and you will be rewarded.

-Tutoring- Following are a few sites that may give you a deeper understanding of muggles: Facebook.com - A social website for muggles. Deviant Art.com - Another social site focusing on muggle art http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/id.327733 - A wizard's practical joke. They created a forum based upon Hogwarts. The ministry has yet to find out about it, and the muggles think it's nothing but a joke... Very sketchy for the wizarding world, but entertaining to watch as muggles pretend to be wizards.

Sitting behind a wooden desk, I face my classroom, eager to begin my new assignment as a Muggle Studies teacher. I think for a moment, reflecting on the fact that I've gotten two of the three nonmagic based classes. I then begin to correct myself, noting that that's not entirely true, considering the way I approached the Runes class. There was more magic there, in that room, than in Lockheart's class, and he taught D.A.D.A.
I glance down at my desk and I feel a smile emerge on my face. Littered across the surface are muggle toys, ranging from small cars to a well endowed Barbie. I curiously pick up one of the smaller toys, that looks like a car and am understandably surprised when it speaks to me and transforms itself into something of a robot. I drop it, and it clatters to my desk, falling silent.
I glance back up to the class, hoping no one saw my lapse in demeanor. "Erm... Welcome to Muggle Studies." I announce, smiling broadly, "We will be studying the lives and pastimes of our nonmagical counterparts, the muggles." I explain to the class, "The first question I have for you all is... um..." I look around my desk for inspiration, "Ah! Who here has ever seen one of these?" I ask, holding up a rather large cube with various colors on its surface.
"This is a muggle puzzle, said to house a great treasure for anyone clever enough to solve it." I announce proudly, "All of these colored squares must line up on one side, one white, one yellow, blue, green, red, and orange." I give the cube a few turns, rotating the sides and colors in a futile effort, "Obviously, it seems a little difficult..." I say, trying to save face, "Does anyone know what this....... thing is called?" I ask the class, looking increasingly frustrated as I turn the puzzle.

Lena
Lena looked at the cube and wondered.. wondered why it looked familiar? She thought she might had seen one before.. but where? She soon realised she had seen something similar once when she had visited muggle friends of her family. She had seen their son twisting the sides and had approached him to ask what it was. He had told her a brief description about it and had called it a.. Lena frowned in concentration as she tried to remember the name.. A Rubik's Cube! She whispered suddenly, looking around afterwords, a little embarrassed, wondering if anyone had heard her. He had called it a Rubik's Cube. Lena raised her hand and spoke. Professor? Is that a Rubik's Cube? She wasn’t even sure if that was correct.. But it’s not like she would lose house points if she got the answer wrong.

Gryffindor Prefect Sparrow----Gryffindor ----3rdyear Gryffinclaw Quidditch Captain Sparrow quickly sat down walking in just as Professor starts to talk. She hears the question and looks at the item he is holding. Sparrow recognizes it from last year when a student brought it to class once, but before Sparrow can raise her hand Lena has already answered the question. Sparrow nods as she hears Lena say it is a Rubik's Cube thinking that that truly is the correct name.

Liviana sped in through the classroom door, hoping she did not disrupt class too much by her late arrival. As all eyes in the classroom were on her again, she gave a small, embarrassed grin.
She trotted quickly to her usual desk, placed her bag right beside it and dug around for parchment, a quill, and ink. After rustling around for a few moments, she put them on her desk, and finally took notice of the object in the Professor's hand.
Lena was right, it was a Rubik's cube. She had spent many an unsuccessful hour as a child trying to solve one just like it in the muggle world. Trying to appear studious, she began to sketch one on her notes page.

Ghaleon, Ravenclaw, 2nd Year
"Out of curiosity professor, do the six colors on this cube have any specific meaning? Or is it just six randomly chosen colors?" Ghaleon asked thoughtfully.

Without looking up from the cube, I wave my hand toward Lena, "Indeed it is." I say, my voice lacking it's usual upbeat tone and having it replaced by one of slight frustration.
"Good question." I respond in reference to the colors, still turning the cube fruitlessly, "From what I understand, there is no great significance in the chosen colors, other than to give the cube a more complex look and a more satisfying conclusion when... IF one ever solves it." I explain before setting down the cube in an aggressive fashion, a smile forcing its way onto my face to hide my frustration, "Okay, enough of that." I sigh.
"Today will be spent mainly on toys and other small amusements." I explain, picking up a small black matchbox car with purple stripes and a large engine poking through the hood to couple the unseemly jet booster coming from the back, "This, for instance, is a muggle vehicle from the future." I proclaim, "The muggles are quite fond of predicting the future through toys, as to leave something behind in case of a genocide." I muse, turning the car over in my hand.
I toss the car onto the floor and then point my wand at it, and it begins to drive about the classroom at high speeds, little bursts of fire emitting from the jet, "Cute." I murmur to myself, "Now, who wants to give this bloody cube a try?" I ask, momentarily flaring in my temper, "Points for trying and points for solving." I entice, "One at a time, please... and no magic."

Lena
Lena raised her hand. I'd also like to try solving that rubik’s cube, Professor. She said while gazing at the little vehicle speeding around on the classroom floor. It zoomed in the direction of her feet and she lift them just in time for the little thing to pass under her feet without colliding with them.

After a few more moments of twisting and turning the cursed cube, I toss it to the first student who asked for it, "All yours." I fume, turning and walking back to my desk, muttering something about how magic would make this a lot easier, "After you're done, give it to the next student." I say shortly, collapsing into my chair.

Ghaleon, Ravenclaw, 2nd Year
Ghaleon thought one could easily solve it with a spell... but of course that would have defeated the purpose of it entirely.

Gryffindor Prefect Sparrow----Gryffindor ----3rdyear Gryffinclaw Quidditch Captain Sparrow held the cube in her hands twisting it around and around. She found it confusing and after a while she managed to get one side a solid color but the others were still jumbles of colors! She frowned at the cube and twisted it some more trying to get some more together and ended up with two sides the same. The next time she tried She couldn't get anything else and she frowned at it in frustration and anger and was tempted to blow the thing up with a simple spell. Instead of doing what she wanted she tossed the Rubuk's Cube over to Lena for her to try.
