Okay, good. I see from all of you that there was no 'logical' reason for that.

It's just because around the end of the series, they (=various characters...)were all serious as they explained 'Because her switch is in her v****a, once you have sex with her, she will be reset and forget everything'...

So I thought maybe there was a reason for that...
LIke...to prevent Chii from falling in love or something.

See, this is why I don't like CLAMP's works.
The plot/climax is based on the stupidest reasons, or no reason at all.

1) Take 'R.G Veda'

- the evil guy (who feed the garura-oh's little sister to wolves..) was just acting evil to stop Asura (main character) from awaking and destroying the world.

....and there was absolutely no other positive alternatives, was there?

2) Take 'Wish'

- "Because he was soon to be dead..that's why God made Kohaku shrink to a chibi for 100 years..." WITHOUT explaining it to Kohaku.

(God was helping Kohaku by putting him in sleep in his chibi state for 100 years so Kohaku could wait for Shuichiro to be reincarnated...but WHY didn't God explain beforehand? Kohaku thought God was punishing him, until finally the messenger of God comes and explains it later.)

...I found that to be just...the plot is so unsmooth...it feels like it was forced...a forced climax.

3) Take 'Card captor sakura'

- "Eriol couldn't reveal that he was Clow's reincarnation....he just acted like a bad guy to help Sakura get stronger..."

I've read the whole manga over and over, but I still can't make logic out of this.

Some of those 'Takes' require your knowledge on the respective Clamp series, but you get my point.

Nevertheless, I like reading Clamp (oh, beautiful art)....until the climax. The plot is interesting, yes, but when it gets to climax, it just crashes for me.


Looking over, I see that I sound like an anti-clamp, and I think I am more of an anti-clamp than pro-clamp. But in anime forum we can discuss what we like AND dislike about anime, right? So please, let's have a nice conversation.

And he made Chii and Freya to be his daughters...

Hmm... well ya the chobits series pissed me off a little but I like some things from Clamp... like Tsubasa, in my opinion that one had a pretty good story line.

Though their techniques are dated, CLAMP still produces some very visually-stunning manga. The super-diluted TV versions of their works usually don't quite have that visual appeal, save for the X/1999 series and feature film.

As far as the story is concerned, sure, the climaxes suck, but does it really matter? The entire times you read the story arc, waiting for something to happen, waiting as the climax builds and builds...when has an ending ever truly met the expectations of a target audience? Screw the ending, it's the damned rollercoaster ride you have while GETTING THERE that's half the fun!

And who looks foward to an ending? Endings mean your favorite continuities are over and you'll never have anything new to read through in that story universe. So MEH! :p

I don't think the reason was to prevent Chii from falling in love. The reason was to prevent some guy from pretending to like her just so he can have sex with her.

They wanted to make sure Hideki was sincere.
