Welcome students into my classroom. I am Professor Desiree Éternelle (DAISY-RAY EH-TEAR-NELL). Please call me Professor or add Éternelle at the end.This may not be the most popular classes of them all; even though it is required class for all from the first grade to the fifth grade. Maybe I'll see you all for the N.E.W.T.'s ? Very well. You must be pleased. The ghost of Cuthbert Binn's has been exorcised and transferred to the Brazilian Wizarding School. There are a few sets of rules in my class, please read and abide to them.

You must be worried as it seems that my predecessor had quite a reputation. No, lectures and monologues won't be a part of this class though I'd love to get your attention and be able to share my own passion for history without the dull and zombie-minded techniques Professor Binn used.

History of Magic consists of classes that recall past events and even discussion about the future. Goblin rebellions, wars, historic mage and wizards... You will be given text assignments, art and of course demonstration of culture in front of your classmates. This class will involve a lot of research and time-consuming (for the lesser prepared) babbling in front of your desk.

In real life, I live in the eastern part of Canada. I follow Eastern/Central Time GMT depending on Daylight Savings. I am mostly available only at night from 6 to 9 pm depending. Due to an ever-changing schedule, my hours vary a lot. That is why assignments will almost always be monthly.
Let's not forget that most of the content here are written, copyrighted by J.K Rowling for creating all the stuff ! I'd also like to give credit to pahpulfirh for the insight and contents !

No House Rivalry Here as history bonds all of knowledge and past. I will allow Quidditch banter as long as it is in season.
Be RESPECTFUL. As you must know, a clear mind will always be a bonus.
Be ready to learn ! I am well aware that this may not be the most interesting class of all. Don't try summoning pillows, cushions and whatnot.
Proper Grammar and Spelling please. Not only the kinds with your wand.
Keep everything PG-13.
There will be no clear schedule. This class might not be your first choice. Assignments and homeworks will have deadlines but not anything too specific.
Have FUN. Life is too short to be void.

Optional Rules: Roleplay
I love myself a good read, especially the ones that gives you ''juice'' and energy to move on and get going. You don't have to follow the next rules, as they are only details. I highly encourage roleplaying (especially semi-literate but only if you can do it!).

- Write at least three to four sentences. I'm not much a fan of one-liners.
- When handing out assignments, why not write about how your character's doing in class, him/her handing it ? It's roleplay.
- Don't be afraid to style your post with color, bold and italic writing. When you talk or describe.
- If possible, include a small text or banner next to your house; like a quote or your character's name. An image of your character works too !

Assignments/Projects/Extra-Credits

One: Before we get started, I need to know who exactly I'm dealing with. Here's a little questionnaire that you are free to fill to your hearts content. Please include in your first post your name, year. Write a short text which includes the following questions.

Two: Please send me an owl (pm) with a 4 inch scroll (75-125 words) who answers these questions. A maximum of 20 points will be awarded for this task for your valuable opinion and insight.

Knowing about the conditions of Queerditch Marsh and about medieval brooms, I'd like you to write a small parchment of a fictional story of you playing a match of Queerditch ! You may use your imagination but remember this;

- Quaffles were round leather balls with either a strap or holes.
- Bludgers were bewitched heavy rocks to fly around the field. Clubs were used instead of a bat.
- The goals are barrels on stilts.
- Brooms were highly rustic.
- Fields were open-aired spaces with no spells to keep the balls in a delimited area.

There are no limitations on words, just have a good story. You may choose to submit it in for of a parchment sent by owl, give it to me in class or even stand up to the class and do an oral presentation. That last option can net you extra-credit but that means that the whole class must ask questions or interact with you as if you've truly lived in the twelfth century.
