PLOT: The series is set in the near future. Yuma Tsukumo is the number one bad boy at his school. Something unexpected happens as Ryoga challenges him to a Duel. When the mysterious entity Astral appears before them a new legend begins.[

The new excell summon:
When you have 2 monsters with the same level on your side of the field, you can special summon a monster with the combined levels.
3+3=6
4+4=8
5+5=10
That's what I read.

It's not on wikia yet... but I'll take your word for it I'll probably stick with synchros anyways

From the way wikipedia worded it, they two monsters used to excess summon the excess monster are supposed to support it. So I'm thinking there will be a special mechanic put in place like with synchro summoning only the excess monster over laps the monnsters used and/or gains effects for the number or type of monsters used.

Excess Summoning sounds, well... excessive. Do we really need fifty million new methods to summon monsters? How about bringing Rituals back into the spotlight or something? They had to change the game for Synchros, now its likely to change yet again with this Excess Summoning...

Legendary Pirate Plasma Excess Summoning sounds, well... excessive. Do we really need fifty million new methods to summon monsters? How about bringing Rituals back into the spotlight or something? They had to change the game for Synchros, now its likely to change yet again with this Excess Summoning... I completely agree. Konami needs to either stop making new summoning or stop printing old methods of summoning.

I Believe the original ended at five, and GX ended in the middle of the third season....if I'm not mistaken....Honestly....I'm not sure I like the idea of new Characters! I JUST GOT USED TO YUSEI FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, the new guy looks kinda like a combo of Yugi and Yusei....Just my Personal Opinion.
